Dude I'm just gonna poison the water supply of these people here

>dude I'm just gonna poison the water supply of these people here
why?
>who cares? I don't even know why!
>I'm one of the top people in the evil empire!
what do you do? Why do you have so much power?
>Who cares! Why would a character need defining!
>I hate everything!
Why?
>Uh do I need a reason? I'm an FF6 character, they didn't write that far lol
Why are you the antagonist again?
>They wrote themselves into a corner.

People actually think he's a better character than Sephiroth

Attached: kefka.png (765x1019, 853K)

>Conquers the land he's invading
>Was a top general, still is formidable with magic, will do things Leo won't, got power from experiments and Magicite
>Nihilistic due to all the stuff he saw and did in life, also madness
>Unwilling to be Gestahl's bitch, proactive and rebellious
At least pretend to try OP.

You forgot the part where he

>Succeeds

You're acting like Sephiroth isn't some fingerless glove edgelord who also went batfuck crazy from magical super soldier program. They're both fucking clowns with exactly the same goddamn backstory but Kefka at least doesn't demand you take him seriously.

Imagine having a brain this small. Video games were designed for you.

I know this is that ResetERA faggot.

Isn't he basically just the Japanese version of The Joker? It's okay when the West does it.

success doesn't define effectiveness, kefka's a joke character they decided to make the bad guy. It's like if cait sith is the villain of ff7.

Not at all.

He gets killed so no

>joke character they decided to make into a bad guy
He poisoned Doma like 3 hours into the game, he was a bad guy from the start.

he did it just to become a bad guy

I think that was actually the planned twist. The older FFs all had a Kefka of their own, you just killed them early in the game. Kefka's just the one that somehow survived. But yeah, Kefka was actually reviled in the original JP release. It was only when the translation rewrote literally all of his dialogue that he got popular. Replace every memorable quote of his with some variation of "DAMN IT" and you have JP Kefka.

Interestingly, the reverse happened with Squall in 8. Nigga's really chatty in the JP version.

>>dude I'm just gonna poison the water supply of these people here
>why?
Doma was colluding with the Returners, unlike Narshe who was neutral. Narshe is spared and Doma got made an example out of.

>what do you do? Why do you have so much power?
"Vector citizen: Here's one for you... That guy Kefka? He was Cid's first experimental Magitek knight. But the process wasn't perfect yet. Something snapped in Kefka that day..."

I think combined with the weak game play of 6 this is probably why FF6 is one of the least popular in Japan.

This is just petty bait and OP loves this game because hes retarded, I fell for the ff6 meme because you of u faggots and it fucking sucks on the fundamental that its babyass easy. Fuck everybody who defends this game. So fucking what if the intro is cool and characters being interesting on a surface level. I guess I would have continued playing after the first half maybe I owned this on SNES or something back in the day but I can play way better shit now

This, 7 is a lot better.

>Why are you the antagonist again?
>They wrote themselves into a corner.
This just shows how stupid you are about writing. You think you know something because your time on Yea Forums and some animes that makes you feel special and clever.
Antagonist and villain are two different things, moron, go read a book once in a while.

>kid who just discovered antagonist and villain are two different things
imagine thinking this is a gotcha

He poisoned the people of Doma because they were at war and and he liked killing people. It was a means to an end while having fun as a psychopath. He became twisted and fucked up because he was one of the first to be experimented on with the magic experiments and it fucked him up. He had a lot of power because emperor gestahl saw him as a loyal tool to have around. Dude was nuts and just wanted to rule a dying world as a living god. He was basically like the mass shooters and nut jobs we have in the real world except he got lucky enough to have actual power. He also thought of life as being a joke in general.

The biggest plot hole is wondering why Gestahl still trusted him but Kefka did do a lot of the dirty work. Must feel bad to not be pay attention enough to understand FF6 of all games. It was also rather amusing that the comic relief villian managed to pull all that shit off and actually succeed in his plan. Meanwhile le edgy pretty boy Sephiroth didn't accomplish even half of what Kefka did.

I feel the opposite. Played FF6 recently for the first time and absolutely loved it. There was just so many charming parts like the Ultros fights and the Opera Scene. Not to mention the world getting ruined and Celes suicide attempt afterwards. I was not expecting to see something like that in a SNES game. Great cast of characters and great music as well. I agree it’s too easy but that didn’t ruin the experience for me at all.

deviantart tier edgy

Completely miss my point u big homo, the actual combat is dog shit. This boring, broken, repetitive bullshit. Fuck this game and you. Huuur duuuur the characters and story, fuck u

>The biggest plot hole is wondering why Gestahl still trusted him
Magitek knights don't just grow on trees, he was their first project and for 20 something years he was a spastic fuck but loyal to the empire and can wield magic which is a huge deal, he was invaluable because the other Magitek knights like Celes and Terra aren't mentally deranged enough to follow the orders of a mass murdering empire but Kefka is. Of course that bites Gestahl in the ass in the end, as well it should.

>see a dumb slut trying to be clever
>call out his dumbness
>hurr durr, you just learned yourself
What the fuck do you guys smoke?

No I understood your point. I just disagreed with it.

yeah It is edgy but that is the way they went with it and it was refreshing at the time honestly. Just like the charm of 4 was all the ridiculous betrayals and shit.
FFX still takes the case though
>protagonist is from a dream city and a dream himself
>party member is already dead
>some of the villains are already dead and unsent
>entire plot revolves around a suicide mission
>religion devoted to suppressing machines that secretly uses machines and is nothing but bullshit
>protagonist is a male with daddy issues

FF is a weird series like that

Stop liking the thing I dont like...

>basically admitting to it
the underage are quick to reveal themselves

You don't know how to read, right?
You can link the letters, but not read.

No one ever accused Final Fantasy of having good writing.

Either same poster or user just got completely annihilated.

Speak for yourself guy who's only critique had nothing to do with anything the OP said.

>poisons water supply of castle/town he's besieging, also killing innocents. He does it because he wants to win and doesn't care about innocent lives
>got powers from magicite experiments, gained powers, went mad
>hates everything from narcissism, madness, etc., pretty self explanatory if you actually play the game
>they wrote themselves an epic
try again shitposter.

FF6 has the worst writing in the series, the fanfic proves it

it doesn't but whatever makes you feel better shitposter, here's your last (You) from me.

>fighting against an enemy occupying a fortified position
>defense is being led by a samurai dude strong enough to solo whole platoons
>even before he showed up your men were unable to get past the walls

Poisoning their water supply was in fact a pragmatic thing to do. It was evil, yes, but there was reason behind it other than just being evil. Kefka wanted to win the war. He just didn't have any moral qualms about how.

I’m not saying that FF6 has great writing but it’s nowhere near the worst in the series. It’s a pretty generic straight forward Good vs Evil story but at least it actually makes sense which is more than can be said for some of the other FF games.

He poisoned the water because it was the quickest way to take Doma Castle.

He was a general because of previous skill and merit before he went crazy.

He hates everything because he's crazy, I guess. We don't get a good idea what he was like beforehand. Basically he just goes mad with power/a god complex. Much like Sephiroth, incidentally.

No. The Joker is a guy who commits colorful crimes or edgy murders because he thinks civilized society is a joke and he's continually trying to get Batman to break his one rule so that Batman can admit that order is a lie.

Kefka just hates everything because he's a sociopath.

Heh... whatever... kid... *broods*

>implying that Kefka is the only Deviantart-tier edgelord in Final Fantasy

wew lad

Sometimes its nice to just have a batshit insane and evil antag without some forced as fuck 2deep4u so relatable sympathetic 'kino' backstory. This doesnt mean kefka is in any way badly written.

If the gameplay being braindead is your problem, maybe go check out the Brave New World mod?

Nowhere in that sentence is there the implication that he's the only example of it. Seymour isn't edgy, he's just power hungry and delusional.

I miss when making a thread about a game didn't require the OP to be completely ridiculous contrarian post to get it started.

>the actual combat is dog shit
That's every Final Fantasy game, at least up until they made the switch from the ATB system to actual real-time combat, and even then the combat still has the depth of a puddle. Nobody loves any Final Fantasy game for the combat, they love it for the "huur duuur characters and story".

Gestahl didn't trust Kefka. He just found Kefka to be a useful tool, and figured he could be disposed of once he went too far off the deep end. The real question is how Kefka appeared to know more about the goddess statues than Gestahl did. Gestahl was prepared to execute Kefka, he just got blindsided by some unknown properties of the statues that Kefka was able to exploit.

>Nobody loves any Final Fantasy game for the combat

I mean technically yeah but you still kill him and the world begins to heal.

Maybe I fucking will. What is it?

>what do you do? Why do you have so much power?
>>Who cares! Why would a character need defining!

He was draining power from Espers. For some reason Gestahl seems to think he can keep the bitch in line just because he knows a decently powerful spell.

>posion water
>Literally everyone dies instantaneously but one

Attached: 1556890969275.jpg (528x792, 66K)

(Two.) He didn't drink any and was high above the poisonous vapors. I guess the implication is that he's so duty bound he remained vigilant for several days without sleep unlike everyone else that took breaks and the disaster is supposed to occur over several days. FFVI had to cut large amounts of the story to fit it on the cartridge. It's implications you're supposed to bridge yourself and not take fully at face value. After all the river can't really turn fully poisonous everywhere in a few seconds.

he lives in a society thats why

The first time you see him he is burning a castle town down.

Because the retainer of the kingdom of doma single handedly held back their invasion force.

he was subject to the magitek experimentation which was basically testing different ways to cram condensed alien corpses into people

The first time you see him he's taking Terra's free will away. (Unless you count the intro.)
