Sword skill doesnt mean shit in pvp. Dwarf rogues can shrug off DoTs and restealth, which is way more valuable than +5 sword skill.
On the other hand, +5 swords is invaluable in PVE. It clears up needing hit gear for more damage gear. It just depends on what your focus is.

If you're doing mage at the start, single target frost is going to be your best bet, especially on a PVP server. You won't have the seclusion to AOE farm, there will be way too many people.
Also like everyone else said, mages aren't as good at AOEing as they were in over tuned private servers, so the meme is dead.

Humans - Biggest assholes in game, usually bankers, ninjalooters and toxic waste of alliance.

Dwarves - very good guys, usually not tryhards but do their job, that's all. Also dwarf players are stoic and very calm for most of time. And every new person for dwarf player is potential new friend.

Night elf - Everybody chooses a female one. 10% of female Night Elfs are actually girls, the rest are guys roleplaying as girls to get free gold, boost, items, etc.

Gnome - If gnome player is not a gold farming bot then you can be sure it's guy who doesn't give a single fuck about anybody else's opinion or guy who just wanted to make min-maxed mage/warlock.
Orcs - Definitely almost all orcs are PVE tryhards, half of orc players are great guild master material because their leadership inspire other members of their raid/guild. The other half orcs are just pretty hotblooded and can become angry pretty fast, but booms of rage are not long and usually don't hold grudge for longer than day.

Undead - Same as humans but more edgy. The most toxic race of horde untill TBC when they got dethroned by Blood elf players. After TBC undead players are just cynical and have sick obsession over irony

Tauren - Male tauren players are like dwarf players, but they love telling puns related to cows, bulls and other kind of beef. Female tauren players are almost allways played by middle aged women.

Troll - Played by stoners. They are not toxic but you have to accept fact that troll players tend to lose half of their HP before they realize they stay in fire. Also troll players tend to go in random places in world map and stay there for long times(they probably just enjoy wiew under effects of weed).

When PVPing, weapon skill is automatically maxed against other players. The only time this is ever going to matter is when you're trying to kill someone higher level than you. Once you're 60, the +5 weaponskill in pvp isn't even worth trying to compare to stoneskin.
I guess if you want to play a character that only has that very specific advantage in world PVP pre-60, sure, +5 sword skill is decent.
Also we're ignoring the fact that combat swords isn't optimal for pvp anyway.

Desperate prayer was Dwarf and Human, and Dwarfs also got Fear Ward, whereas Humans got Feedback, a sorta OP spell that deals shadowdamage to a spell cast on them

It's way beyond that, in retail if you are a mage that is frost spec, you can't cast any fire spells. You have like 3 buttons that are retardedly similar to every other caster.
They say it's to get rid of spell clutter but in reality it's clear they just don't want to worry about balancing

Maxed for your level. So you'll always have the +5. If your weapon skill max is 200, and you're using daggers but never used daggers before, it counts as 200.
That +5 for swords makes a difference because youll be hitting at a higher rate against enemies with a higher level than you. This is a huge deal for end game PVE but since all of your enemies in PVP are your level, it's not really anything to choose a race over at all.

Combat swords is generally viewed as the best since backstab/ambush wont be usable outside of dungeons or leveling groups.

They sprinted in the opposite direction of that. Everything is homogenized to shit now. They're literally removing even racial *casting animations* - they added fancy new animations, but it's based on class. It overwrites any racial animations there would be.
Racial differences are a neat little thing, but they'd just fuck it up if they kept doing it.

If you like any amount of challenge out of your MMO XIV is the wrong game to be playing

Raids will want one of everything because you're wasting loot otherwise. You need a few hunters for certain mechanics. Otherwise they will prefer the higher DPS mages and rogues.
However you'll probably be able to find a guild that will take you if you don't go for a poopsocking guild.

The only thing FFXIV does better than Classic is raids. The world, the leveling, the questing all sucks and has always sucked. The game has been easy mode since mid-way through 2.0.
FFXIV is a decent game, but it doesn't even try to do anything that Classic is loved for.

Undead rogue. UD rogues can ignore fear/sleep and that makes all of the strongest classes against you easy mode. Warlocks will be a joke if you're UD but if not they'll kill you every time unless you get an ambush on them and stun lock them. It completely eliminates your biggest weakness once every 2 minutes.
I never realized how strong it was until a few months ago I decided to sate my hype on a private server and leveled a human warlock. UD rogues are fucking monsters.
Also UD rogues get cannibalize. You'll need a lot of down time and bandaging while leveling as a rogue, and any time you kill a humanoid you can eat them for HP and it makes a pretty big difference in the long run.

Except with cata LFR/LFD, designed around queue content and with shit class design and gameplay.

it was alright. Big scary 'boss' creature that walks the road that increases tension. There were also autistic undead rogues that camped town that created alot of world pvp - it was inspiring to see higher level people showing off and it made you want to play more and level.

If you want to play for the story, I recommend human, straight up best experience. If not human then at least something on Alliance so you can experience the human quests vicariously. Avoid gnome, their story caps out in Gnomer at level 30 but at least they share some Titan exploration with dwarfs after that in Uldaman/Un'goro.
If you must play Horde then play Undead. Strongest story Hordeside by far. If not then absolutely avoid Orc at all costs. Orcs are completely forgotten about and their story culminates with killing some pigmen in The Barrens. If you just want the fantasy of being the Hordes backbone and dealing with everyone elses adventures you can make it work I guess. Orc story experience is by far the worst though.

Not sure how you formed your list though.

As a XIV player, I can't and won't defend the MTX, I hate it. But unlike BfA the base game and content is good enough that I abide it. I'm not happy with the shop but the standard content is good enough. If you played during the FFXV event a few months back you got a 4 seater car for free which is better than any mount in store right now. You get unique stuff OUTSIDE of the MTX which is the problem WoW has where they put all the unique models in the store and reward players for in-game endeavour with 40 different Bloatray recolours.

Depends on if you have a healer friend that you make in the process. You can do everything up to ST pretty easily without being Prot. Once you get to that point, shitty healers and druid healers are going to have a hard time unless you go really slow.
With a good healer and a tank that knows how to pull, anything outside of 60 content is doable without being prot.

Night Elves are the only Alliance race that can be druids. Also, they're the second-best Alliance race for rogues (first-best for levelling, solo, and casual content. buffed stealth, dodge, and a second vanish on a 2-minute timer. arguably best alliance PvP rogues too.)

Dwarves have terrible racials and Humans have the best. Dwarves and Gnomes also have a VERY annoying and sometimes lethal tendency to get stuck in puddles, especially bad when "swimming" auto-dismounted you.

Undead is by FAR best Horde race for Priest, PvP and PvE. They have better base racials (berserking isn't great for priests, WotfK is better for PvE healing because of the frequency of fears in dungeons/raids. Devouring Plague>>>>>the shit debuff Trolls get, which again is actually bettter than berserking even for shadow).

Undead and Orcs have the best racials for PvP for every class except maybe Shaman, which kind of needs War Stomp.

Orcs are also the legacy race of Warcraft. They are the leaders of the horde. Undead are very cool conceptually. OP is cringe.

Trolls are fun, berserking is great for PvE DPS (and PvP anything), beast slaying is decent for PvE and killing druids in PvP.

Troll Berserking, though incredibly minor, is better than literally NOTHING. remember the only other healing rogues, warriors, and mages have in vanilla are bandages. it WILL save your ass in PvE semi-frequently, especially for DPS (warrs are prob better off going Tauren).

Undead Cannibalism is similar, but active instead of passive. If humanoid/undead corpses are around it acts like a second bandage. Again, not a lot, but can easily save your ass.

I think OP is only butthurt about trolls because many troll players enjoy cannabis. Dwarves are the DUDE BEER LOL class so this is about as hypocritical as it gets.

False. Gnomes have escape artist which counters one of rogue's biggest weaknesses: The have no way to get out of anything.
Having a racial ability that completely nullifies your class's biggest weakness is way more important than a 1% stat increase or slightly better stealth.

The same goes for dwarves. Dwarf priests are the best priests in the game and that position isn't even arguable.

The content is trivial and there is little point in making it ever slightly more trivial. If you plan to roll on a PvE server, you should quit instead.

You still should be mostly good if you stick to farming Beasts instead of humonoids and such, they drop items that vendor for a lot.

Paladins don't have a hard taunt which means you're fucked if you ever lose aggro in a fight.
Also having to manage mana while tanking is kind of a pain in the ass.

Stoneform loses to shadowmeld in PvP for hunters. This is especially true in the first two phases, where there is only world PvP avaialble and shadowmeld shines. Shadowmeld's different usage scenarios can require a couple of brain cells to utilize, so if you're the type of player that can't think further than "see thing press counter", you can consider rolling a dwarf, but the list is not made for people like this.

Stoneform mainly helps you against rogues, which is already a good match up for you. For removal of most poisons, you can simply use Elixirs of Poison Resistance, which have a 3s CD and can be pretty much spammed due to that. Hunters are not a very desirable blind target in the first place, and the bleed and disease removal aren't particularly good for hunters, unlike for say rogues. Stoneform simply loses to the versatility of shadowmeld.

ele shaman can blow people up in pvp but they dont have mana sustain in pve so you wont be raiding as ele

enhancement shaman can roll the dice and kill people with lucky windfury crits in pvp but they can be kited easily. in pve you might get lucky and be the guy who gets to keep the nightfall debuff on the boss but dont count on it

if you're raiding youll almost certainly be resto, spamming chain heal and throwing down buff totems now and then

A lot of my friends were Tauren, easily the most chill race behind Undead. A lot of them seem to be middle-aged men who enjoy drinking and rock music.
