Just about finish with Xeno 2 and have to say that the combat system is amazing, yet it's constantly hated on. How come people don't like it?
Just about finish with Xeno 2 and have to say that the combat system is amazing, yet it's constantly hated on...
Why does The Good Boy's Club need so many threads?
Because most people suck and can't get shit done with it. "Battles take too long" they say, because they can't perform driver/blade combos at all, not to mention breaking orbs.
?
Takes awhile to get to the point where it clicks as a fun game loop (timing your arts and blade switching while paying attention to what skills you want to lockdown during a chain attack).
I'm talking about the cahbal
People don't get it and dont have the patience to try and understand it
I doubt those people even had a Switch to play the game on.
right after they finish explaining the combat system they introduce the main antagonist who can
-prevent you from building meter
-prevent you from switching to actually spend the meter within the time limit
-reset your built meter back to 0 just in case you get smart and try to wait for everyone to have their meter prepared
and you can only seal one of those at a time.

What a shitty way to open a thread. You provide literally no arguments as to why you think the combat is good, and then expect people to lay out why others think it's bad.
Because it's horribly explained and the game isn't actually hard enough to force you to learn it properly - so you see things like people getting stuck on the final boss because they don't understand how to use chain attacks and just brute forced all the other fights.
Which fight are you talking about.
>The combat system is shi-
It's poorly explained with no option to re-read the tutorial for it, it's locked out for the first few chapters and you're stuck with the shitty nerfed combat system instead which is probably where most people gave up on the game, when it gets good it turns into a series of QTEs that you're better off avoiding by disabling the option with the DLC.
People don't get it and the UI's really busy (even though it's all important). Philistines.
>and you can only seal one of those at a time.
This. Any reasonable human being would expect the seal to stay up with the orbs but you can only choose between being knocked down every other second or being cock blocked with shackles
Use Resist Aux cores
seal one, use accessories to nerf the other
is that really so fucking hard
Turning off button prompts during the special animations would be boring as fuck.
Well, it boils down to it not opening up until chapter 4, still having relatively limited options until late game where you have a better roster of blades and Rex's sparkly white thigh window armor, the battles being rather solved since at least in the main game you're not encouraged to do much except art cancel and auto attack cancel then spam the same affinity chain over and over, and the battles being very slow. Though the battles being slow isn't unique to XC2. At least it tries something else I guess.
On an unrelated note, I'm getting deja vu from this thread. Why did I dream about a Yea Forums thread.
I hate xenoblade 2 because you can't jump around. Instead it slows you down. Ruined the entire game for me.
people do like the combat op. its just the inhuman trolls of /v that will bitch about everything anyway that say they dont like it. also rex is in # smash.
