YRC already simplified GG to the point where everything is free. There's nothing they can do that will fuck up the series any more than that.

Some people don't like them. Personally I don't mind unique wake up timings since this means that the characters with very oppressive okizeme will have to put more effort into optimizing their wake up game and it can also aid characters with weak hp or bad reversals by making okizeme less unfair for some of them.
Unique weight isn't that much of an issue by itself, I think that having both unique weight and unique air hurtboxes is what in combination ends up making some air combos more specific than needed. However there's an appeal in seeing players who are able to optimize or convert punishes into full combos in situations in which it would appear to be impossible for the average player so removing both altogether would hurt the players who specialize in optimizing combos. As other post mentioned earlier just adding more combos that work on all the cast should fix the issue.

You can adjust to land 2S>Beak Driver instead of microdashing. Beak winder loops are fine without microdash P, even Kizzie Kay forgoes that route

I agree with other stuff you say, but I don't think that's necessary. The uniqueness if each character is a big part of GG, and I'd like them to do as little as possible to make them more uniform.

The character design is pretty uninteresting for a fighting game but I like that it doesn't have long ass combos.

3f reversal window, JI, Danger Time and slowdown in anything not RRC. These need to get out. Aside from that, inputs that overlap like Megafist and Buster could be remapped. YRC and PRC could be removed honestly, no big loss there.

They wouldn't be able to tell you because it's going to have entirely new characters like Blackman and most GG characters are tangential to the main plot anyway.

Can be simplified/changed: Clash, Bursting, Instant kill, RC system, Tension gauge and pulse, Ukemi
Rest shouldn't change much or at all.

Negative penalty basically doesn't exist outside of the first hours in singleplayer for a complete newfag.

It's impossible to deny that abare looks pretty boring and is awkward in combos.

Sol's little sprint into punching combo in the trailer makes me think they've taken inspiration from UNI, and added both (universal) Sprint Attacks and chains out of mashing P (on hit). This will make it easier to hit confirm off of a jab, but hopefully it will also add more moves with more combo potential (eg second hit can chain into a sweep, third hit can be special cancelled) whilst in the right situation a different button (K, S, etc) will always be a superior option for the combo.

If anything one of my favorite things about GG is how a lot of hits can lead to nothing else but an expert player is able to convert it into something. Making the process too automatic sounds kinda boring honestly.

You don't make a game into a social bridge, it just is. Playing games with someone is one of the easiest ways to socialize.

That helps the pacing honestly. I don't enjoy Blazblue as much because it's more designed around everything leading into a long combo. If it doesn't lead into a combo then it leads to pressure and having to think quick how to take advantage of the situation instead of always converting into a combo.

I agree, you're probably right about this, but I think it's such a shame. He's easily my favorite newcomer in Xrd and one of my favorite characters in GG overall, and I'll be sad to see him go. He's just so much fun to play, it'll be hard to go play another character in the new game. Hopefully Zappa comes back at least because I'd be happy to play him, but I'd rather play Answer at the end of the day.

Take away Forward + H for throw and replace it with pressing certain 2 buttons at once. It's time to join the modern age.

dbfz style autocombos adds simplification without sacrificing depth because they fill multiple roles: unique special move per character for advanced users, low reward mash for noobs

The artstyle is generic anime high fantasy with overdesigned armors, and 90% of the character designs are boring bishounen boys and generic anime girls. Only the midget snd Ferry stand out as good designs so far. The rest are impossibly boring.

As someone who doesn't hate FighterZ I don't see where the bad will occur. Casuals will be able to enjoy the hell out of the game and the sales will flourish. But the combos worth using will be the kinds you make for yourself. How the meta has transformed from FighterZ's first year to now will happen to Guilty Gear and those who don't learn the real combos will be left in the casual dust where they are happy to stay. It's the best case scenario of a game getting casualized.

FighterZ is a fantastic game that’s tons of fun to play, and Guilty Gear thrives on having characters that are very different from each other, which was the main criticism of FighterZ, characters being too samey. So as far as I can tell, this is the best of both worlds.

Galneryus worked with who was involved for the music for Chrono Phantasma and is honestly responsible for why everything sounds as homogenized as it does compared to most themes first incarnation. They only managed to barely get their shit together for the themes of new characters in Central Fiction and new additions like Celica and Yuki Terumi.

Did they worked on the entire soundtrack or only the remixes? Because in CP the themes for Amane and Bullet sounded pretty distinctive from what I remember, unlike the second version of the old themes.

Funnily enough, they were responsible for the second editions of the themes, but not the NEW music like Dissonance, or any new character themes.

This might be even more evident in the GG x BB 2014 live show, where all the Blazblue music played is stuff that was made without their involvement. But thats just a hunch.

I think by "Universal" he means "works on the entire cast." I am a Bedman main, but I would be totally ok with not having to learn specific bnb combos for May, Potemkin, and Jam/Elphelt. Not to mention having to change the timing of my bnb against another 1/3 of the roster. Giving everyone solid combos that work against the entire roster would make the game much more manageable, and allow players to spend less time on a single character, allowing them to play more than just "main+easy mode shitters".

When I think about GGs gameplay I think about setplay and oki. The one thing I would change about it is the heavy reliance on these two things, but it is such a big part of GGs gameplay that it seemed hopeless to think that they would ever change it in the future.
Reading the "brand new experience" part has me hopeful at the possibility that they might change it to a more neutral focused game. That's just what I want, but even if they're not going to do what I hope for I'm glad they're going to be trying something new instead of doing the same thing.

Don't count this as a leak because all I am is a translator that is currently translating the manuscripts for the trademark of the game and it's characters. I literally have no idea if these characters are going to be playable or not because they might show up in the story but here are the list of names that I've seen in the manuscripts.

XX#R was my first entry but then AC comes around and literally gives everyone new fucking moves and abilities. XXAC to AC+R was a fucking bitch to relearn because it changed almost every aspect of everyone's abilities so match-ups were now completely different and some did a complete flip then Xrd completely threw out XX's formula entirely so it might as well have been a new fucking franchise. Then Xrd Rev comes out with like 3 giant system changes that effects god damn everything and then Rev2 comes out with big changes with it finally ending with Rev2.2 which heavily effected multiple characters to the point where it changed their damn combo-route.

I think your exaggerating Xrd's lifespan a bit though. Sign to Rev was a pretty big step which did include a bunch of shit that they might not have needed but they also included Blitz Shielding actually being a viable thing which I think was a genuine change. Rev2 only significantly affected the heavy hitters and top tiers. Rev2.2 specifically only affected May, Ky, Johnny, Bedman and Baiken mains. I would not call those last two "flipping the series on it's head"

Team Red literally said that they treat the series like a love child and do whatever they and Daisuke want, not exactly what it needs. Hence why Rev2.2 was it's last patch before discontinuation even though literally fucking nobody who played this game ever once said that Johnny or Ky needed more neutral pressure.

GGXX and #Reload were directed by Ishiwatari, iirc Slash and AC were directed by another guy/team which is why characters became so different and the game added stuff like force break and longer combos.

DBFZ is alive but the combos are really long so that might be somewhat offputting if you've only played SF2. Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6 are also alive on pc but they're 3d fighting games.
SF5 has a lot of missteps but has a decent amount of players. Uniel, Blazblue and Guilty Gear have pretty small communities.

Raven is a very important character lore wise so he has decent chances of being added to the new title, maybe not in the base roster though.

In the case of I-no...well we're literally talking about Daisuke's fucking mom-dom fetish so I'm pretty sure you know how powerful the dick is.

Best case scenario is some clarification on what he meant which is needed. Guilty Gear does have mechanical bloat to a degree, but the last thing it needs is the braindead treatment DBFZ got. I enjoy DBFZ to an extent, but it's not Guilty Gear. GG has it's roots in that miles deep bullshit complexity pool for fighters and as a result it's one of the most challenging and rewarding games to play, learn, and watch. Hope he doesn't tilt it too hard.

No way they will do that with gg especially knowing that it has great history and people will fucking riot them over it. They will change some things for sure. Answer and Chipp are pure suffering. The pixie archetype has to put in so much work it is soul crushing at times. One error and you're totally fucked for the most part.

Baiken would be the exception however considering how they handled her in Xrd, I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't show up for the first iteration of the game. In fact I highly doubt it.

Both Jam and Leo have no relevance to the story or lore outside of Xrd's story threads so I'm full-fledged expecting them to be canned for the initial roster. Bedman is also fucking dead.

It depends on if they're trying to attract players that don't really play games or players that are turned off from the difficulty of fighting games. If it's the first one then it will be absolute retard friendly with the game playing itself, the second one could be really fleshed out tutorials/handholding. Bedman and Jack-O are probably out or will likely be replaced since they had some really interesting mechanics and we have similar characters that have shown up than can fill in those roles.

Venom I expect to be out due to how his story ended, but we'll see. It would be weird to have a GG game without him.

There are a lot of story irrelevant or minor characters in Xrd so I'm not too sure how things will be for the next game.

you probably have, but then you don't know shit about the lore and should refrain from basing your arguments of who makes it in by basing it on the lore of the characters

You can make arguments about Zato and Milia being unreasonable too because Zato was literally fucking dead by the end of XX and they had to asspull him back to life and Milia was literally a glorified messenger bird between Slayer and Leo/Ky.

Also Zappa, Ariel, Robo-Ky and Anji all make an appearance and are involved heavily in Rev and Rev2 but are not playable at all meanwhile fucking Answer, May and Johnny are playable when almost none of them have done anything plot relevant outside of one or two things.

I mean fuck dude, May's mysterious Japanese illness wasn't even fucking solved, it went absolutely nowhere and got dropped by the end of Rev. Just like how Ky's Gear Aids hasn't been mentioned since the end of Sign.
