Why did those faggot Nintendo localizers add that gay ass "Chronicles" to the title...

Why did those faggot Nintendo localizers add that gay ass "Chronicles" to the title, as if Xenoblade alone wasn't a good enough, distinctive name. Imagine if previous titles had that gay shit in them: "Xenogears Chronicles", "Xenosaga Chronicles", ugh. So fucking stupid.

Buy Daemon x Machina

based

I won't, it looks and plays like shit.
I'll buy Astral Chain instead.

Who cares?

The real issue is, why is this game so fucking boring at first?

I get that it gets better when you get the mecha but fucking hell it's like 40 hours or something. How do I stand the mediocre battles until then?

reminder that xenoblade chronicles was originally called monado

Attached: Xenoblade_monadotitle_stretched.png (948x477, 95K)

>MonadO
I wonder if that O was supposed to have any meaning

So I started playing Xenoblade X again recently. Starting over with a new run. Whats a good build I should try this time around? Last time I had the most OP sniper setup I could figure out myself.

Pretty much everything is viable for 99% of the game, it's only a handful of tyrants that require precise builds and material grinding.

Yeah good catch user gee I don't knoOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH

Yea Forums and the rest of the vidya like to praise Xenoblade 1's localization a lot, but most people don't realize how badly NoE butchered Xenoblade 1's story and characters and context and scenes..
The name change (adding Chronicles) was just the tip of the iceberg.
People rip on NoA's X localization but nobody fell down 1's localization rabbithole.

yeah how dare they, this character refers to himself as ore but they ruined that in the localization jesus christ

Elaborate please, give some examples

Isn't it just 'monad' in Japan?

Based and /m/pilled

>Oh no, they changed "Black Face" to "Metal Face"
>Oh no, they changed "Melia Ancient" to "Melia Antiqua"
Just play them in Japanese, if you're so easily butthurt.

not him but its actually much more than that. they renamed majority of the areas (they're already in english) and went as far to edit image files that were already in english. unfortunately with localization you get paid with how much work is needed to be done and a lot was just made up

>they renamed the majority of the areas
you really aren't helping your case that this was a butchery much

If you rush Bastion Warrior or whatever the shield class is you can have infinite Overdrive the second you unlock it without grinding, and since that class has decent base stats along with Overdrive properties you can take on tougher enemies way earlier than you should.

Only problem is that class is really boring until you get to OD.

I'm surprised people still play this. But good on you user.

Here's a challenge for you, try to maintain overdrive with every character outside of MC, without augments.

Watch out, The Good Boy's Club is awake now, they won't like this thread.

The Wii game was named Xenoblade Chronicles (not just "Xenoblade") and they wanted to firmly establish that this was a sequel game in the minds of anyone looking to buy. They didn't want anyone confused into thinking that it might be a different or unrelated series, especially with the visuals and advertised features so different.

It's the same reason we have Xenoblade Chronicles 2, to both establish it as part of the series and to let people know that they could pick up Xenoblade 2 without having played the Wii U game.

No you stupid cocksucking nigger, the games are just called Xenoblade/Xenoblade X/Xenoblade 2 in Nippon.
Try educating yourself before posting next time you tremendous fucking faggot.

The Japanese language is natively composed exclusively of syllables ending in vowels. They are not able to end syllables, and by extension words, with consonants. The singular exception is the sound "nn," also sometimes conflated with the "mm" sound, due to Chinese influence. This is why you have words such as shogun, but loanwords such as konpyuuta (computer).

If it were rendered properly in English, it would have been called the Monad. It was probably left that way either because they thought it sounded better, or they believed that people were unfamiliar with the concept of the Monad.

Only The Good Boy's Club would advocate for buying Xenoblade 2 anyway.

Personally if the sword was LITERALLY just called "monad" I think it would be a little too in-your-face.
I didn't even connect the monado with monadology til I played the Saga games after XB.

I actually think Monad sounds much more appealing, but I think it's because I was utterly unfamiliar with the background of the word before playing the game. I think it's definitely possible that the translators just plain did not know the meaning of it, but maybe that's just me.

The Skells are actually the worse thing about this mediocre game funny enough

I still think back to 2015-16 NoA, and wonder what the fuck was going on with the insane localizations they were doing.

not with that framerate

>why was it called Xenoblade Chronicles X in NA?
>because the Wii game was named Xenoblade Chronicles and they wanted to be sure that NA buyers could identify the connection
>but it was called just Xenoblade in JP you faggot
Who the fuck cares what it was called in JP when you were trying to sell the game to moms and their 10 year old kids in North America?

Never ever, Switchlets

I’m thinking of getting a Switch and I’m looking at Xenoblade 2 as a possible buy, is it better than Xenoblade 1 and X? I didn’t like 1, but liked X. Does it continue X1’s story or is it playable as a standalone title?

So you're not only a nigger, but a fucking retard to boot? How about you go back to grade school before you post again, dipshit.
Or not, watching underage plebbitors desperately try to fit in is pretty entertaining.

>I didn’t like 1, but liked X.
Oh look a shit eating retard.

X is a spinoff, 2 is a sequel to 1 but not in the way you expect
We might get X2 someday

Playable as a standalone title.
It's not that good at all but it's way better than 1.
Xenoblade X is the only good Xenoblade.

Speaking of Xenoblade, why is 2 so shit? There's way too much micromanaging bullshit AND fucking gacha mechanics that limit your gameplay options. Not to mention the abysmal side quests and cringe story.

X is literal dogshit.

If you like X, 2 is fucking shit. Full of kawaii uguu shit.

It's mostly standalone aside from a few references here and there.
Personally, it's my favorite of the three games, but if you liked X more than 1 the odds are decent that you won't be a huge fan. It's pretty much more of what 1 had to offer, but cheesier and with a lot of awkward anime humor.

2 is my favorite but also the most flawed, 1 is my least favorite and the least flawed, and X is somewhere in between.
They're all 10/10 games to me, but 2 is definitely much more in the vein of 1 than X. They backpedaled on a lot of the good shit X did like fun movement, hueg environments and open-ended exploration but it does have the best story, battle system and soundtrack of the three in my opinion at least.
My biggest gripes with 2 are the gachashit and how godawful some of the designs are.

Xenoblade 2 was one of the most disappointing RPGs I have played in recent memory. Xenoblade was one of my favorite JRPGs in modern years, and X was a sequel with some really amazing innovations, even if it did take a few steps back. With Xenoblade 2 it felt like a totally different studio made an entirely different title. From the graphics, to the characters, to the story, I hated everything in 2.

In a perfect world we'd get a really well-made sequel to X, but I don't think it will ever happen.

ive had a lot of time to process xeno 2 and I think there were just too many people involved during development
none of the game feels like it fits together

It's not. The combat is actually good for once instead of a shitty mmo.

I gave up on the game around chapter 6 when I realized I spent the majority of the time in menus and online looking up information the game won't tell you.

I love jrpgs and customization but this wasn't it, it was just an endless grind through menus for a bunch of passive stat increases that didn't change gameplay at all. You had to jump through hoops for hours just to keep your party viable. Not to mention blades (aka how every character plays) being locked behind farming and luck.

Messing around with your party and builds was fine in 1 and X, how did they manage to fuck this one up so badly?

Jesus what a clusterfuck of a game.

X is a rehash of Xenosaga and is equally unfinished.
2 is a rehash of Xenogears and the story it sets up will never be completed.
1 is a rehash of Soma Bringer and SB does nearly everything better.
Pick your poison.

>You had to jump through hoops for hours just to keep your party viable.
You don't at all. The game can definitely make you feel like you need to spend a shitton of time in menus, but keeping up with things like Blade affinity chats, aux cores and shit really isn't as necessary as you think.
I stopped paying attention to most of that stuff in chapter 5 and had no trouble dealing with the rest of the game.

>2 is a rehash of Xenogears
Sure, just without half the shit that made Gears so good
>X is a rehash of Xenosaga
Sure, just without 99% of the shit that made Saga good

Attached: 1563974949680.jpg (330x1648, 55K)

>online looking up information the game won't tell you.
Just like the previous games. The game is easy as fuck (normal mode only) like 1 and X so you don't even need to know all the systems.

The thing is, if you stop caring about trying to improve your party and playstyle, you will essentially be stuck playing every encounter in the game in the exact same way.

Just repeat your abilities in the same order ad infinitum for every encounter.

At that point, why even bother?

Wonderful 101 is the best action game of the past 10 years and it is a tragedy that more people haven't played it. I would LOVE for it to get a Switch port, maybe it would finally get the attention it deserves.

You're correct about everything except for sidequests and story.

>make X thread
>half the thread is spent complaining about 2
every time

I didn't stop caring about improving my party or playstyle, I just stopped worrying about all the micromanagement shit that was making me spend so much time in the menus.

Just like X

My interest actually dropped after we got the Skells.

There's a dedicated shitposter who's never touched a single Xeno game in his life but instists on derailing every Xeno thread to complain about Xenoblade 2. It could be Xenogears, it could be Xenosaga, it could be Xenoblade 1 or Xenoblade X or Xenoblade 2. He'll make the thread about how much he hates Xenoblade 2. He's been at this for two years.

there's like a half dozen of those

the real problem is that the morons in this thread are literally unable to stop taking the bait

This is one reason why /xgg/ ignored these guys. When Elma was announced for XB2 the general went to shit fast. That being said I do miss the Celica and Hope anons. Hopefully Monolith announces something soon so /xgg/ gets revived. I miss all you guys.

Attached: rabbit hole.png (1835x544, 38K)

Xeno doesn't have enough autistic people to keep it alive unlike other generals

Localization ruined this entire franchise.

>When Elma was announced for XB2 the general went to shit fast.
No it didn't.

It actually does have the autists, but all of them refuse to participate in threads outside of Yea Forums for some reason.
