Peak of shallow game with moves which you cant realistically punish and the best move is to simply block high because no chip damage, no building meter.

thats pretty much because kazumi is the safest character in the game. and every single button she presses is essentially safe or plus on block. the only way to really contest her is pressing the safest button of your own, jabbing.

Supers are armored high damage reversals. There's a reason they're barely ever used outside that scenario. Drives are stronger but there is some thought in how they're used.

Tekken has huge gameplay issues. The jab spam we witnessed in the match between two best tekken players is just the most obvious one. It shouldnt exist and can be fixed by actually adding some of the mechanics i mentioned so the game isnt shallow button masher.

Not that other guy, but I regularly go to tournaments. People don't necessarily hate SFV, but it is known as obligation fighter. People really are desperate for either a better SF6 or something to take SFs place.
However Tekken is really only benefiting from SFs PR problem, but the players aren't suddenly shifting from 2D to 3D. Most of the SF pros are branching out into SamSho and Under Night, or going back to Guilty Gear since a lot of Asian pros came from GG in the first place.
DOA2 was releasd on PS2. but itagaki decided to be a faggot and turn the last release of DOA2 and the rest of the franchise (sans 5) as xbox exclusive. FUCKING EXBOX. the console that killed every JP franchise that went exclusive

People play what they know, and SFV is an easy, legacy fighting game. Casuals also have a tendency to follow games with the most players. Same reason the casuals all play the same FPS and MOBAs.
