twinspear and arm exo is so good
for air raiders episode
Air Driver are the BEST
>tfw had to join a no limits room to beat mission 107 on Hardest.
I'm not proud of what I did. I p-promise I'll beat it legit some day.
it's ok, 107 is probably the biggest bullshit level in the main game
Is this game decent? It just looks like a low-budget wave shooter with Fortnite graphics.
>Is this game decent?
yes. if you're not sure you can always pirate it to try it out
>le wacky ant game xD
>buying the same shit over and over again
I guess weebs really are braindead.
seething
The graphics are terrible because there's so much shit happening on screen
if the game had good graphics, it wouldn't be nearly as fun
repost the Yea Forumsdf depoly one
>if the game had good graphics, it wouldn't be nearly as fun
they did do that with insect armageddon and iron rain. and to no ones surprise they're fucking dogshit
>massive maps with literally hundreds of enemies
>still limited to 4 player coop
Any webms yet
>playable "humanoid" class
>just a blue tadpole wearing body armor
>select from plasma rifles and artillery weapons
>devour an enemy to regain health
>drop your shotgun acid on enemies, costs health to shoot
How to stop suck at Fencer?
Don't engage enemies directly, just circle around them to keep them away from your team. Fencer's impact is safely holding aggro, not being a DPS god. You can pick off 1 or 2 at a time with your spear, just wait for openings. You have the advantage of time, since you can just dash-jump forever. Also, don't fall for the gallic meme, it's a really impractical weapon most of the time, and safely sniping from a distance isn't always the most effective thing you could be doing.
just old ones
count your dashjumps and use the right setups.
as the other user said, fencer is a god at kiting.
also abuse cc striker hyper armor whenever you can. on that note, the only good strikers are vulcan hammer and vibro roller
Do any piratefags want to run dlc2? I don't want to host though because I might not be able to stay for long.
where's my 5 version now that AR is the de facto god
Hes not tho. He falls off hard.
yeah imagine
>some dickhead shoots you
>go flying into some random area
>no one gives a shit ever as there are 20 other people running around doing random shit
imagine
>4 proteuses called in on top of each other
>each fully manned
>tower of fucking power
Im amazed that they didnt have a ton of alternate costumes for each class from older games. Or even just new costumes, and joke costumes like a frog/ayy/ant/wasp skin.
imagine
>4 proteusus being deleted instantly by only being able to bounce the hugely inflated HP scaled enemies around and when one gets through it does x20 regular damage
edf with more than 4 players would need a lot of changes unless you are just expecting it to be for majorly fucking around and not a "serious" mode
Co-op carry class ready with the memes. Real men solo with Ranger like god indented. Support can call in some heavy duty jockstraps for large ranger balls.
>wanting more players in co-op
>instead of doing l4d style pvp where the opposing team gets to play as the aliens
ribbit ribbit, I'm going to headshot you with a mortar from across the map
proteus npcs when?
helicopter npcs when?
is it just too hard for them to code npcs using side arms because titan and epsilon npcs never use that shit either
What kind of new classes could they add to the game? Personally Id like to see some kind of trapper/debuffing/DOT class.
>can set immobilizing traps that stop/slow enemies
>can launch debuffing gas grenades and other items
>has wide array of weapons that do huge amounts of damage over time
that sounds like a waste of time when that could possibly mean 12 air raiders calling phobos instead
I wish they had given Proteus a redesign like they did with the other robots, and make it better. A robot that needs the entire team to operate properly, should be one of the strongest things in the game. But its not and it gets eaten alive by just basic ants spitting acid on it.
I think it would be better off if it was made so only 1 person could pilot it and fire all its weaponry.
Berserker class
specializes in melee combat, runs fast along the ground, has a wing-diver style dodge, but no flight, and calls down vehicles that move fast and control well, but have zero offensive ability. The main combo is to fly over your enemy, drop out of the sky with an elbow drop or some kind of ridiculous wrestling move. Also, mechs with swords.
How2kite a horde of birdlike monsters without endgame boost enhancers? I feel like the moment you have to land and can't immediately get back in the air again you get peppered with spikes even if you zig and zag until your boosts are off CD again. Everything else is easymode to kite but I usually get worn down by flyers quite quickly.
>I think it would be better off if it was made so only 1 person could pilot it and fire all its weaponry.
That would invalidate the heavy nyxs
I just finished mission 105 and I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.
Compared to 4.1, 5's missions are very simplistic with a few pretty intense missions here and there. For example there was several beehive destruction missions while here so far it has only been one. Or almost no use of the shield bearers.
twin blast spear attack between refreshes?
I'm kinda scrubby at fencer too, but I just go addbooster + arm exo and 2gat the birds, and it mostly works. Because of how the timing on jump resets work, if you jump pure vertical, you usually have your jumps ready the moment you hit the ground, and it's tough for birds to land their darts on you while you're jumping. You will take hits, but you shouldn't get shredded, and you can do a lot of damage. Since I go arm exo, I bring twinspear on my other weapon set to get some horizontal mobility also.
Shitty monsters! Taste my flame!
Red nixes already invalidate them.
youtube.com
This video suggests either using a Vibro Roller or Blast Twin Spears. Not sure how well lower level rollers work with earlier dash/boost enhancers, but the damage reduction during roller animation certainly helps.
what do you guys think of the concept of pvp in this game? seems like it could be fun with some proper organization
it exists in 2025/4.1 offline
online would be shit
and its shit anyway
>fencer dispersal mortars your ass
Too much aoe spam for rangers or AR's to stay alive, everyone would just by flying around as WD or Fencer and trying to blow each other up when they land just like tribes, RIP
blast twin spears and dispersion mortar, scoot until they form a tight group then fire into the crowd while boost-jumping backwards, or if you have room, in a circle. they take a bit to turn around and they have to move into position before flinging spikes, so if you don't let them stay still they can't gang up on you. something of your choice and vibro roller or a shield on secondary. Vibro roller can be used as an initial ground dash and its activation deflects damage.
>proper organization
i think it goes without saying to avoid the BIG NUKE weapons
i'd probably ban WD just for flight mobility shitting on other classes lol
and if the class balance really is that bad, there's always class v same class
the thing is that i haven't seen it been tried in 5 so i wouldnt know what kind of rules would be implemented to balance a hypothetical gamemode as of now.
Eat shit you stupid motherfucker.
Why your kind always want to shove PvP on co-op games? You ruined Dark Souls, almost ruined Killing Floor 2 and are ruining Verminitide 2 right now.
Sorry for being a developer on all your favorite games user, I'll try to make my games development career less inconvenient for you.
the weaponry is really set up for dealing with large enemies, it's totally overkill for PVP, but you could just add more players to the mix. 32 or 64 players would be perfect. Give everyone a fixed amount of health (relative to class) and have an adjustable weapon level limit.
There are a billion PvP games. Why don't you play one of those instead of trying to ruin the few co-op remaining ones?
Filthy cretin.
Why don't you play 2 and see how well that worked out.
>implying EDF isn't already PvP
calm down mate even the fucking devs of this game have tried pvp in the past and have dropped it in 5
>your way of having fun is different and also doesnt affect my way of having fun
>the tools are there to create an alternative way of play
>but i'm gonna cry about it anyways
if i may be so curious, exactly HOW would it be ruining the game? just because we aren't playing 'as it's intended'?
ok imagine EDF but PvP with a focus on squad tactics
and instead of monsters you're fighting terrorists
and each class has special abilities like using camera drones, or seeing through walls or a sledgehammer
man that'd be a great game
Not him but it would depend on how pvp is approached. In some instances you get the guild wars effect where the weapons end up getting balanced around pvp and limits placed on them. In others weapons function differently than in one mode and splits development resource time.
In this case we already know how pvp would turn out from 4.1 and its nothing to write home about.
Isn't that air raider but with more war crimes?
By the way every single player / co-op is ruined when it gets a PvP mode: All the gameplay design starts revolving around PvP.
So, in the name of balance all the cool gameplay mechanics / weapons / abilities / skills / whatever get neutered. So, we arrive at a Dark Souls 3 situation where everything that isn't a particular weapon isn't viable on the single player (AKA 90% of the game) because "muh PvP balance".
I dropped Verminitide 2 the very moment they announced PvP because fuck that horseshit.
Oh yeah, and instead of explosives or laser weapons the only weapons available are assault rifles, shotguns and sniper rifles.
And the mechas, helicopters and the like are removed and instead you only use vans
hahahahah so fun
Your typing reminds me of a certain autist. Do you have any opinions about Ace Combat?
It's one of the best videogame series ever made, but it's not for everyone. To enjoy those games you need to have the same mindset someone who enjoys EDF has.
7 was pretty cool. It may not be as good as 5 or Zero but I personally think it's better than 4.
5 is my favorite game in the series (or at least of the ones I've played).
Anything else you want to know, Mr. "fuck everything that isn't PvP"?
imagine edf with red faction destruction physics
lmao, you're actually the same guy
keep typing, this autism gives me energy, i love it
>devs figure out how to make NPC's use vehicles
>create a mission where you start out as a gunner on a brute hellflame
there are so many possibilities with this
Imagine EDF except as a turn-based JRPG.
so it's literally just hypothetical balance issues? the main core of the game is coop, and i doubt pvp would get a big enough of a following to change the entire game balance for just an alternative niche gamemode in an already niche game.
not the same user, but i wouldn't buy this game if i didn't love the core gameplay (coop) to begin with. just theorizing an alternative gamemode
The game is full of stuff that would be considered unbalanced and not fun to be on the receiving end in a PvP Game of course the Devs would have to nerf it killing the fun in the end
You also have to remember that edf is pretty much a budget game. If we got a PvP mode, it'd be a budget PvP game mode.
i'd take worms destruction physic for non buildings too
shit dude I wouldnt mind some raillroad missions like that, or even a mission where you hold out from waves of enemies and brutes come in to pick you up and it ends when you fly off a bit
>Air-raideru casts Heavy Bomber Phobos for 29 mana
>MISS!
>Waifudiver is knocked out.
>Gundamsuit is knocked out.
>Air-raideru is knocked out.
>Grenademan is knocked out.
No its called the previous version of the game. We know how pvp would work in 4 and it wasn't all that exciting.
EDF is made by a small staff. Its pretty much a guarantee that any EDF with a pvp beyond side attraction is going to end up treading on co-op modes.
I really liked edf 5 and all the updates it brought but somehow I still prefer 4.1s levels over all (except 5s beginnen, that was pretty kino).
Am I wrong?
Already happened.
youtube.com
>so it's literally just hypothetical balance issues?
Not exactly. It's more about the developer removing everything fun and broken about the game to please the PvP audience, "homogenizing" the game.
Going back to the Dark Souls example, many interesting gameplay mechanics (poison, poise, miracles, magic, bleeding, etc) got neutered in the name of PvP balance to the point where I couldn't make a pure caster on DaS3 because magic was way too weak and had many shortcomings, while 1 and 2 allowed me to.
not asking for a full blown gamemode
who says it can't/won't be just a side attraction? it's not like it's officially in 5 so we make our own.
the anger seems to stem from the developers themselves officially recognizing pvp in edf, but again i doubt the allure of pvp would gain enough of a following from the pve crowd to make it happen. just something to do on the side when people are sick of smashing aliens.
You know magic wasn't just broken in PvP right? It's also deadass broken in PvE. It's one of the few ways to make DS1 straight up easy.
When you're sick of smashing aliens, then you play something else.
I bet you get an erection when a zombie movie / game removes zombies halfway through it and changes them with human enemies "because humans are the worst monster of all ooooooooohhhhhhh"
Imagine that there WILL be a PvP mode in 5 and you WILL play it. The developers decided to put in a PvP mode that they coded in 4 hours, and introduced zero balance changes to the game. What's your loadout?
For me, it's the geist.
So?
Dark Souls isn't a competitive MLG game. Who cares if it has some broken mechanics?
Right now Bloodstained is being ruined too due to people's fucked up obsession with "balance".
>the moment you have to land
by the time you hit the ground, your dashes reset. if that isn't enough for you, you can use hyper armor to cover the cooldown duration (eg vulcan hammer swing)
would be fun just having a melee jousting match with another fencer
The point is that competent game devs don't allow mechanics that completely trivialize a game to stay in the game, especially if part of the game's appeal is difficulty. Magic in DS1 was considered a cheese strat. It didn't get removed because of fine-tuning PvP, it got removed because they were fine-tuning the actual game. If you're going to make up things to attribute to the PvP boogeyman, you could also pretend like bows were nerfed into uselessness because of PvP, or that every minor issue you have was part of a PvP checklist. They didn't take cool shit out of DS3, they invented new shit that was intended for PvP in the first place, and if you're good at using it you can clear PvE with it.
It honestly sounds like you're just butthurt that you can't waltz through the game backwards with magic cheese like you could in the earlier games. The new games have more weapon variety than ever, and you're allowed to use them, even if they don't have optimal stats.
What if 4 players controlled Storm Team and 4 players controlled individual monsters that could be chosen before a match and switched between as they die? No changes to mission structure or weapon balance, except that the winning side gets the majority of the total collected armor and weapons?
but if everything not inferno is just a simulation, then if we play on less than inferno we're not actually killing people right?
Room name: ayy lmao

Hardest
Mission 31
Buyfag lobby
Currently 3 spots. I don't know how long I'll be playing for.
Except I don't cheese them with magic. I finished all three games with different builds. Some with shields. Some without shields. Some with pure STR, some with only DEX weapons. Some with heavy use of magic. I've even made a pure cestus playthrough. I've never summoned people because that would ruin the fun.
What gets me super butthurt is the disappearing of all of those options to please a bunch of imbeciles. If you're happy with every game having its assault rifle / longsword as the only viable weapons, more power to you but don't expect everyone to be happy about it.
>fencer player has 2 shields as one of his loadouts
I wish there was a stats page at the end of a mission so I could see how many enemies each player took down.
Post webms or your mom will play Iron Rain tonight
god i hate air raider for some reason
i don't know if i'm just having bad luck in pub rooms but it seems like such a fucking slog just trying to get through hard
>hard
Mission 32, 1 spot left!
You're nuts, there are way more ways to play DS3 than DS1. You have a much wider variety of fist, scythe, whip, hammer weapons, cool offhand options created by weapon arts, dedicated-parry weapons that aren't just shields or bucklers, and off-spelling is nearly as viable as off-pyromancy. And that's not even touching the new mechanics like frost and luck, which are absolutely viable. Imagine thinking that bleed isn't viable in a game with luck and hollow stat. Sure you lose poise, but you gain shield bash, which is arguably stronger than just tanking the hit, because you deal damage without taking damage. And then there are all the absolutely ridiculous boss weapons which are much easier to acquire, more varied, and much more viable than in DS1. If you actually were a fan of the series, you'd know all this. You're just a run-of-the-mill "change = bad" autist. You can absolutely play a pure mage btw, you just can't throw away your physical weapon until lategame.
When you think about it, edf5 does have a PvP gamemode. Its called "MISSION CLEARED"
Fuck off with your dark souls garbage. This is an EDF thread
i miss the balam. the edf5 lore for their giant robot is great, but I miss how badass balam looks. Like a Big O, built solely to punch giant shit
I hope in the next games we get more giant robots with different weapons, and more giant monsters to fight.
Id love to have more reasons to bring big robots to a fight. They could even do some sentai/power rangers shit and have a giant robot that needs all 4 players to move all its limbs and do combos.
should've added the balam as a replacement to the higher tier bargas, would make sense to build a specialized punching machine instead of just modding a 'crane'. also sux how the bargas have no range options when balam had lazers.
i mean, EMC meme, money is a non issue lorewise lol
y e s
>not a mode where 1 player commands the enemies
is that some zombie master
only way the sentai shit would work is if it's automatically forced from the start of the mission. 90% of randos never wanna jump into the side guns of tanks, helis, or the proteus, even if it's the best option for them at the moment
have 1 of your 2 loadouts have a shield to block incoming damage while your jump resets and a weapon with a dash to get some breathing room to switch back to your jumping loadout
Shields can reflect enemy projectiles and it's actually pretty viable against big enemies like Queens.
I don't understand why everyone dumps on Iron Rain and Insect Armageddon. They wouldn't get half the hate if they didn't have EDF in the title. They are both decent games. Sure, they have their shortcomings, but they aren't as awful as everyone makes them out to be.
>"MISSION CLEARED" pops up
>immediately start shooting the closest player
>get hit by someone else's explosive and die
>start spamming "EDF!"
it's the most intense PvP I've had in a long time

It sure is, its a shame that old hl2 mods are dead though, pretty sure that some user tried to revive it 2 years ago but it never took off
>be set in my ways as fencer
>finally break down and try different loadouts 87 missions in
>the bullshit of double gatlings with exos
This would have made some things a lot easier.
lmao 2gat
I am so happy I managed to get a similar shot in the same type of mission between the games.
What kind of weapons do you like to use as Wing Diver?
I maxed out a level 42 Destroyer Blaster and decided to give it a try again, after a low level one turned me off from them weeks ago. It surprised me how good it was for bursting down a big target like a frog or alien, and also good for quickly taking out a bunch of insects before having to reload and top off the power again.
The big drawback is the energy cost, so I normally bring a low energy consumption and close range weapon along with it like a Spark Whip or Rapier if I mess up and accidentally deplete my energy.
Also, has anyone been able to use Particle Cannons effectively? I've used the 6 way variants in tunnel missions to lock down a chokepoint with the AOEs, but as soon as something breaks through I usually instagib myself with it.
I've been blind all this time, but at last I truly see.
Dual Hell Flame Revolvers + 100% stabilization is awesome underground. Just time it to where you are always firing. That is an easy way to farm DLC1 M11 on Inferno.
Multi-shot is pretty neato against aerial swarms. The trick is to charge it up, then go into emg charge, and spend your entire energy tank on flying around. I don't like it in caves, too easy to touch a wall, or FF a teammate. The single-shot version is pretty decent at stunlocking ayy lmaos even without breaking their armor.
But I think the biggest sleeper weapon is Geist. This motherfucker eats limbs for breakfast, it stops hordes of ayys and frogs dead in their tracks, and usually confiscates their gun arm too. It's straight terrible against any fast-moving enemy, but at long range against aliens, it does so much work. Pic related, that's like 15 aliens getting blown the fuck out by a single Geist D user, on hardest.
Depends. Usually Phalanx/Dragoon Lance for Colonists/Cosmonauts. Stardust Cannon can be extremely powerful as long as you don't blow yourself up. Lasers are all garbage as are most of the snipers. Thunder Bow has decent range and power.
The Geist is also an excellent way to piss off your teammates.
Yes, it requires trigger discipline to avoid turning your teammates into a fine pink mist. I think you just put it away if you're targeting anything other than aliens.
FUCK YOU MAKING ME HAVE CUTE FEELINGS OVER THE WORST COMMON ENEMY TYPE IN THE GAME
Look at her user.
Neat, I'll have to try out the Geist again. I only ever tried using it against flying enemies but then realized it never hits them.
>Lasers are all garbage
What? I use Mag Blasters all the time, especially if I'm expecting drones. I think they're a decent all-purpose weapon.
>I think they're a decent all-purpose weapon.
Sure, if you don't mind reloading every time you use a third of your magazine. The damage drop off is way too steep for lasers.
Let's start an argument.
>Power lance > dragoon lance
Dragoon is marginally better at killing bipeds, and significantly worse at everything else. Power lance is so cheap that you can spam it while flying and not lose altitude. It's balanced to one-shot all the common enemies, and fires fast enough that you can stunlock anything that doesn't die in one hit. It's actually more DPS overall, since you get more shots with it. Power lance is even decent against ayys, pelt one in the helmet and you'll almost always get a stagger. You also get zero recoil, and you avoid dragoon's fuck-terrible recovery animation when fighting on the ground. You lose penetration, but you'll still kill swarms just as fast, and much more safely. I think the only time that a power lance is strictly worse is against armored ayys, which are pretty rare in the campaign.
You use the Dragoon Lance's push back to your advantage when your being chased by flying backwards. You can also negate any recoil penalties by jumping before you shoot. No recovery needed.
You know what else pushes you backwards? Boosting. Which costs significantly less than a dragoon lance. In fact, boosting and firing the power lance multiple times costs significantly less than 1 dragoon shot.
>You can also negate any recoil penalties by jumping before you shoot. No recovery needed.
I'd rather use the weapon that doesn't stun me if I fail my tech! Trying to use this against a swarm will require you to use this tech dozens of times, and if you fuck up once, that could be the end of your life. I'd rather fight safely and cheaply on the ground, while recovering my energy for my next flight.
FUCK OFF OUT OF MY PLANET I DON'T WANT WEB BUKKAKES
I've had more friendly fire incidents with geist than any other weapon. It should only be used on bees and enemies that don't close in with teammates.
>Wing Diver in the room with a Geist and a Big Core
>as soon as the mission begins the sky is covered in so many purple orbs it feels like I'm in a DragonBall episode
>attempting to get close to fight enemies just gets my Ranger ass blown up
>cities are laid to ruin so hard it'd make Phobos blush
>just sit back and watch as the WD goes Frieza on everything
>mfw
Now you know how sstrong Phoboss isss!
When does Wing Diver get the second Big Core (if any)?
>charge
>hop up
>kill a fat stack of queued up monsters
>get pushed back by the recoil out of harm's way
>airdodge in appropriate direction to line up next attack / get extra distance
>repeat
I mean I still take a power lance as well just because it's almost free energywise and it oneshots trash one at a time but dragoon lance is just better whilst you still have energy.
LV. 78
2 lance is truly the blessed loadout
Die alien scum.
What a shit WD costume. Pleb tier.
What's the matter, you kids too young to remember Protoman?
>I'd rather use the weapon that doesn't stun me if I fail my tech!
Are you fucking serious? You jump, you release. It's no harder than managing your boosts as fencer. Dragoon lance has PT which increases its value enormously compared to power lance. Power Lance is fucking good, but not when you have the energy and opportunity to make use of dragoon.
Jean bikini > Old lady pantsuit
Not that autistic user but personally I hate it's jetpacks, like the costume otherwise
Your autism is beyond compare.
That's fair. I think the default WD is a little bit over-designed in the jetpack personally, but that's a matter of taste. Civilian jetpack is nice and under-stated, you don't really notice anything about it other than the jet-streams during gameplay.
Im not the one sperging out almost every thread about people who use that costume in webms
>Protoman
Isn't that the game that copied Mighty No 9?
I don't like what they did to WD in this game, honestly
virtually all her weapons require charging now which imo slows her down considerably as far as swooping in and picking off targets
What? Every thread? You are calling others autistic and you are here EVERY THREAD???
First time for me here, kid.
[Speech: Failed]
>takes things literally
>doesnt think hes autistic
>calls others kid
It is ok, kid. Try again with your words next time. We can wait for your pretend AI robot autism.
I found a picture of him, guys.
This post made me cry like an anime fan on prom night.
Oh boy, caught samefagging by the poster count again? Don't be upset, kid.
bodysuit > buttfloss
Damn since when does "kid" cause autistics to become smegmabrains? Thought we were past that era guys. Then again some moron is using the civvy costume and another is trying to defend his boyfriend it seems. EDF doesn't need people like you two.
Reminder not to post gameplay content, or the thread gets flooded with cringe trolling.
I don't like her charging weapons because it hurts my finger to play with those weapons after just an hour. Especially the lances, I wish they were just instant like in 4.
Are you retarded? Those posts were not more than a minute apart to have been samefagging with the same IP
How do I change to the civilian uniform? I want to make webms to annoy the autist
Finish the game then you can swap at the loadout screen when you are picking a class.
I miss the Idunn.
Strong agreement. Power lances let you fly almost indefinitely which is just more valuable on any mission that is actually dangerous.
The. Dash. Did you are much more likely to run out of energy with any weapon there other than a rapier compared to now thanks to the dash.
What did they mean by this?

I'm doing shit game dailies and I'll drop it in a heartbeat if I see a lobby go up
i would do it but i have niggerpoor internet :(
is it autistic that I like to take pictures of all the stores and signs ingame? I wish I could go into some of them.
I love how detailed the storefronts are
I like the city details a lot. Makes it feel real. Part of what made me pick up this game was seeing people fight in a destructible city environment that was detailed to the point where you could really imagine people living there. Though I did get kind of mad at the residential areas, I don't know what Japanese suburb planning is like, just let me drive in a straight line.
>shit game dailies
put down the warframe
I never paid attention to the buildings, do the ones in EU also have japanese writing?
I also like finding all the weird japanese vending machines.
Yes, all versions of the game have japanese writing on the buildings.
Need that operator skin, it's a limited time only
no I am talking about the missions that take place in europe
the buildings are different there
>shose shop
The game re-uses a small amount of maps, and just starts you off in different parts of the maps. So when a mission is in "europe", its actually just the same map from japan, only the mission starts on the other side of the map.
That's wrong. The Europe maps and Japan maps are completely different.
that really says a lot about our society
>acid soda
no wonder pepsiman himself came to earth
I also like that if you get close to tall buildings, you can actually look through the glass and see stuff inside them. Almost all the buildings in the game have a detailed interior if theres clear glass windows. Its pretty cool.
I wish there was a "free" mode where you can just pick a map and run around on it with no enemies so you can explore them withouth all the buildings getting leveled.
true but wrong like the other user said the EU maps are on a different map than the japan maps
Thank you user, this is some goodposting
>Acid Bakery
>Acid Soda
I wonder if one of the team members at Sandlot uses Acid as a username

This lobby music is better than 5's.
The Europe map has English store names.
Do the euro stores have detailed interiors like the japan stores?
>A STRANGER WHO HAS FOUND AN EVEN STRANGER WAR
>I FINALLY FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
The Jap stores usually have a bet of depth and objects inside. The Euro stores are mostly just flat textures behind the glass.
These threads are still going?
Nice!

now this is a banger
Nope, Europe missions take place on different maps
Too bad we didn't get to go back to LONDON this game
>you can actually blow up Big Ben
Trying Japanese voiceover for a change.
The dub actually nailed it pretty well. The spritefall operator and egg-chan sonds pretty cute too.

Is that the fucking paper mario font on the middle one?

Did they change Wing Diver description?
So what's a good mission to farm in mission pack 2? So far on inferno I can do the mission 2 and mission 10? Whichever one is the many giant kaiju mission. Except while the kaiju one drops all the high level stuff, the drop rate sucks because kaiju don't drop much.
I like the one with the 3 types of spawners, you can get a silver + silver king spawner at the end and it's really easy. Kinda slow though.
Yeah it's just a lot of videos I've looked up for suggested farming areas show a player with way more armor than me, (2400 Ranger / 1500 WD) taking easily multiple times my own health in damage while talking about how easy it is. Admittedly maybe I just need to start farming armor.
Yeah, DLC is post-inferno content, and that's definitely pre-inferno levels of armor.
Ranger and AR would be tricky without high armor, but WD and Fencer shouldn't need it due to their mobility.
Mission 11 with the kaiju is the easiest, but low yield like you said. Mission 8 with all the silvers takes a while, but you get tons of drops. You could try mission 9, but I've never managed to pull it off.

Well I was mainly meaning my level of armor.
Check out Vermintide 2s recent steam reviews. They've overhauled combat entirely to make PvP work.

Yeah, if you clear hard + hardest on the same class, you should have 2.5k-3k i think
I mained exactly one class so it had inflated armor, but if you're splitting it shouldn't be that much lower
did they fuck up the silver spider textures?
the babby ones have their eyes silver as well, same as the whole texture of the body, the king one actually has normal eyes

You have to be really far away to not get hit by it, but they do track you perfectly, and then aim the laser in a circle around you. I haven't tried standing still, but it seems like it could work. Note that it only applies to the purple lasers, the red lasers sweep back and forth instead of in a circle.
I'm playing Insect Armageddon. It's fucking weird.
It actually works lmao
HOW?!
beam ayy needs glasses
just finished the game
that ending was pretty fucking nice, do higher difficulties change enemy spawns or ai or is it just health and damage bloat
So that's why they act so weird when snipping.
>then aim the laser in a circle around you.
That sounds great! Now I can
>Note that it only applies to the purple lasers, the red lasers sweep back and forth instead of in a circle.
Shit.
Huh, the other guy did mention about how lasers are actually for CCing. I guess I can see it now. I just wish we get CC options which are that good. Spritefall is kinda like it I guess.
Enemy spawns change and also there's new variations of enemies. Silver spiders and gold ants will start showing up as well.
They add spawns, change enemies yeah.
Its very obvious when they start spamming golden and silvers at you.
Also I think the mission where you abandon the base has like 1-2 more teleport anchors.
Oh, and they all move much faster on inferno.
Havent finished game yet, but always hearing not to skip to inferno because hardest introduces new shit like gold ants a ways in and does change what spawns in each encounter.
And from what I can tell from playing the first 6 missions on normal before switching to hard, I think what they change is the quantity of enemies and the hp/damage stays the same.
Higher difficulties change a lot. Projectiles move faster, enemies are more aggressive. Betas have this really godawful move where they shoot webs, and then jump, dragging webs across your body. Drones hover further away, etc. There's damage/hp bloat, but it's not the only thing changed.
Damage/HP bloat except for golden ants is just a farming thing imo. If you're near the limit, I think the damage/hp has no practical differences between difficulties in terms of percentages.
Except for golden ants though, but then again you don't have them on the lower difficulties.
Yeah, the hp scaling matches your damage scaling on weapons for the most part, so if a weapon one-shots or two-shots on hard/hardest, the upgrade usually performs the same on inferno
Yea Forumsdf

will you help me user to get the last 4% before no limit
No way.
Too bad armor scaling doesn't scale that well, so to speak. Like if you needed a certain amount of drops to get a good weapon, changing to inferno doesn't change that. But when inferno has that stupid high limit, thats not going to work that well.
By that I mean when I've done the campaign online, I was around 2k+ armor, by that I'm assuming you should be getting around that for each full run, which means by the end of an inferno run you'll be reaching 6-7k armor.
By that what I mean is I wish higher difficulties drop more armor.
just don't get hit : )
Inferno is doable with about 6k armor, even as Air Raider with just a few exceptions. You just have to play smarter and better to overcome it.
The only real complete BS mission is the one where you fight the mothership. If the pink lasers catch you outside a vehicle even for a second you're fucked with only 6k armor.
Oh, I'm actually thinking more of the DLCs actually, then again, its the DLC.

From mission 63 and up
proteus should essentially be balam/barga tier defense, except with huge powerful guns and a metric asston of ammo.
Was doing mission 39? Hard Online on ps4, the one with the ships right after the big open battlefield.
One wing diver would always fly to the ships on the left and solo one of them, the other two guys including host would always go right. We wiped like 8 times and every time I tried to ask politely if we could stay together and do the ships one at a time. Instead they kept forking, the WD pulls everything on the left over to the right when they get swarmed. I'm the only one shooting the ships on the right, the other two are fighting red ants from the next ship over even though killing the ships is the goal. The host is fencer with 2 dash booster but he has on 2 spine drivers and 2 blood hounds, obviously doesnt know about dash jumps.
I ended up getting kicked eventually, they all knew each other, I guess.
Was I in the wrong? Is there some big brain strat that involves not managing your aggro and ignoring the mission objective?
I agree. It's slow as fuck and requires multiple pilots so I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be much more powerful than a single Nix. It's actually less tanky than a Nix because it barely has more HP and is a much bigger target so it gets popped instantly.
Seems like both the Proteus and the Naegling were essentially copy pasted from 4.1 while everything else received huge HP and damage buffs.
>Was I in the wrong? Is there some big brain strat that involves not managing your aggro and ignoring the mission objective?
No, it's always smart to manage aggro unless you know you're just going to completely wipe the floor with anything that comes at you.
In hardest and inferno managing aggro is extremely important especially and is the biggest reason why pubs get wiped over and over.
ships are priority 2 when the mission starts, all the initial spawns are priority 1
after the first few clumps of drops they start slowing down and you can spend time collecting drops and picking off ships
i'm assuming this is the mission with the 8 or so circling dropships?
either way you aren't really in the wrong, splitting up like that is dumb if it obviously isn't working

MP is dead as far as I'm concerned once Yea Forums rooms dry up because the vast majority of randoms are just too stupid to play this game with.
Nah, Mission 39 should be the one in a rice field with them talking about Beijing and you only have sarge. Its before Brutal Battlefield.
Hearing it though, that team seems way bad, the only real danger iirc on hard is the bird spawn, after that its just taking it one at a time.
Fuck, managing aggro that mission is so easy like damn. Just be careful when you pull the frogs, they are arty spec.
>MP is dead as far as I'm concerned once Yea Forums rooms dry up because the vast majority of randoms are just too stupid to play this game with.
I've done nothing but pubs with success so far. Made it all the way through hardest and halfway through inferno as AR, pubs only.
You're right though, the majority are trash. And then once in a blue moon you get some awesome team mates and I always add them on Steam when that happens.
No, that is the one right after and now that I remember it was next I am glad I didnt get to try it with them.
I'm talking about the one with like 7 stationary ones in the open rice fields with the road in the middle. Drones are already flying around, there are lots of red frogs and absolutely no cover. They would kill us every time because they would get pulled from the back too before we destroy the closer ships dropping beta, so there are 3 laser shotguns, a swarm of drones, and bukkake everywhere all at once with no escape.
Yep that one is definitely all about aggro. You can aggro just one ship at a time, the only exception being the frogs. There's no reason to try and do the whole map at once.
Yeah, we only even got to the bee spawn once so that will tell you what I was dealing with. We wiped just as many times on the open plains one until the Diver temporarily switched to ranger. Before that none of them would stay in formation long enough for the rail guns to do the cleanup for us.
this one?
Does it even matter if you pull whole map aggro? Does the new spawns also maintain aggro on you? From what I remember its not that bad as long as you properly fall back considering around half of the enemies are melee only.
Otoh some of the ships are so far out you have to actively go pull aggro from them.
Note I'm talking about that map specifically on hard.
i think new spawns do maintain aggro and getting shelled by frogs while being memed by red ants and betas is not a fun time
>Does it even matter if you pull whole map aggro?
In this case, absolutely. Why would you even want to aggro the whole map if you know they're going to be instantly replenished by the drop ships anyway?
>Does the new spawns also maintain aggro on you?
If you're still fighting the last group it spawned then yes they will maintain aggro. And since you pulled the whole map then you're pretty much going to maintain aggro indefinitely.
There's just no reason to sit back and pull aggro, it doesn't make any sense and doesn't accomplish anything. The ships are the objective and as long as you don't try and take them out faster than you can handle you're fine.
Yeah, it does. It really does.
And wow, the open plains wipe, although I can see it. I died before getting too greedy for boxes.
A great start would be not listening to this guy Fencers can often out-DPS other classes by virtue of their ability not to give a good goddamn about enemy proximity. As a fencer you want to get in and out quickly. Jump in, leave one dash jump to get away in an emergency, stab and/or shotgun everything, usually while everything on the map follows you and you slide your ass backwards. The gallics are the best thing for taking out objectives like anchors and teleporters from all the way across the map. Always have a spear (or vulcan hammer) in the right and shotgun (or cannon shot, dispersal mortar, or cannister cannon) in the left.
Yeah, I can see that.
Obviously there is no reason beyond FUN to aggro the whole map, but
>If you're still fighting the last group it spawned then yes they will maintain aggro.
this was what I was wondering about. Thinking about it that does explain some of the behavior I've seen. Thanks.
Yep

Fuck those and those green power boxes too
How do I stop dying to anything as Ranger in multi?
Just keep my distance and give sniper support?
3/4
Yes
The game is pretty stingy about giving you effective ranged weapons, but ranger has a lot of them
Alternatively go jihad bike like an absolute lunatic
Bring a shotgun. Ranger doesn't have a whole lot going for him but his shotguns are very strong. You should be able to handle most things that get close with that.
Yeah, that's Niggerel, he should've been range banned.
pirate version has MP
I used minion burst weapons whenever I needed high single target DPS. Consistent high damage at any range, the delay hurts its utility against big mobs, though. For that you want piercing, slaughter and monsoon are really good choices, sometimes the G&M semiauto carbines have piercing as well.
I usually equip one of the above and then whichever sniper fits the situation the best, or rockets if I am fighting slower ground slower targets since it is higher dps.
pretty much. that's why grenades are unironically great once you learn how to throw them and predict enemy movement.
though you should always have a shotgun as backup if shit goes wrong.
impact grenades are meme, use timed grenades
2/4
Any of WD lasers worth using?
Mag blaster is good as a sidearm. Weirdly the thing I find most handy about them is timing your reloads to trigger an EMG charge on purpose. EMG charging is about 3x faster than regular charging, so it's actually very efficient, and since your gun is battery-powered, it's relatively safe.
explain what the dashing is?
what buttons you press in what order?
Aces
dash, boost direcly afterwards, attack with twin spears twice, repeat. The buttons for dash and boost will either be space or shift by default depending on which hand you have your dash weapon and which hand you have your boost weapon. Attacking with the twin spears using mouse buttons :^)
L1 L2 R1 R1
Without Insect Armageddon we wouldnt have the Fencer or Air Raider.
But the damage fall off is pretty insane. Seems almost useless unless you're constantly reloading.
Sorry I'm retarded, it's L1 R1 L2 L2
sorry this makes no sense to me
this does
Yeah, but it's strong enough to cover 3-4 small monster kills. I treat WD battery weapons as emergency weapons, just there for situations where you run out of juice by accident. If it's strong enough to keep me alive for 8 seconds while the plasma core recovers, then it's good enough. You're right that it's not useful as a primary weapon because of the reloading, but it still has a role.
Like the other user said, they're good to keep as an alternate weapon. I often take it because I never trust my team to be able to take down drones or wasps effectively if I decide to go for a close range DPS loadout. They're good once their energy cost is lowered, don't bother with them if it's going to take up more than a third of your bar.
>bites do 0.01% of your hp per second
>allows you to recharge your energy/jumps safely in exchange for a small amount of HP
>blocks all other damage
>causes you to drop all aggro
>literally no threat of dying except by friendly fire
Remember to thank your red ant for their service!
They're such pushovers now. I'm pretty sure only Air Raiders without guns are scared of them.
EDF 6 could benefit from a unlock system that is hybrid between the classic and Iron Rain's.
If you get a weapon you already have AND it doesn't upgrade the stats, you get a small amount of credits.
You can use credits to either improve weapon stats (expensive) or buy weapons you don't have (extremely expensive) so you don't end up becoming the EDF version of Qurupeco user.
There, i said it
>Qurupeco user
Elaborate.
the aggro thing is no longer true but used to be true, same for being caught in a web

.3^60 = 4.24x10^-32. Or, about 0.000000000000000000000000000000432% chance of that happening
A nice idea, but PvP doesn't work in a game like this. Also, the developers would need to add anti cheating systems and that would drive up the price of the game , or force the devs to place lootboxes or something that allows them to recoup the costs of said anti cheating systems.
you press the dash button first, and immediately afterwards hit the jump button, then when you run out of dashes, you fire the Blast Twin Spears to launch forward a bit more while the boosters reset.
Cancelling extremely quickly like that is actually slower than if you spaced the boosts out, but guess it looks impressive and it worked in 4.1
I'm guessing he means that one guy that tried to grind for a very common drop for hours while not getting a single drop in Monster Hunter

They go straight for a long long distance like the Nyx/Proteus's missile launchers. Unlike them they also have a shit turning radius and will crash into the ground first.
Long range support yeah. Shotgun and sniper is a solid loadout.
I remember stunlocking an ayy that's fighting a fencer with the dunkel rifle.
So for the 3 end game non-DLC nixes. The Red Nix, Grenadier Nix and Powered Exo Nix. Which of these are the most mobile?
I just literally survived inferno final campaign mission by basically jumping up and down with the Nix so I'm curious now. The Red seems pretty good, a long air time. What about the other 2?
And also, apparently pepsiman's asteroids only do ground AOE damage, so you take no damage mid air.
Am I a bad man for still trying to play and finish 4 first?
Red is faster. But grenadier has enough firepower to clean a map
>the red unz go fasta
that's why it's a sidearm. you use it when you're low on juice to stun enemies for long enough that your energy can recharge.
Which one has a flamethrower? I feel like it's the best possible Nix weapon for a balanced loadout.
the red one
Nah, finish 4.1 and jump on 5 next. If you play 5 first and go back to 4.1, you'll be missing out on the QOL changes.
>you will never be a goddess of victory
>the most mobile model
>the most useful weapon
How can other Nixes even compete?
How manueverable are the others? I'm just thinking in case I want to run the final mission again.
Which should I bring for that?
The grenadier can literally look at an armored ayy and explode it with its...explosions.
the dlc one that has range and is fast as fuck
speaking of which who decided the other dlc nix (the laser beam one) should be close range but slow as fuck and have less armor than the long range one? what kind of thought was put into that?
I have a clip of some crazy high-speed low-drag pvp from fencers. No explosives involved because explosive projectiles simply don't move fast enough. They were both using canister guns, looked like, and it was just constant non-stop flying around.

Around 110
the wing diver can fly and has more general options than the ranger. let the poor guy have this.
110 in SP, 111 in MP
110 in base game plus however many in the mission packs
Sadly mine is still at 11 secs reload. But when you can fire it.
110 offline. 111 online. Online has 2 exclusive missions.
Monster GZ outclasses it, and it's not even a DLC weapon
3/4
Which are online exclusive?
2 before the mothership fight
One of them has 3 big black anchors
I think 108 and 109.
The red one is the obvious choice, but the ZC is insanely good if you can live with the slower speed. You only get one flamer and miss out on the shotguns, but you get the revolver cannon that does the work of two Rangers at surprisingly long ranges, the howitzer that instantly drops a big ass 10k damage blast on whatever you're pointing at, some good missiles to round it off and the health of a Titan to boot.

Removing limits in pub lobbies is a huge meme, you get joined by the most incompetent chuckleheads who think their farmed DLC weapons will make up for being absolute trash at the game.
How can you even die when you bring weapons capable of killing every enemy as if they were green ants
Good tanks
And jumps around like a fucking ballerina while the wing diver stuff vomits tens of thousands of damage per second.
Also the gatlings suck, except the flame one.
In fact, the best decent projectile weapon is the shotgun as it literally one hit most stuff
Actual heavy classes would get dunked because most things can nuke you if you give them a stationary target.
I dont think its any different than normal but now they just have OP weapons so its even more embarrassing to be retarded
That's not unique to pubbies, user. There's quite a few here too with low armor and inferno weapons they don't know how to use and aren't interested in learning. I'm tempted to just start kicking them for being irredeemable retards, but I don't want to start a trend of elitism taking action.
I prefer looking at armored ayys with my gunships. Now trash is a problem when it swarms you.
Happens all the time to me in that iron wall mission
By doing everything you can to avoid learning how to play and taking a shortcut to the weapons with big numbers.
fencer has the choice of either being slow or fast.
and an absolutely no mobility class would be fucking ass in edf
>73 inferno
How horrible.
spill the tea sister
Slots open again, 79 hardest, can do inferno as well + both DLC
Red is definitely the best IMO. It's way faster than the other Nix by a mile, it's not even really close. If you're getting swarmed you can jump away and when you land quickly jump out, put a spritefall at your feet and jump back in. I would say learning to use your nix for mobility and learning to quickly jump out and use your air raids is the most important skill as AR for inferno.
Even though it doesn't have the biggest health pool or the best weapon loadout, it's still the best in terms of survivability and usefulness.
How does a fencer best hold aggro for flyers? I have been using the vibro-hammer method to kite and it works really well, but it's only useful to do so if you can get more than your ordinary share to follow you.
>the enemy base has legs
EDF 2025 is on xbox. Is it good? Im thinking of getting it
The one with over 9000 silvers and the one after it.
What's the strat for that mission? Just get on the mechs and not get blown up?
I can't beat it.
hammer+dispersal, jackhammer+dexter or missiles if you don't care about damage and just want to kite everything
The shield the not!fencer has in iron rain could actually be useful here. Specially in cave missions.
inferior version of 4.1. no reason to buy if you can play 4.1 or 5 instead
The mechs are really strong. Its mortar can kill silvers in one hit IIRC.
based on the webms it seems the only class worth a damn is the wing diver
How do pirate lobbies work?
you can play 2025 to enjoy a time where wire guns exist and were quite good, till they got nerfed to sandlots "no stop using this weapon" status which evidently wasnt enough as then they got removed in 5.
>biggest dps
>skill required, no mistakes allowed or you die
>huge arsenal of weapons
>roundest rump
nah fencer is even better in every aspect except for dps.
AR has potential to be on par if played right.
only relatively weak class is Ranger but that's the point
>turn limits back on to avoid the retard rush
>nobody joins in half an hour because it's inferno
Pick your poison, fuckboi.
wd is fun but has a lot of shit/situational weapons weapons
ranger isn't as fun with mobility but so many more of his weapons are viable and versatile and feel nice to use
I'm expecting mirror drones and the centipede boss
All the classes are good in their own way, except for the poor Ranger. He doesn't really do anything particularly well.
WD - Huge damage but generally has to get in close to get her full potential
AR - Huge AoE damage and probably the most versatile class. He can do a little bit of everything.
Fencer - Good DPS, good mobility, great at surviving and solo'ing. He's kind of like the tank, he can kits mobs all day long and will generally be the last one left alive on the team.
Him dual wielding 35mm cannons would count as he can't dash nor jump with that.
Imho Ranger is comfy
just because wds have a mechanic that lets retards kill themselves instantly if they dont pay attention to it doesnt mean she requires more skill over anyone else lmao
His buster shot is satisfying as fuck though
>see 100 pellets stick to ayy
>the explode later leaving him a mangled mess
Ranger does bombs and healing. Nobody can touch the amazing godlike burst damage of C70 deployed explosives, and reverse bomber is the best healing tool in the game. It's not a great niche, but it belongs to him.
ranger can activate space travel whenever he is grabbed by a red ant with his trusty reverser
Ranger gimmick is solid dpm in every situation as long you pick the correct weapons for every mission, until you get blazer that will occupy a slot forever
any fencer missile launcher that doesn't require air raider is useless
>dpm

Too bad he doesn't have lower level versions of the Blazer. Actually that's my gripe with all the unique weapons you get in the DLC's, you can only use them for a very specific range of missions unless you turn off limits.

Arm Hound is one of the best anti bees/human babies weapon in the Fencer arsenal and you can pair them with a shotgun/mortar for having dash+jump
They are good to fuck up charging ants and spiders too
