Wtf? I thought Duel Links and the "speed" format were made to appea to people who loved the old slow yugioh. This shit is worse than real Yugioh. Seriously, the TCG/OCG duels were better. How do you fuck a videogame like that?

This. Once upon a time Blue Eyes was the only overpowered set and then they started adding more and more modern cards.

That is a meme tho. Right now things are fairly balanced. There are combo decks that are almost solitaire but they are fast meta decks plus combo decks are about to die with the new cards.

The thing is that the TCG/OCG is a lot more under "control" because they have access to handtraps which can an stop an opponent's combo and force the duel to last longer. There's also viable control decks that forces combo decks to play in different ways.
Duel Links lacks these handtraps and control decks, and its getting completely fucked because of it.

The cancer in duel links is so big that hand traps would be a blessing. Decks like Six Samurai don't even let you play the game if they go first.

That was just a hook to get people in at the start. At first deck boxes where pretty tame and you didn't really get much of the newer cards, fuck some super rares where just level fours with 1800 attack. But then the dev's had to find reasons for people to open new boxes so eventually new and new cards came out. Eventually they just released cards that where brand spanking new and then you can kiss your slow duel formats good buy.

The best worse thing about it is when they release a new deck/cards then after they tear the meta a new ass hole the ban/limit the cards so the decks go down in effectiveness. Then release new hotness to get the whales to adapt the next tier zero deck.

I played duel links for a bit, but online is literally just

Doesn't help that the game starts you off with literal dog shit. At least there's no shortage of card packs, and the pve stuff is alright.

All those skills are stupidly unfair. The skill system of Duel Links just lead to cancer. It's insane how some people defend shit like beatdown.

I played the Joey and Kaiba ones back them but I can't live without Synchro and Xyz now

theres a new Legacy of the Duelist coming out on switch next week, but they only added cards up to last year, expect dlc prices like the pc one i guess

people think duel links is bad now wait until they add XYZ monsters and you gotta start dealing with shit like ARK and Lightning

People that think Xyz would be a problem in Duel Links don't understand the speed format or even the real game

Synchro and Xyz will never be good in such a format. There is a reason the only Synchro meta deck in DL is carried by OP support like Dual Wield. Shi En is nothing without DW, Enishi and WLS. Summoning a single the Lightning in Duel Links would burn half your extra deck and single Canadia stop you from from even summoning regular utopia. Also, TTH.

Duel links is weird in that you cant use the past of the TCG to judge it. Amazons were meta, Six Samurai are meta but they are played way different than in the TCG, Blackwings actually suck.

I find it hilarious that Neos and Cyberdark, 2 of the most notorious deck downgrades in the history of YGO! are meta.

I had to stop playing because it didn't feel like old Yugioh anymore, which was the major reason I was playing it in the first place. It was right around when they teased 5Ds coming that I stopped playing almost entirely. They really messed up the pacing. I bet they are about to go into Zexal already if I had to guess.

Zexal is one od the few things that could improve duel links a bit. That or a fucking huge banlist. We know the second isn't happening because Konami only cares about keep getting money from structure decks.

Pretty sure you can add more cards to the deck if desired.

You can have up to 30, but most people try to minimize the risk of getting a bad card for the moment

You can but the format rewards small, hyper consistent decks and punish thicker ones. The hyper consistency is one of the biggest problems of Duel Links.
