Just go at it a bunch of times and don't be a retard. Read shit and roleplay your character, don't think this is a skyrim or other shit where you're a godlike champion of good whose destiny is to vanquish evil. Get fucked, run away, sneak and survive the best you can.
In more constructive advice: don't spread your stats too thin, you can't be an all-around-man here. It's better to gimp one in favor of another. Same goes for skills, just pick one fighting skill and max it out, add some throwing occasionally for the utility. Once you get the hang of crafting and learn the items and interactions, you can start maxing the crafting skill you need or restart with a more solid plan.

You only need ~3 feats for your rifle, the rest can go into Psykinetic/unarmed

Being detected by the cameras was the way I baited them into walking into my traps, I think they're just inactive otherwise. Might be that I go around stealthed too I'm not sure.
Anyway I'm a full psi too, the way I did it was to gather them all close to each other and then use thermodynamic destabilization plus critical psi punch or shock.
Be aware that shooting the cameras will wake the handmaidens up. They'll all congregate around them.

I've been getting along well with a stealthy build but it begs the question, how the hell do you play this game without stealth? I have been in so many situations where I can not think of any way I could have gotten through it without stealth.

Possibly, if you don't use Psi you have absolutely no use whatsoever for Will for example and should leave it at 3 so you can pump the points into something else
There's a murder mystery quest involved with one of the apartments later on, the rest are just for flavor and stealing

I recommend getting effective Mercantile to 55 or 95 for 1st and 2nd tier special merchandize at Constantine in Oculus. First, you get a larger selection of stuff; and he sells literally everything, including boot springs, energy emitters and whatever else is rare. Second, I bought a 154 uni-psi thingie from him with 55 Mercantile before finishing the Oligarch quest line. You could make the best gear while leaving that quest line for later, or just have a larger selection and craft the best stuff sooner even if you finish the quest line ASAP. I wish I invested in it sooner, I'll definitely get it to 55 as fast as I can when I start a new game.

I've been trying out a build with stealth and it feels kind of lame, there are so many enemies it doesn't really seem feasible to pick off individuals, and the advantage of positioning also seems weak since enemies will so ready walk into tiny rooms or around corners.

I'm a pure psi user and I don't have a single point in TM, because all that shit costs too much psi. I believe it's a psi discipline for weapon users, because I have no use for more AP or CD reduction when I have no psi left.
Boot spring gives a little bit more movement points. But the infused cave hopper leather gives a bigger cd reduction for Sprint when used in tabi boots.

chem pistols are late bloomers and you'll need to rely on 60-70% chances a lot of the time at the first 15 levels. If you don't have stealth or high initiative you can do con and wear thicc armor

It might, but Constantine sells them up to 130 quality by default. After Oligarch quest line or with 55 mercantile it's up to 160. About as likely as getting high quality super steel. I prefer boots because infused pig leather gives 30 or so extra carry weight and I don't like any other bonuses.

its faster than gloves, so you can go full str with only like 9 dex
I tried it up to lvl 6 on dominating, and it was pretty rough; I needed opportunist, a taser, bear traps, heavy punch to kill psibugs, and I ended up using a sledge against sentry bots. But you get the feat at 6th and that's where I stopped, so it might start getting better right then. Also I didn't go with psi so didnt have force emission.
I think at higher levels with force emission, it's probably pretty good.

It's very personal and dependent on build. I felt punished when I played a god-psi build which could kill all the enemies easily but they didn't give exp. When I played stealth sniper I felt rewarded on oddity for sneaking around enemies and leaving them be. Redpill is to play both systems.

But you should get 6 Agi for Sprint, I regret missing out on it. At least 6 Con for Fast Metabolism, 6 Agi for Sprint, and 6 Int for Premeditation are a must for pure psi, in my opinion.
