On the other hand compare that with how Naughty Dog handled Ellie in Last of Us. She's made gay in a prequel DLC, and TLoU2's teaser trailer has her immediately saunter up to her gay lover at the center stage of a party, and immediately start talking about how good they both stink before kissing each-other. Also being another good Japanese transsexual example character since she actually has a bit of nuance, and isn't morally perfect

I'd like it to come up during play in lets say an "organic" manner, one that adds to the characters interactions a bit, like Arcade Gannon in New Vegas being susceptible to the Confirmed Bachelor perk when playing as a man and letting you learn early and make him swoon a bit. A better equivalent for Overwatch would probably maybe be Tracer being more friendly if even a bit suggestive with other girls during banter. There's a lot of middle ground to be found between it being entirely inconspicuous and beating the player over the head with a rainbow-painted hammer. Weird also the OP used Undyne of all characters since I scarcely see her nor Alphys often held up as bad examples of Western LGBT

Yeah, well, maybe that's an issue with people assuming heterosexuality in the absence of anything being confirmed either way. I mean, this is how it works in real life too. If you're gay, you have to come out at some point. And really, what's the alternative? Announcing beforehand which characters in your game are gay?

user that's an entirely fair mindset to have when less than 5% of the population fall under the LGBT umbrella. Especially for what's often an invisible personal quality. Again I say if it's to be mentioned at all, it should ideally be integrated in some capacity in the main game. Was also a pretty decent example since you find out about their lover's spat, and hunt down her girlfriend's murderer as a side mission
