I never played WoW in my life. Should I start with the normal modern WoW? Or should I start with Classic?

Turn back 360° degrees and walk away.
Its not worth it.
>Classic
Retail WoW is a shitshow and probably one of the worst MMOs on the market for a new player.
Start with Classic and move to Retail later.
this
the golden age of the game was during wotlk/early cata days
neither of those experiences is coming back
I'd say start with classic cause its so much more simple and easy to get into.
Haha. Nope.
It was until they introduced daily quest and buying high end items with tokens with the 2.4 sunwell patch in tbc.
I guess it wasnt that bad because it gave regular players the chance to experience advanced content before wotlk came out but with that they mad just everthing availablte to anybody which kinda took away the identity of the game
Play classic and never touch modern WoW.
>early cata
>the golden age is when I started playing, long after the soul was sucked out of the game
>I refuse to capitalize or use any punctuation because it gives off a vibe and I don't want to be challenged for my retarded opinions
depends what you like doing in games?
if you wanna play solo both are ok, but modern has more stuff for you.
Basically the only thing classic does better is WPVP, player interaction, "organic" player encounters and some tiny RPG elements here and there that some fags sperg out over even if they are extremely bare bones.
right, daily quests and stuff like argent tournament were a mistake
to a degree dungeon finder was also a mistake though until they introduced LFR I don't think it was that bad
I remember people in early cata praising how difficult the dungeons/raids are again
and firelands is one of the best raids the game offered in my opinion
>the only way I can acquire moral highground is by nitpicking grammar
Current retail is great for hardcore PVE autism aka mythic raids. Almost everything else is either terrible or at OK at best.
Classic is closer to Star Citizen aka the best game that exists only in my imagination. There are many good parts like server community, no cross realm/LFG/LFR but content itself it terrible compared to retail.
Personally I'd start with Classic just because starting fresh is fun. Or better ignore the game altogether.
>the golden age of the game was during wotlk/early cata
If you're trolling you're doing a great job.
Yes, it’s worth trying it
>Current retail is great for hardcore PVE autism aka mythic raids.
Is it? In my opinion it has never been this bad, with personal loot, titanforging and how so many fights this expansion has required class stacking but leveling up alts is fucking annoying because of AP and weekly chores. I've never seen this big fallout in the mythic raid scene since WoD.
why do you think the majority of private servers are using wotlk?
Yeah. Play Classic. It's a great game and easy to get into. I don't recommend retail.
to sell $hadowmourne of course
just play classic.
modern is for people who have been stuck on the ride for so long they can't/don't want to quit
this
>Playing WoW when it's in its worst state with horrible GCD changes in 8.x and insane amount of grinding
TOP KEK
Excellent bait.
Wrath was when every Ill advised decision TBC managed to wrangle into working became cancerous and strangled the game.
Actually you should try both vanilla and cata or mop but there arent any decent servers of those versions
You are best off not playing WoW at all, I can say this as I have played WoW on and off since it came into existence and it always ended up with me spending more time in it then i would've liked.
For the leveling experience and better community, more sense of equip worth definitely classic
For actually hard endgame PvE, PvP content retail, but on the flip side shitty progression, shitloads of obsolete content from previous xpacs etc. Better graphics tho
Few reasons but the tbc open source build is crap, so was vanilla until after nost
classic will be dead within 2 months
just play retail
>leave the dead game to join an even DEADER game
The only good thing about wotlk was icecrown citadel.
And they dragged that raid out for months upon months.
>early cata
Your take is garbage and you should feel bad.
shut up dude, delete it
Neither, one is the worst mmo on the market and the other is an mmo so outdated and archaic and poorly designed that it is also the worst mmo on the market.
Go try something else entirely.
That's literally people subbing to reserve their name in classic
lmao based retard
start with classic obviously. then when TBC and wotlk servers release play those. then never go past those servers regardless of what releases
hello Ulduar?
this damage control lmao
>Early Cata
Best era of WoW after classic
since you didn't think to ask in any of the half-dozen threads that are already up, modern
I would suggest Classic, but keep in mind there's very little hand holding, and you should educate yourself on how things actually work (class performance/roles at 60) before you decide to invest so much time. Having said that, it's actually a very fun MMO experience with lots of gimmicky/unbalanced shit you can pull off. Don't listen to neckbeards saying it's outdated, there's a reason people have been playing the fuck out of it on privates for the past 10 years.
>resubbing to reserve names weeks if not months before names can even be reserved
twitchzoomers are this retarded huh
Classic is a fantastic game and apparently the last MMORPG on the market.
Discouraging socialization, which BFA and FFXIV both actively do, removes the MMO.
>TBC > Vanilla > Wrath
>Karazhan > Ulduar > ???
Classic definitely. After cracking out on the stress test I have to say I'm impressed. Game is smooth, feels almost 100% like vanilla just with better graphics and new ui skin. All the important things are there. It feels like real WoW which I can no longer say for retail.
Cata was absolutely bullshit. You were half right though because Wrath was absolutely kino.
The Argent Tournament was one of the best parts.... Kill yourself
I'm actually ok with personal loot. That's the best change Blizz has made and they should implement it to Classic. It would solve all loot drama for raiding.
Modern is fun for PvE or collection focussed players, but other areas of the game have suffered.
But either way I'd probably say start with classic anyway, it's probably a better introduction to the game rather than either having to spend one or two months grinding to be in the endgame or just boosting to endgame and having no idea what to do
>Giving retail credit at all
You don't belong here. Go back the way you came.
Don't listen to this guy. Play Classic and roll a ret paladin for guaranteed raid slot and big dick DPS. As a ret Paladin in classic you will be molesting the damage meters like they are an altar boy and you are Father McFeeley. No one will doubt your big dick supremacy, you will walk into raid night in full plate armor and a giant hammer on your back ready to crush those who stand before you.... No research or other conversation needed.
>It would solve all loot drama for raiding.
>Loot dramas in raiding
>In current retail
What? Loot is worthless in retail. And has been worthless for many expansions.
the raid and trial were great, the dailies not so
but sure I'll go get the rope bro
>Running the same 5-boss raid 4 times a week
>Catch up mechanics to make all previous raids useless
>Dungeon Finder
>Time gated daily reputation grinds to unlock even more dailies
Literally the worst patch in the history of the game.
HEHE
or if you're on horde roll an enchancement shaman
If you absolutly have to, classic.
Retail is a shitshow.
And you get to experience a hyped up launch
