NG+ is looking to be a lot smoother. You can spend renown to boost your professor rank back up to A+ quickly and you can spend renown on support and skill ranks and stuff.

There's so many little things to check like adding the new battle skills/abilities you learned to your loadout, removing the rusted weapons everyone's been picking up, repairing weapons, changing some brigades and all that other shit. Even effortless beast battles in the middle of a month still take me a little bit. The game's extremely easy yet I keep taking forever with how much time everything takes and it adds up.

Losing the weapon triangle is a good thing that's been in previous games. It's only casually beneficial to players since the idea previously was just "send in your axe armor to tank the three lance idiots who will crash into you".
Best case scenario, once we get Lunatic, enemies will all have breaker skills which gives them a one-sided weapon triangle to their advantage while you're still grinding to raise a unit through their classes.

At least Fates had Revelations, which for as bad as its gameplay issues where, uniting both families to work together and beat the main enemy was a more satisfying conclusion than either of the individual paths. I wish we had something like that for 3H, because the split between the paths feels so forced here that nobody can be coerced to talk anything out at all. For as flawed as the Fates story was I did appreciate that they allowed for that as an option too.

The story is much better, but sorry, I still think the gameplay is pretty shitty and far too easy compared to Fates. Maps are boring, no weapon triangle sucks, mages are ez OP, healers are OP (lmao map wide Physic, huge range full heal Fortify), Battalions are OP (Stride, Blaze), literally 100% crit or dodge is possible, etc. These maps are no better than Birthright-tier. And even with pair up in the mix, the 3DS games had better balanced, tighter gameplay.
I'm still having fun, but this game's an absolute joke in difficulty and I may just wait on lunatic to even bother with another playthrough. Even on lunatic I think you'd need some serious fucking self handicaps to make anything a challenge or require actual strategy and thought.

I never leveled up Heavy Armor, Riding, Flying, Faith, or Axes and managed to recruit every student possible. You only need B rank + skills if you want to recruit them when you talk to them at the monastery. They can still come up to your during the week and ask to join just by being B.

Eh, on my "hard" second playthrough I skipped the exploration and the paralogues/free battles, and even skipped some months entirely and missions were still a breeze when I was several levels under the recommended. I even skipped out and gave no one battalions. Honestly, the only challenge were some enemy monster units.
