We've warned you that the game has no matchmaking, you get thrown into games against people with max perks equipped while you are level 1 and only got the basic one. Literally unwinnable if the killer/survivor isn't half retarded.
i found a fairly mid-high ~1k-2k viewrs streamer that always talks shit and is being toxic. Never seen that tho in other games

rinse and repeat. Killers complain about being Gen-Rushed, but will chase ONE Survivor for a full 3 minutes and wonder why they lost.
It does take skill, but the average survivor can easily loop a Killer around Pallets all day. The point is to not respect the pallet, eat the stun, and go Kick Generators more confidently now that one Looping Area is gone. If you just chase the same ass Survivor all day you're going to lose unless he screws up.
That's the matchmaking for you
On the flip side, I've been placed in games as like my fifth killer match ever with 4 man SWF groups with Object of Obsession, Toolboxes, Medkits, 4 purple perks across the board, dead hard, ds, adrenaline, keys etc

It's unlikely they will ever change the matchmaking. The 1000 hours vs 2 hours matchmaking isn't my problem, but the fact that you can be matched as a level 1 killer, against a SWF premade who's hanging out in discord with their level 50 characters who have prestiged a hundred times. Ranks don't really mean anything either, because you can get to rank 4-7 pretty fast by just grinding games and in that time you've barely gotten any levels on a single character.

I was really enjoying the game for a week, played a lot of Michael for that stare down power. I'd always try and make it "fun", so I'd let survivors help their friends up, or when I caught them off guard I'd give them a 5-second head start.
Then I played with some guys that maxed out perks and they all did this exact same strat, lead me to a barn area with a couple pallets, then abuse how survivors turn faster than killers by going in a circle. After getting 3 matches with people that played like that I realized this was the game's meta and never touched it again.
As somebody who Mori's every Twitch Streamer in my lobby, I salute you.

It's funny, but this is why I quit the game after two days. Every third match there are people that will harass you outside the game and don't understand that it is just a game. There should be an option that anonymizes your name for opponents.
Played it in the early years it came out, it was never a game of skill. Just a game of who has the more shit to use aka map pallets, perks, items/addons etc. But now that balance is leaning more towards killer unless you play with an experienced SWF that uses Discord. DBD is depressing now.

depending on the killer the gameplay can be vastly different as quite a few of them have game-altering abilities. The core gameplay of survivors escaping is always the same though

I'm guessing you just play in the yellow/green ranks because most solo teams are potatoes once they meet an experienced killer that plays all day every day. Especially one that uses Nurse/Huntress.
It's the semi stale "meta". Everyone is expected to play in a main way with a few variations and if you dare to do something "unacceptable" or lame like camping the hook as the killer everyone is going to lose their shit.
The worst part is that it goes both ways. Certain killers can just cheese shit and cause the match to be a gen rush fest and nothing else while survivors can make the match into a shitshow where they cycle hits and hooks unless the killer just face camps the hook and loses because he can't stop gen rushing.
It probably wouldn't be so bad if they punished disconnecting super hard and rewarded the killer for it.
More like, go through 300+ Bloodwebs and still not get tier 3 of a perk you want.

Looping is annoying and infuriating when it happens, but I've never really seen it as an issue. You can just go after someone else or actually waste your time with it. A lot of people are not very good at it though and once the pallet is gone they're just fucking dead, while some other people can run around your character and you'd still not hit them. I hate looping, but the game needs inconviniences like that or otherwise it would be way too straight forward.
