Which controller is best for PC? I'm thinking about Xbox One and steam controller

get an used xbox 360 controller and you're done

do NOT fucking buy the 360 cotroller
the dpad is an abomination

I bought non original x360 controller by XEOX, very good for most games

The Steam Controller is only good for a very specific type of game. I used it for Monster Hunter World and it worked great, but I can't find any other games that work well with it, for most games I either prefer a traditional controller or m+kb.

For 3D games the Switch Pro controller is my go-to. For 2D games it's the Wii U Pro controller because the d-pad is great and symmetrical with the face buttons.
I'd really suggest having a dedicated 3D and 2D controller instead of a jack of all trades.

I have a modified 360 controller on which I have soldered a USB cable to the battery contacts so that you can use the controller directly from USB power instead of the batteries. Works great, the downside is that you have to use two USB ports for one controller, but that's not a big problem on a desktop.

The Steam Controller will work with absolutely everything and anything you throw at it. The problem is that you have to set up your own controller configs to your liking on every game, because the cookie cutter profiles floating around won't cut it.

Looks cheap, but durable, and while it can emulate vibration, it's crap and not made for it, it only has haptics in the touch pad and gyro which feel amazing.

Steam controller is poopy

The Switch pro controller, xbone and DS4 are all very good. That's how I'd rank them for personal comfort but you can't really go wrong with any of them.

It really depends what games you're playing. I keep both an Xbox One and PS4 controller handy for games that require more use of the thumbstick or Dpad respectively.

8bitdo sn30/sf30 pro or pro+

Why not just get an Xbone controller then? They work plugged in without batteries.

ds4

The steam controller is a pretty cool controller that is specifically made for a bunch of games that don't exist.

I find the touchpads on the steam controller aren't very good for FPS accuracy
I like the logitec with the PS shape and Xbox buttons (pic rel)

>Not owning every controller

..

PS4 controller is comfy as fuk on PC

I mean relative to other controllers
my fave is pic related but my wrist hurts from to much keyboard after a while

When the fuck will those lazy fucks at Valve make a Steam Controller 2? The software behind it is like fucking magic but my god it's such a ballache to actually configure.

>360 controller finally breaks down
>order Xbone controller since don't want to risk getting a used 360
>Xbone just isn't the same as the 360
>not as comfy
>mfw

b-b-b-but the rumbling triggers!

They feel amazing in Forza and nothing else.

I didn't want to spend money on an expensive controller when the one I have works perfectly.

>any controller on PC
>to play a FPS
user... are you feeling all right?
