It hurts, bros. Why does the west hate aesthetic so much? We used to be so good at it

>3D character models that have the artstyle of 1940s-1980s Disney movies
feel like there's a bit of a contradiction there

We can make one if you want
Nah just kidding we are lazy neets that don't want to make game

That is an incredibly specific desire but I'll be honest, I'd play it. tfw I have that exact picture saved for some reason

Cel shading and fake 2D has come a long way, I think someone could probably manage it. No low-budget studios though, it would probably still be pretty tough to do.

>implying you cant replicate 2d animation into 3d
Anime games showed this is entirely possible. And there are significant differences between nu-Disney character models and pre-renaissance Disney. Even when characters are initially 3D like Frozen or Tangled characters, when replicated in 2D, you definitely see the difference.

You should check out Paperboy

Paperman* whoops

it's odd because the animation is good but it feels like a dollar bin movie because of how shitty the plot and characters are

>Cel shading and fake 2D has come a long way
This. It's entirely possible to keep the original 2D feel if done properly. The japs have done it before.

that was 3d animation that had 2D animation overlayed to give it a feel of 2D animation, you can't really replicate that in a video game

Almost every 2D Disney movie is a technical masterpiece. Even with how bland the story was, I was still in awe watching it for the animation. The animation unironically makes it at the very least an 8/10 movie. And that's saying something considering how forgettable the plot is.

I'm sorry but The Black Cauldron was not a success even if it was one of the best movies Disney ever made.

>3 fps

>every anime ever

That's just authenticity.

I honestly can't stand the Disney style anymore after going through college for animation. All the fat autistic girls were obsessed with that shit and their art was always a shameless ripoff. Four years of that and I can't even look at the stuff anymore.

It's actually probably 8 FPS like, to quote , every anime ever.

>horned king was one of the best looking and sounding villain they ever made
>hes stuck in that movie

everyone claims to love it, but not a single person replicates it, nor the conditions it was created with.

>he thinks their poor facsimiles come close to understanding the real thing

Poor facsimiles can make me never want to see the original thing again through sheer power of association. Humans are only animals.

but you're more monkey than the rest of us.

Disney is funny because of how reluctant they are to embrace their cult classics. It doesn't matter if you become popular later on, if you didn't break records at the box office, you're forever trash in their eyes.

Apparently Atlantis and Treasure Planet are getting remakes, so there's that. Black Cauldron is another one they're planning.

fucking savage

John Hurt isn't alive anymore, it will never be the same.

>Atlantis is getting a remake
>Treasure Planet too
>Black Cauldron also
What the fug

They're literally milking this retarded live action cow for everything it's worth

I wonder if anyone associates Disney with quality, i sure don't

>live action

Big cringe

I've tried to talk to the people that like these films and it seriously feels like looking into an abyss, it's unpleasant how inhuman they are.
