Aside from more memorable maps and higher difficulty, where do you think they should go with the franchise after this, conceptually? Do you think they'll keep the school element, but in a different world?
Aside from more memorable maps and higher difficulty, where do you think they should go with the franchise after this...
They should try making a good game for once
Thanks for bumping
Scrap the school setting. It holds back everything else.
Fpbp
The school stuff is fun, but I wouldn't want it again. I'm guessing that they're going to remake some of the older games. Holy war, or Binding Blade probably. though I'd really like it if PoR and RD were ported over like an HD collection
They should drop the school, My Castle was already pushing it. If they want a hub that much then just bring back the base. Also this
You should try not being a faggot for once.
Just more focus on SRPG please.
Can't stretch on how mediocre the game felt to me. Map Design really feels like an afterthought. It's never intricate.
fpbp
Never use the artist again.
Scrap the school setting
Get Studio Khara to fuck off and bring back the studio that did Awakening and Fates.
Get rid of the multiple routes or limit it to only 2
Better graphics and actually put in shadows and AA
A spiritual successor to Conquest:
>no rewinding
>no casual mode
>better maps
>better artist
>better graphics
Is it really a "Fire Emblem: Persona" as how everyone is saying?
This. Conquest would be my favorite if the story wasn't awful.
>Wah wah the game is broken because it lets me rewind
Then dont use it you fucking faggots. Turn off your system if youre a reset fag and start over from straight. Don't complain about optional features
It really is unfortunately.
they should finally cancel the franchise after this shovelware and go back to making advance wars instead.
>>no rewinding
>>no casual mode
Autism
they need to pick a direction with the main character and go all the way. full customizable avatar with dating sim elements, or an actual character with depth that isn't customizable. 3h did it in the worst way possible.
classes got really blurred in 3h, though I like that mages aren't the be all end all all the time and that archers are good.
future games need serious polish in comparison to 3h; sov was the most immaculately presented fe game ever, and 3h is choppy and low in polish thanks to koei.
story that doesn't suck would be great too
>Don't complain about optional features
Normally I'd agree, but rewinding and casual mode only encourages bad behavior and leads to learned helplessness. You don't want to end up like here.
This is actually how to do it. Remove filler, up the graphics, get a tighter story, fuck off with Khara, and jerk my tiny cock
Hopefully we see a Fire Emblem taking place in a slightly different era. Going from early-medieval > Renaissance in a single game with the theme being something about embracing change would be nice to see
Expand more on having the enemies use the same tools and mechanics as the player, it was one of the best things Conquest did for the gameplay.
Have enemies who use battalions, adjutants and special moves more often.
Also, have more classes that are more gimmicky, like Conquest did. I'd love a beast-master class that has a Black-Beast style pet.
you can scrap the setting but keep an explorable hub, maybe a roaming one that changes set-up based on wherever you are in the story
Forget the concept. how about they don't fuck up the cover art next time?
fuck I hate that user who mentioned it. Can't unsee it for fucks sake
Yeah, a kind of base camp to explore would be fine. They wouldn't even have to change it that much along the way, just some of the background scenery. The lecture mechanics could also easily stay as "weekly weapons practice" or whatever.
test
3H artist was better than Kozaki
For sure.
I think the base-stuff honestly helps to bridge the gap between the RPG story elements and the tactical elements, keeps a good reminder why your units aren't faceless generics.
Kozaki does some things well but other things poorly.
I think he has an issue with character expressions, even though the actual faces and such are more varied.
My only real complaint is that I feel like his designs actually got worse going from Awakening to Fates, something about them seemed a lot less vibrant and interesting
Conquest and Echoes cover arts are pure kino
bro how hard is it to literally retreat your dying unit before they get killed by anything instead of leaving everything to luck and rewinding/resetting when it doesn't go your way?
that first playthrough where everything goes wrong and some of your more valuable units die but you force yourself to roll with the punches is fucking magical, give it a try someday instead of being an autist
forget the 6 fingers, what the fuck is up with that neck?
Ah yes, so they can ruin Advance Wars too?
Just fucking nuke the franchise already
>retreat your dying unit before they get killed by anything
this concept limits difficulty and the amount of enemies that can feasibly attack you in a single wave. only letting weak units die is the thing that prevented the past 7 fire emblems from allowing mechanics like ballista spam and mass reinforcments, and rewind allows for things like the gronder field where they will gladly put an entire regiment of cavalry and pegasus knights behind your mages and archers on turn 3
Ditch studio khara. The 3d cutscenes were so much better I don't know why they even bothered with the awful anime
Hopefully they keep changing it up. Also, bring back the rescue command
Maybe if its only limited to ground units. Rescue and horses just leads to massive unit imbalance.
>6 fingers
Holy shit I had never seen it until now.
Horses will always be better than infantry as long as they have more Mov
FE16 doesn't exactly care about the imbalance seeing as they gave them Jugdral/Tellius style Canto back
The school element itself is fine, but I wouldn't want it to return. It would feel lazy if they reused it. I like some of the mechanics it brought though, and they should be implemented in different ways in future installments. Mostly how they handled the class system and weapons, at least in my opinion.
Horses cant use glorious fist
Plz Explain how is this a shovelware
Advanced wars was always shit and theres a reason why it died.
Tbh, both are great and we need advance wars to comeback.
They both suck dick compared to Hidari.
>shovelware
how cute. baby learned a new buzzword and is trying to inject it into a conversation
>Do you think they'll keep the school element,
I hope not. I don't hate it, but I don't want it to be the norm. It does drag on and become a chore. I just want to get on with the game sometimes, not fuck about doing dumb tea parties and shit
The main problem I think the game had there was that the option to skip all the School stuff was there's by resting on those days, but the School stuff was also semi-essential to gameplay which meant that you practically had to do it to get the most out of the game.
It's how you keep students happy to build up weapon proficiencies during class time, build up points for supports, get Byleth themselves to rank up weapon proficiencies, recruit students, etc. So even if it drags, you need to do it or else you lose out on a lot. At least, for the first half of the game, I'd say.
I think they could have handled it better, though I'm not exactly sure how. Could have been made more interesting at the very least. I don't hate the school portions and setting, but it does drag the game's pacing down when you want to skip to the next fight, but need to spend time on useless stuff to make sure everything is going right.
They will absolutely keep a lot of the same systems, like the ability to focus train some of your units, but it won't be a school setting again.
When does Lorenz show up at the bridge post timeskip?
>Improve the support system, go from G-F-E-D-C-B-A-S or something instead of just C-B-A-S
>Let you pick between multiple outfits for each unit
>Make gifts more valuable and personalized for each unit
>Have well made CG art for each unit pairing
>Allow units to go on actual dates with each other
>Include a tasteful sex scene for each support
>Remove weapons
>Remove classes
>Remove enemies
>Remove battes
>Remove story
Fixed.
>limit it to 2
>never use artist again
No you fucking faggot
>awakening and fates
Bait post detected
>I'm guessing that they're going to remake some of the older games.
I'd like to see 6+7 married together in a 2 generation game like 4. Your MU could be Mark obviously, who could be written a more involved role as an amnesiac stray morph or something. Or just remake 4 I guess--I would love if they got Hidari back for that.
I
LIKE
DOROTHEA
Dorothea is cute! CUTE!
This is my first FE game, and I just played the map wth skull knight and all the teleporters.
That shit was just the least amount of fun I have experienced in years. What the fuck was that shit? Not only does this game look like a ps2 game, but it plays like some crusty ass grandpa game with some incel waifu mechanics tacked on. Does it even get better at least?
I don't mind choices in vidya, but having one side go seemingly insane and the other suddenly going into a murderous rage and wanting you to kill someone, then forcing you to choose between one of them without a "what the fuck is going on, guys?" is kinda silly.
No, you apparently just probably aren't a fan of tactical RPGs. Which is fine, but if you aren't, FE isn't the series for you.
Sounds like the Death Knight fucked your little bussy all night long.
Perhaps try Easy mode? It may be more your speed :^)
>choices
>but the first 60% of the game is the same, just different leaders
>post time skip they use same maps aside from a few uniques
>bullshit like titty MILF going Empire if you join Kingdom and joining Kingdom if you go Empire
Get rid of turn based combat
>bullshit like titty MILF
They imply and later make it clear that she was doing whatever the slitherers thought best with her position. God I want to see her slitherer form so bad.
Play Fire Emblem Warriors then.
>to actually side with edlegard you have to talk to her during exploration
>my support is high enough but my save file is to far back
god I'm irradiated dimitri didn't have this bullshit
I'm tired of the main villain being an evil monster or a power-mad diety. Just have the story be about humans fighting each other without one evil wizard dude secretly pulling the strings.
Maybe have war break out after the emperor of the continent dies and different kingdoms take the opportunity to either declare independence or rally under a new emperor to unite the continent again. They could even have a similar tactical aspect to games like Pokemon Conquest or Sengoku Rance where you are slowly trying to take over the entire map.
You forgot adding back the child system
Actually he bounced before we could even fight. What pissed me off was the snail pace my units had trying to explore the entire map through the teleporters. Meanwhile niggers with bows were blasting away at us through walls.
They should make it like awakening where u travel around a map except u have to maintain supplies like Oregon trail to maintain morale or something. Fucking bug men always trying to put highschool shit into everything.
But how do you make a normal human challenging as a final boss fight without some kind of special power? Especially since you can just gang up on them
>Franchise about war
>Work in a Persona school mechanic
FE is dead.
Four routes kept it interesting enough for replayability, focus on harder maps next game. Liked the combo, autística enough for stat guys or you could just skip all of it. Side stories and prologues are fun. Hope they improve on visuals next game too
I literally just did that map, it's easy user.
>Send 1-2 units through the right side teleporter to take care of the annoying archers (optional)
>Send the rest to the left, fight through the enemies and head north until the path splits to the right
>Head to the right, then down through the enemies until you get to the final door
>Open door, surround death knight, then push his shit in
Fuck the teleporters, you can completely skip em if you want to
Ashnard was the final boss of PoR riding high on nothing but fat stats and a lot of generals.
>based
>based
>based
>cringe
>based
Yep I'm thinking he's based
I think it was an interesting mechanic and setting to have for this game as it explored something new to the franchise, but it should by no means become a mainstay. Exploring an academy setting with a war phase for one game is fine. Making that the general setting and formula of every future game would be complete shit.
Keep going the way they're going, FE oldkeks need to be run out of the fanbase.
You could make the map itself more challenging rather than making a single unit more powerful. You could also have shit like dragons or some other monsters appear in the game, they just aren't all controlled by some Gharnef-type dude.
I don't think it should go anywhere. If you don't like it, play something else.
The franchise just needs a few tweaks like not making the main characters incredibly broken, reintroduce side-objectives or other incentives to play efficiently, reintroduce grading like in the GBA games.
But wouldn't that feel a little anti climactic?
Imagine spending an hour or more on the final stage, fighting through countless waves of top tier enemies, when you finally get to the final boss, the one behind everything...and then you immediately kill him with a 2x iron lance hit from your half retarded cavalry
The final enemy has to be memorable, at least make it something unique
Oi, cunts does claude always attack you on the second run of the battle of the eagle and the lion (part two)?
He said something about observing, but he attacked me anyway (when edelgard was almost done for)...
Im playing blue lions btw.
Magic will still exist in the game so having the final boss get corrupted with dark magic and becoming a monster is still an option. Besides, all FE games usually have some sort of monster as the final boss, if anything having a non-monster final boss would make it more memorable.
I want Conquest level maps but for not a single one of its horrible mechanics to return.
Actually I take it back, daggers and debuff stacking can come back. Everything else says
I hate strategy based combat, I'm more of a turn based guy. But I love persona 3, 4 and 5. Will I like this if I really try to like the combat?
The school element was more of a one time thing I think. They could probably work in the lecture mechanics into a sort of war training thing if they really wanted to as well, but I'm not sure if they would, in its current state at least.
He does. He goes full retard and says "uh, just swing at anything that moves". You have to beat both Edelgard and Claude for that map anyway, which is stupid but I guess they thought it would be cool.
It depends why you don't like strategy games. If you dislike them because you're a brainlet who lacks the mental capacity to think a couple of steps ahead then you probably won't enjoy the game, but even then this game is pretty easy since your units are so powerful and you could always rewind time if you make a few mistakes (or you could play casual and not have to worry about permanently losing units).
If you like Persona, you'll love 3 houses. The battle system is easy enough to grasp, and it's not a hard game by any means. I'd advise playing hard/casual if you're new to fire emblem though. Hard because Normal is insultingly easy, and casual because you probably don't want to deal with unit permadeath on your first run through
A school setting and Calendar does not equal Persona, this shares no similarities to persona other than that.
The game is a turn based tactics game, similar to FFT or Devil Survivor. If that doesn't sound appealing to you don't bother, forcing yourself to like something isn't healthy.
Which FEs are considered to have the most well written stories?
Which FEs in general are considered the best in the series as a whole?
Honestly the only thing they have to do is not have a kneejerk reaction to 3H's popularity and crank out a 3H clone as soon as possible to cash in on the popularity. They tried to make Awakening 2 with Fates, and it was awful.
I was always bored of such games, clicking them over to an area and stuff. Like tank wars and such, very boring to me. Like how some people hate turn based combat like octopather or pokemon which I really like.
I understand what to do but it's just yawn inducing. On the other hand I love the persona series, what makes it like persona? Dating? Life events? I can really get into that.
In general, the simple stories are better because the writers are incapable of writing a complex story without it falliing apart as soon as you pay a little bit of attention.
There's not many similarities. There's supports, which are your standard character scenarios/social link/etc sort of things. They're students for half the game. It's technically turn based. You can romance someone in the last five minutes of the game.
If you're looking for Persona it's not really here.
Fire the CGI Department, hire someone fucking fluid
No. It's nothing like Persona in any capacity.
I have the feeling that they might actually do a sci-fi Fire Emblem game, maybe like in SMT IV where it starts medieval but then they go to a futuristic civilization. I mean Awakening was supposed to took place on Mars
The dating simulator aspects are limited to a handful of support conversations and the option to have tea parties. If you're solely interested in the game because of the waifu-sim aspect then I'd advise against buying it.
It's nothing like Persona, I don't know why you're so fixated on that.
If anything, its school system does what I wish persona did, where it just goes through an entire week after you make your plans for your students.
I can sit here and list all the ways that it's like persona, but I'm just gonna say you should just get 3 houses. It's not a carbon copy of persona at all, but it's decently similar.
As for the battle system, it's really fun if you like that kinda stuff. Watch a few battle videos and see if it looks good to you.
One thing that definitely won't go away is the ability to walk around your base and talk to your units. It won't be a school next time, but you'll absolutely be able to walk around your war camp/castle/whatever and gain Support points with your squad.
I thought it looked pretty good to be honest. There we some points where it actually looked 2D, other than the 2D parts of course.
Wait what the fuck is this?
I’ve only played BL and just started GD.
Dubstep niggers
Those who Dubstep in the dark
Seething ThreeHousesfag
it's in church and gd
What in the flying fuck is this XCOM looking level? This is some new level stupidity in FE.
horses are dogshit in 3h
Similar in a lot of ways but a different setting and a way bigger/more fleshed out hubworld. Also just spend more time polishing it, Three Houses is pretty good but it feels cheaply made at times, go full HD big budget and all that. Bring ninjas back also
>what makes it like persona?
Nothing much really even supports are done differently to Persona. The only real similarity comes from the school setting but you're doing that from the side of the teacher rather than the student.
Ultimately if you're going at it expecting something like Persona you'll be disappointed.
This, I don't want FE to go the way of Pokemon where it becomes more popular but they don't allocate more money to the budget to reach the quality demanded by its popularity
Not that more money would change that.
Imagine losing for the past 15 years
I just started the game and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Is there a limit to how many members I can recruit from other houses or no? Also what class should I look into turning Marianne?
What am I supposed to be seeing?
In hindsight it's not such a big deal, but it just felt like a chore. Also got really tempted to look up a guide to get through it quick, but I would be ashamed to be such a spineless pussy.
I want the pair-up system back, like the thing where placing units next to each other you get 2x attack or higher def etc., same for enemies
I also want marriage to be more than just a thing right at the end of the game.
Awakening sequel
If you can't see it, then don't look for it. You don't wanna know
What items are in the chest on chapter 14? Also why the fuck are there only 3 keys?
Based
No limit. I have Marianne as a Holy Knight and she has great sword and spear abilities too.
Anti-climax is a narrative tool that can be used just as well as any other if it's done intentionally. It requires the entire story be written to support it though, and will always be a brainlet filter, but could ultimately be very memorable.
Holy Knight for Marianne.
I don't care about multiple routes if you can save before the split.
I'd love to play all the routes in three houses if it didn't mean having to do part 1 over and over again.
>mfw all the master class mastery abilities
OH BOY +6 RES/STR/MAG at 1/4 health. AMAZING!
All games on the Switch are shovelware, haven't you heard?
