Come on dude, that ending was litterally the best IF you had been following the series every entry since at least MGS at launch. Especially if you went in totally blind. In fact, I'd go as far as to say MGS4 was pretty fantastic in general the first play through.
Also, I'm a retard and went in to MGS3 totally blind my first playthrough. I was totally confused, wondered just how old snake was given the game took place in the 60's. It wasn't until he lost his eye that I realized you actually played as Big Boss. If you loved MGS and went into each entry at launch genuinely blind, there wasn't a more kino rollercoaster ride in vidya.
