Yeah, it's kino
Dead Space 2

I like the expanded lore, but nothing beats one
I just completed one again for the first time in years, and never played 2. I fired up 2 and immediately hated what they've done to the game. Does it get better after the tutorial zone?
DS1 is good, but this makes it better IMO

i feel like 2 peaks around the part where you meet the clever girls, which is about 1/3 to 1/2 of the game
i can't remember shit about the last zones other than soldier people and final boss
same
arguably 1 is more repetitive, but the atmosphere is absolute kino
Okay so keep going but stop when it starts tanking? Got it.
I really loved Dead Space 1 on PS3; those graphics were insane and the UI is a masterpiece.
na game is still a 7-8/10 and a good sequel
just don't bother with 3
Oh yeah I already know I'm going to avoid 3 hard
Since halloween is coming up, I'll seriously consider playing all the way through. Just as soon as I'm finished with my replay of RE4 on Gamecube
Why is this so fucking kino?
2 is seriously incredible. You should really give it a chance. Isaac's character is so much more interesting than the blank slate of 1. Not to mention it just has better set pieces and armor designs
Classic aiming > center aiming
You cannot deny this
1 is great. Absolutely atmospheric
2 is all about the action. Done right cant complain.
3 is the damned redheaded stepchild. It's been argued that EA wanted them to hurry up so they could embellish in thse sweet sweet microtransactions, which I agree with, but it's still worth a play especially in co op with its DLC.
I wouldn't pass any of them up.
fpbp
Dead Space 3 is objectively less shit than RE4 you retard
>want to replay the original
>chugs and stutters constantly on my 144hz gsync monitor regardless of vsync settings
It's not fair bros. This was such a shitty pc port and it's only going to become worse over time.
Idk man. The whole scavenging for resources bit is kinda fucking retarded.
Paying for it is on a whole new level of retarded.
RE4 didn't have to shill for that kinda shit.
1 > 2 > 3
1 has perfect pacing
2 has better setpieces but has a few parts that are boring
3 is a 6/10 game and still worth playing if you are interested in the story/lore, despite the shooting mechanics and level design feeling sonewhat unpolished compared to 1 or 2. I had no problems with resources despite the microtransactions stuff.
overall a good series, despite 3 being flawed.
Turn off in game vsync. Use Nvidia control panel to set it. Mission accomplished
2 lost me when Clarke fell out of a train and made a snide remark to his ear piece about it being the last stop or some shit. In 1 he was just a blank slate, some poor asshole in the wrong place at the wrong time. In 2 they made him nathan drake.
Not that it's a bad game, but the horror aspect of it was terrible, and that's what I was hoping for coming out of 1.
Isaac is nothing like Nathan Drake you fucking idiot, and the horror aspect is absolutely still their. This isn't the same Isaac from 1. He's seen some shit and lived through it, in 2 he is real fucking angry and already knows how to kill necromoprhs. The fact that your brain fails to understand this is pathetic
There*
Furthermore this is more like Aliens as opposed to Alien. They're both fantastic in different ways.
not him, but
>turn off vsync
>start a new game
>sit through 12 minutes of cut scenes and filler
>finally about to start playing
>very first door is actually not passable after opening because it's tied to some kind of frame rate nonsense
>tried multiple times with vsync enabled/disabled, nvida ctrl panel saying enabled/disabled
fuck it, I'll just pretend that I played it. I imagine a slightly slower Dead Space 2 with fewer weapons and explosions.

The Alien/Aliens comparison is spot on, they are both good in different ways. Like Aliens though, Dead Space 2 isn't horror. Other than some token stuff like the haunted house pop-up necromorph in the beginning and some spooky children's drawings lying around, it's basically an action game.
FUCK YOU
Dead Space is almost exactly the Alien trilogy.
1 is super atmospheric, and straight horror
2 expands things to be much bigger, and is hard action horror
3 is garbage and we don't talk about it when we can avoid it
Also I haven't seen Alien 3, nor have I played Dead Space 3
So I'm talking a bit out of my ass on that one
I'd say 1 is horror action and 2 is action horror
The dlc for dead space 3 is the only somewhat redeeming factor for the game.
There is no Alien 3 and there is no Dead Space 3
>that credit song
It’s all coming back
I want to play it on hardcore but I never have the courage to do it
Was the multiplayer any good?
fpbp
Uh, I'm thinking this is hella based?
this was back when EA had those stupid ass online passes you had to buy. I never played it
Thanks faggot you just made me spend $15 for deadspace on xb1
I got DS2 for free on there a few months ago
>I want to play it on hardcore but I never have the courage to do it
Do a hardcore plasma cutter only run you fucking baby
2 is a more fun game but 1 has the better atmosphere and novelty
2 is like the dessert after 1 the meal
I liked my maxed out extremely high rof corrosive spike rivet chain gun with underslung time slowing 12 gauge shotgun. It made it easier to take in my surroundings more when nothing could survive my bullet hose.
Yeah people with PTSD often become quippy and talkative.
The best parts of 3 are the ship graveyard and right after you crash into the planet and are fumbling around in the blizzard with necromorphs bursting out of snow drifts.
Surprisingly decent for something tacked on as an after thought, though the bullshit of the "bomb" carrier only being able to slow walk to the objective sucked ass at times especially if your entire team fucks off and just wants kills.
One of the things I love about 2 is how it loaded the levels live without cutting away to a load screen, so you could potentially play the whole thing in one almost seamless experience
