I already 100% you 11 times as a kid. You're nothing but a display piece for me now
>only 11
>not 20
Kys.
Ape Escape is better
I ONLY HAVE SPYRO 2
Waiting for remake to hit PC.
I play you all the time.
Actually only Reignited because I don't have my PS3 anymore
>i only have the worst spyro
???
2>3>1
3 > 1 > 2
Except that 2 pioneered most concepts present in 2 you fucking retard. You can't like 3 without liking 2. Your order makes no fucking sense.
I want to fuck the goat
2>1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Played it already. Have nice collection of not so legit spyro game copies. going from just a black marker to black and white and finally full color covers
I just got done playing your HD twin instead.
present in 3*
sorry it's late
>having such shit taste
the fuck is wrong with you
1 > 3 > 2
>2 pioneered most concepts present in 2
>being a barafag
I respect your opinion but I'm afraid that I must disagree.
3 > 2 > 1 but all are good
An idea alone doesn't make something good. Execution is also important.
>not appreciating how you can dab on gnorcs
Because you're shit.
I play you almost every day now. You've treated me well over the past 22 years. Thank you for being a friend to my son, just like you were to me. I'm sorry for what Universal and Activision did to you. I wish I could have stopped it.
You can play a better game instead you contrarian.
>1 > 3 > 2
this is correct
I hope that because Toys for Bob did all of the Spyro 1 remake and outsourced the other two that we'll get a new Spyro game like 1
Rate them based on music, for me it's:
2>1>3
why would i play 2, the least interesting entry in the game that feels the most rushed?
1>2>3
Music
1 > 2 > 3
Worlds/levels
1 > 3 > 2
Controls
3 > 1 > 2
They're all pretty even. 2 loses points for not having real hub world music I guess though.
You already posted it
Because it's not out yet on the PC and I'm not busting out my old ps1 copy. Unlike you SOULfags I actually think the remake looks good.
I'd switch 1 and 2 but 2 had some great ones as well
>Hurricos
>Breeze Harbor
>Fracture Hills
>Skelos Badlands
>Robotica Farms
>Metropolis
The first game's is perfect though
I thought they only outsourced 3?
I'm too busy playing a superior game
>anti piracy so strong it fucked everyone at the time
>crack groups even sent them a message saying how fun it was to crack because challenging
iconic
They outsourced parts of 2
they outsourced 2 and 3 for the remake. 1 was inhouse
Switch 2 and 1 as far as controls are concerned and I completely agree. The glitch jump in 2 is too fun to mess around with
and thats why its shit. yes its fun but it shouldnt be there. it makes an already trivial entry more trivial
Nobody plays Spyro for it's difficulty so trivializing it is a non issue.
right but that still doesnt justify putting 2 higher because of the doublejump bug
I literally am, I got to Dream Weavers this morning and took a break. I 100% you probably at least once a week. Always skip the bonus level though, because it's a hunk of shit.
I mean if people gain a higher enjoyment from its inclusion then why can't they put it higher than the others? This is all based on subjective opinions anyway.
I'll consider it when I play the Reignited trilogy when it hits PC.
The only good taste in this thread
because I'm more of a crash guy
How hard is it to just not use it lul. I discovered it after 100%ing the game loads of times and found that I had much more reason to keep playing 2 after that. Additional exploration
why do you have that image saved, user
Delete this image post-haste.
but I literally am right now
just beat gnasty gnig and now i'm going to loot his treasure
I am a degenerate and I find padded vidya characters amusing
Pretty evenly 1 > 2 > 3
1 wins by virtue of having rad shit like Twilight Harbor and Blowhard and Magic Crafters. 2 only loses the edge slightly. 3 had that second guy composing a couple tracks, it's still good but not every level is super memorable. It also has a fuck ton of issues with playing the wrong tracks, the final boss uses the first homeworld's theme in the initial release.
>that one room with all the explosive vases that go off like dominos
So satisfying, I envy you.
that's #1 by a large margin, but here's another i like.
youtube.com
>this entire stream
how would you feel if a speedrunner shows up and shits all over a game you poured your soul into?
youtube.com
3 is the weakest by far, it's just a shittier version of 2.
>half the time spent playing as characters who are less fun than Spyro
>even more minigames which are also more annoying
>most of the levels are lazy, just real world culture/location but with animal people
>clearly rushed, all kinds of problems with incorrect music playing and bugs that can prevent 100% completion
MY PS4 DOESN'T HAVE BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY
2>1>3
I watched this the day it came out. They just couldn't handle it
Amanda show theme song
I thought it was kind of funny as he knew more, or at least remembered more about how the game worked than they did.
>clearly rushed, all kinds of problems with incorrect music playing and bugs that can prevent 100% completion
literally how unless you triggered the anti piracy code
i got to personally thank ted in person for the anti piracy code. he wasnt sure how to reply to me.
YOUR PC HAS EMULATION
EXCUSE NOT PERMITTED
to be fair they do a lot of shit in their time at the company, id forget all the shit i did too.
>did we put the hippies in with tiedye shirts?
>yeah we did
it was correct but it wasnt the iteration he remembered shipped. it happens all the time. its when this happens that they remember all the shit that DIDNT ship and mention it. its THAT content that really is special
pic related. they cut this enemy because they didnt know how to make it look good when turning. was a tiger or some shit
is there a single BAD song in all of the spyro trilogy?
We're talking about the original version here.
>leaving a speedway after starting the egg challenge but before collecting the egg prevents you from getting it next time you re-enter
>spyro.fandom.com
>all speedways use the same music
>Evening Lake uses Sunrise Spring music
>final boss uses Sunrise Spring music
The music got updated in subsequent re-releases, the Greatest Hits version and such.
I 100% you monthly, though.
i was not aware of this bug. nice
Because im not 11 yo, are there only kids and manchilds on Yea Forums?
Soon
Is Reignited good? Ive only ever played Spyro 1
It does the job.
It's a fine remake. I've got issues with it because I replay the originals a lot and can nitpick all the shit that feels off, but if you have no experience with them you won't care. The core of the gameplay is the same.
elora's ass
Legitimately no. Some tracks stand out way more though
Would you like them to try and make a Spyro 4, or would you rather them leave it be in case it turns out to be shit?
Hero's tail already exists and its great.
I would welcome an attempt. Several bad games followed the canonical trilogy but they don't taint the legacy in my eyes. As long as they book Stewart Copeland for an OST I'm game
I already 100% it this year
It's a complete downgrade. Visually, control-wise, etc. so no. I mean you can if you want, but I don't know why you would other than morbid curiosity.
It wouldn't really be hard to make. They have everything ready, even if it ends up a bad Spyro game it'll be fun to play regardless. I'd totally support a new game, more than a new Crash.
I'd like a Spyro 4 if they go back to platforming like Spyro 1 and drop the minigame shit.
The best one
You're the PAL version thats why
How soon is that coming?
It was okay. I wouldn't go so far as to call it great.
Didn't Activision say they want to make new shit for both Spyro and Crash?
I am, because the remake is fucking ugly.
2 made the concepts, sure. but most of the worlds arent fun, many feel incredibly rushed, and it isnt refined in any way. 100 percented it once on the ps1 and once remastered with no desire to do so again
it runs awful on a ps4 and xbox, i cant imagine how either ugly the switch version is, or how shit it is going to run. PC port is the one to get excited for with 60 fps and no motion blur
I have never played a Spyro game in my life, where do I start?
specifically because i can't get my universal remote to program with my Toshiba. i don't understand what i'm doing wrong. i'm gonna try pushing the buttons slower when i get home
the first 3 in whatever order you want. the gba games season of fire and ice are ok. dont touch the rest, they fucking suck
Fuck you, the skateboarding part was fun as fuck.
I played you last year, then I played the Reignited trilogy nine months later.
I think the original release also didn't play the cutscene that came before the fight with Spike.
i already played you during a few months ago
Name your favorite spyro level
1: Wizard Peak (Icy Flight favorite flight)
2: Breeze Harbor (Icy Speedway fav speedway)
3: Charmed Ridge (Honey Speedway fav speedway
3:
I literally clear you once a year. You're my favorite game ever, and an inspiration towards the game I'm currently working on. If I play you, I can't work on my game.
Hopefully you understand that. I still refer to you when I need good examples for color theory/use of contrast. I still believe Spyro 1 has the best use of color theory in any video game, period.
>spyro used to be green
>but one very sane person said "he blends in with the environment"
and it was the most important decision in this game's development
youtube.com
The hurricos level in spyro 2
youtube.com
Reignited is fucking great.
You should emulate 2 and 3 first before trying reignited.
If it weren't for the stupid thunder stone """challenge""" in that level it would be up there for me. Music, environment, enemies are all kino
I gotta admit, what they did to treetops was spectacular.
Consoles have a motion blur toggle now.
I know it's because we're used to seeing Spyro being purple, but it just looks so BAD in green.
It's hard for me to believe that they chose green as the initial color.
Hurricos soundtrack is Hurrikino
youtube.com
>Reignited is fucking great.
everything feels off on the controls
Might look a little better with actual textures.
1>2>3
3 really only has a few notable pieces for me, like the boss themes as an example. 2 has many good themes, but overall 1 has the strongest variety of music for me, even if there are a few that are just slower or faster versions of preexisting ones.
That's about as tough as naming a favorite individual Sonic zone. Probably Breeze Harbor.
>airship harbor is cool level theme
>cozy night time aesthetic with planets and stars in skybox
>enemies are amusing
>genuinely like the trolley minigame
TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY EH?
Because I've played you to completion at least 20 times in my life
>>genuinely like the trolley minigame
I have no fucking idea how people had trouble with that one, I thought it was fun. Looking back, I like how the track wound through the whole area as an actual part of the level itself. The minigames in 2 felt less intrusive than in 3 because many times they were built into the levels themselves like that and felt like an organic whole.
Because the third one is better
People have overblown how difficult/annoying a lot of the minigames from 2 and 3 are. I think they had trouble with something as a kid and either just never replay it or replay it going in with a stigma of "I don't like this, this is gonna suck" so it becomes a self-fulfilling prediction.
>catching thieves
>trolley
>alchemist
>hockey
>boxing
>snowboard race
Etc etc. The only thing I can still consistently fuck myself on is the water speed tunnels from 3.
You're really wrong.
I don't get why the trolley minigame is so infamous. It took me several tries, sure, but my reaction to messing up was always just, "Oh, well." The second round of the crystal popcorn minigame was the one that pissed me off. I swear the game eventually took pity on me and dumbed Hunter down so that he wouldn't get too far ahead of me.
How many people in this thread were born before 1995?
I know they implemented that dynamic adjustable difficulty thing in 3, not sure if it was in 2 or not.
I used to love these games so much as a kid. Ratchet and Clank and Insomniac's latest Spider-Man game completely refill with me with the magic and wonder the first 3 spyro games did. What is it about Insomniac that's so magical bros?
Also how long does spyro reignited take to beat? I want to play it but my backlog is already so massively long and has so many JRPGs
I'm waiting for the switch version. it'll be fun to revisit spyro 1 and 2 and play 3 for the first time. Also portability!
is that how you took that video? god what a fag. this was wholesome as fuck and not your autistic alternate reality "HURRR HE FELT HURT THEY BROKE HIS GAEMMM"
I've never seen anything about it in 2 either, so maybe I just finally got lucky and imagined the game going easy on me.
the only annoying things about the alchemist are how dumb his route is and that you have to redo it if you don't have the headbash
my language does not reflect my intended message.
to be fair the part where he corrupted vram is in fact breaking the game in a negative way
I can 100% Spyro 1 in under 3 hours and I fucking suck at vidya, it can't possibly take you very long. 2 and 3 have more content, but I can't imagine they take significantly longer.
>under 3 hours
user i just did this and it took my casual ass 4 hours. i doubt you could pull this off
I remember 9 year old me beat Spyro 3 in a few days but I was pretty much playing nonstop
I'm really glad to be seeing a Spyro thread every couple days with actual healthy conversation going on in them instead of endless shitflinging over the remake. I was kinda concerned there for a while.
boxing was so funny when i was a kid. my older brother couldnt do it, and he kept trying for an hour. i picked up the controller to try it and the game bugged out, where the other yeti wasnt attacking or blocking anything. i taunted him about how much better i was at boxing for years after that
the shitflinging will never end. its a choice to continue it or not
I finish that game every few years along with all my other playstation games.
>I already 100%
You never completed spyro as it has more than 100% to unlock and complete.
I spent all night playing Skullgirls until the wee morning hours and my brain is fried. Whoops.
Correct
Speaking of the Spyro 3 dynamic difficulty, I still think that's a fantastic way of doing difficulty in video games. Making it tougher and more challenging/engaging for people that are good at the game, and making it easier for people that have trouble with the normal difficulty. Makes me wish we got more of that in games in general.
Why do girls like Spyro so much?
>colorful fun fantasy aesthetic, but not overly cutesy/saccharine
>PC is a little kid, extra cute and endearing because he thinks he's a tough guy
>easy
Now I want a Spyro fan gf. I still haven't played the reignited trilogy because I don't want to play it alone.
Stay away from girls who are into dragons. They're 100% always extremely weird.
That's okay so am I.
good taste
1 >3>2
>haha come back later when you learn more moves
What the fuck were these retards thinking?
>Glimmer - need climbing
>Sunny Beach - need climbing
>Summer Forest - need climbing
>Fracture Hills - need headbash
>Shady Oasis - need headbash
Each of those levels can be like 95% completed before you leave the first time. The bit in Glimmer can even be bypassed with minimal effort without exploiting a glitch or anything. Meanwhile
>Mario 64: entirely built around revisiting the same levels over and over, early courses can't even be completed because they have stars that can only be gotten by unlocking the caps later
>Banjo Kazooie: Freezeezy and Gobi's Valley have a Jiggy that can only be gotten by using an ability from the other level, need speed shoes from later on to beat Mr. Vile if you can't git gud, have to come back to Treasure Trove Cove however many times to enter the Cheato pages
>Tooie: essentially a Metroidvania game
>Crash trilogy: have to come back to earlier stages after unlocking the gems in later ones
The only time it was really annoying was having to repeat the alchemist escort if you didn't know to skip it the first time anyway
Is the PC version coming soon? Waiting on those model rips
New statue.
>tfw original black label (non-platinum) ps1 games of spyro 1 and 3 on my working ps1 that is more than 20 years old
Zoomers will never understand.
Hands down my favourite level of the trilogy and they knocked it out of the fucking park with the remake.
lmao elora lookin like the mom from life with louie
Spyro, buddy, you know I play you nearly every 4~5 months since I got your demo back in the 90's, now wait until I complete my anual Banjo games run so I can complete your games again
September 3rd.
'91 here
born 1991
Got Spyro the same Christmas I saw Dragonheart the first time.
Good times.
fella, i replay you nearly every year in honor of my dead friend who i used to take turns with playing you.
spyro 2 is a much better experience when you just input the cheat that gives you all the skills. the only thing that does in eliminate back tracking.
Magic
The composition reminds me of the loading art in some Warcraft 3 maps
I don't think I'll ever be more disappointed in a game than Enter the Dragonfly. I remember beating it and going wait that's it?
Cause I'm replaying 3
Why is Spyro so cute guys
I saw an expression sheet for him in the concept art of Reignited and I just want to kiss all over his face
That stage always had intense Spyro 1 vibes, apart from the minigames in it.
>Dragonheart
Lmao i remember watching it on tv. It felt quite cheesy even back then
Cause cute sells copies
Only 100? Weak.
Tweak your plugins, tard.
>Spyro 4 is Spyro and the Elder dragons going on a war with Gnasty Gnorc and his minions.
That would be fucking sick.
>I'd like a Spyro 4 if they go back to platforming like Spyro 1 and drop the minigame shit.
This is why I prefer the original over it's sequels. The level design has been completely downgraded compared to the original game open environment in favour of bad mini-games. Spyro 2's were atleast okay for the most part but I cannot stand them in 3.
That last bonus world isn't even worth it, I barely ever bother to do it.
>here's your reward, you get to chase a couple passive thieves and two obnoxious fucks in planes while collecting a fuck load of gems just sitting around in the open
>you can fly freely, but you can only ascend after killing a thief, and you can't go all the way up into the sky
>music is the weakest track in the game
2 and 3 didn't have especially great bonuses either, but at least you had novelty value with a couple minigames, the permanent fireball in 2, and the real final boss in 3.
Enter the Dragonfly's pitch was Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto teaming up against you, but Gnasty Gnorc got cut with the other 80% of the game.
That explains why Ripto suddenly brings up his name in the opening cutscene. Because Ripto never even met Gnasty.
I've never played EtD myself, but after seeing footage of it, I'm amazed that Universal were content to release it in that state just to have it out in time for Christmas. It almost looks like a bootleg game.
You're stuck on consoles.
It was intentional.
That was cool. It was also great in Ratchet and Clank.
Fuck off.
stop that
Not bad, but the faces are a bit unsettling. I wish I'd gone for the classic statue when I had the chance.
oh
>model rips soon
Damn straight
