XIV has a really good presentation, and even though the graphics are not THAT good as people try to make you believe, they do a really good job at delivering a cool experience to the player.
But it just fails to capture the feeling of adventure and accomplishment other MMORPGs used to have.
You can call it nostalgia, you can call me a "boomer" and hey, you might be right, but there's a world of difference when you actually had to talk to other people, coordinate properly, and actually know your shit to go through a game's content.

I just wish the game was less about leveling up and getting to the end-game because that's where all the content is, and more about having meaningful content on the side everyone can do while experiencing the world. God fuck I miss FFXI, FFXIV is just not enough

The story almost becomes somewhat interesting with actual stakes at literally the very fucking end of ARR leading into the first expansion. I'd happily play XI again if they made a single-player version. Exploring that world was fucking amazing, because it had actual dangers and mysteries and felt big even though the zones weren't very large. Everything in XIV feels generic, small, underutilized and sterile. I played XIV on and off since 1.0, and I only occasionally go back because my best friend begs and begs me to, and I have to log in once in a while to shut him up, but I feel nothing at all for the game, except contempt for its blandness.

What the fuck is this card system? "The Arrow" somehow boosts melee damage. How does this make any fucking sense? The other cards other than Spear have nothing to do with melee/ranged either. And then they grant these color-coded seals, but the Card icons don't even reflect the colour of the seals they grant either. Am I supposed to memorize this like I'm studying for a test? Shouldn't this be intuitive or something?

MSQing as a DPS is a good idea since the story quests give fast XP and you don't have to wait in long queues as often. The "optimal" way would be to level a tank or healer alongside your DPS while you do the MSQ so you can instantly get into dungeons/trials while you reap the story quest xp for your dps

That's where the challenge of BLM comes in, you need to have fight awareness to know where you should be standing at any given moment. They give you tools to give you more mobility as needed, but yeah you still gotta know the fight for optimal damage.

Also, BLM's rotation optimal rotation probably changes more than any other class while leveling. Your rotation at level 50 is definitely different than level 60.

It won't matter til you reach Heavensward, but I highly recommend leveling Dark Knight as soon as you get there. It has the best quest classline hands down. Unfortunately unlike all the new classes they've added since, you actually have to reach the main town in Heavensward to access the new classes, unlike Samurai and Red mage, which you can unlock as soon as you hit 50, for instance.

Nah, you're averaging out to about the same amount of kenki spent on Shintens as you were in Stormblood because of how much more frequently you're using Midare Setsugekka. The difference isn't readily noticeable unless you're mentally factoring out the Kaiten you're using on MIdares.

There are strong monsters that spawn in each zone, you've probably seen them. You kill them, get a special currency that can be turned in for stuff.

To access Shadowbringers's hunts, you are gonna need to unlock all the hunt tiers of ARR, HW, and SB first, though it's basically just talking to the person over and over again because you unlock new tiers as you level.

There's B ranks which you can kill by yourself, but you only get tokens if they are on the hunt list that day/week, theres A rank which you can generally kill with a few people, but solo is probably out of the question, and S rank which will need a group of people. There are hunt linkshells that you can join that have people who just constantly look for A and S rank monsters to kill. There's also often trains for them.

Blood of the Dragon can be removed from DRG at this point

I've healed as WHM with a diurnal AST on E2S. It's not too shabby since you only need mitigation for the final quietus spam and temperance/CU/CI provides enough for it.

I still find it comfier to co heal with an AST than with a SCH, majority of them are going balls deep on ED and force the whole healing into the co healer.

THeres nothing I hate more than being a healer and having a tank with welfare gear. Just did Vault and the tank was rocking unaugmented ironworks gear (lvl 50 gear in a 57 dungeon). The gear of the dps wasn’t great either, it was fucking hell. They should really enforce an ilvl requirement on tanking in msq dungeons because holy fuck, that was unacceptable

The mid 20s into mid 30s is the absolute worst for DoH, which isn't what you'd expect. EXP comes real fucking easy from that point on, especially since beast tribe crafter quests boost you along for almost no effort.

He did want the rejoining to happen and the WoL screwed that up, and now the situation on Hydaelyn is a mess for the Ascian plans as Zenos is in charge and doesn't want Black Rose being deployed. At this point the best he can hope is that Zenos kills everyone and Elidibus can retry the light rejoining in a thousand years or so
