2019 is almost over and nothing else came out.
Of the three contenders, which one is the best action game of 2019?

I'll have to get back to you later on that one.
Sekiro
dmc5
it has the better gameplay although sekiro has the better artstyle and level design, not gonna comment on astral chain besides that it looks pretty boring from what i saw on youtube
we can't be sure until it comes out but probably Astral Chain. DMC V was good but was mostly the same mechanics as the other DMC games. Sekiro is only notable for its difficulty. If astral chain ends up sucking then Sekiro is the best
>Sekiro is only notable for its difficulty.
What? Sekiro is not difficult. It's for sure easier than any Souls game.
Astral Chain.
It's true that it isn't out yet but it's the only innovative title of the three.
Is that why everyone made a fuss about how difficult it was while no other souls game had that kind of response?
RE2
The majority of the people that made a fuss were journos. Everyone I've personally talked to that's played the game say that the difficulty is just fine.
As someone who played all the Soulsborne games except for Demon's Souls, I found Sekiro to be easier than the Souls games.
The whole fuss made evident that a lot of people, especially journalists, are too dependent on summons and broken builds (especially summons) so the game that had neither became insurmountably for them.
What's so innovative about it?
yeah but of these three games I'd say it's the hardest
Astral Chain; no one in the industry comes close to Platinum Games' mastery of action games.
What games will Geoff consider for GOTY?
Right, but they never complained about the other games that hard. That’s the point.
>RE2
>Action
The Legion system.
Meanwhile DMC V and Sekiro are just regurgitating the same tired combat systems used by DMC 4 and Souls
They didn't need to because they could be carried or could break the game in half.
Have you heard of Chaos Legion?
Astral Chain isnt even out nintendie
>choppy 30fps
>takes the worst parts of nier, mgr, and bayonetta and mashes them together
oof! yikes! this one aint it chief! bad take!
Can't you just enjoy them all?
Route B of Nier is in Astral Chain?
Everything they've done except W101 is a watered down Bayonetta clone.
Only 1 can win action game of the year
I love W101 and think it's the best 8th-gen title, or at least top 5, but a lot is borrowed from Bayonetta/DMC. However, it does enough that it doesnt feel copypasted.
Astral chain isn’t out til the 30th niggy
>2019 is almost over
>still in that period where you feel like the year just began, still not over the fact its 2019 and 2018 is already long gone
>keep referring to a 'few months ago' like you're talking about october when that is nearing already a year
Only game I played this year is Yakuza 0, just got on chapter 6 and I've been playing it every night since March 12th. I did play Dusk but I started that in december and beat it in feb. i take too long playing shit now.
Sekiro
Astral Chain is guaranteed to be the worst.
>releases 8/30
>only has 30 frames
Makes you think
sekiro hands down
it has the nintendo logo on the box.
Astral Chain isn't even out how are you going to judge it without playing it faglord
I think Bayonetta is a genuine masterpiece of the genre, but it just seems like Platinum hasn't really done anything to push the envelope further since that. I can respect them selling themselves as "we can make a steady action game for you" company so they can actually make money. I just wish they'd do something experimental and cutting edge again.
Sekiro, Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2, DMCV and Outer Worlds will likely be contenders, gotta wait for Astral Chain and Code Vein to come out first. I doubt DxM will make it
Yeah I can agree with that. Vanquish isn't perfect, but it was something besides combos upon combos. Maybe Anarchy Reigns spooked them from branching out
Code Vein will be a piece of shit so cross that one out.
That you’re a retard?
Yeah definitely
Just because it has a bunch of fan service doesn't mean it's going to be shit
Who knows, maybe it will even be 24fps on the newer Switch models
Journalist thay relied too heavily on souls MP to beat the game
Sekiro is souls but toned down
Imagine playing new game plus on souls but the enemies aren't tanks or smarter and you're still OP. That is sekiro in a nutshell
>Clunky Souls clone (even for Souls standard) >Main selling point is anime tits
>Made by God Eater developers.
There is no way it is going to be a passable game, let alone a good one.
It's just not possible.
>he still uses the charm on NG+
At least we know one person in this thread didnt platinum Bloodborne in a week
Sekiro is easy once you get gud but the learning curve is much higher at the start and it takes a lot longer to master. Souls is harder throughout because the controls are always clunky and shitty and the game is a chore to play.
Oh man I forgot about Vanquish.
I liked god eater but holy fuck the floatiness is unreal
It’s like someone gave everyone hover boots
>Sekiro is souls but toned down
Imagine being this fucking brainwashed. Sekiro is the closest Fromsoftware has gotten to making "hurd gaem". I bet my liver that your favorite souls trash are the most watered down ones too.
As you should. It's trash.
Sekiro is From’s attempt at making an all around perfect game and not just a niche concept sandbox game. They try to tie story and abilities all together into the playstyle and it’s more like Zelda or MGR than an RPG like Fable or Witcher
Welcome to being past 25 years of age.
>2019 is almost over
Jumping the gun a bit, aren't we? 4 months is a quarter of a year, that's not that little.
Astral Chain isn't out but Sekiro left a better lasting impression than DMC5. DMC5 was literally just more of the same with a unsatisfying story.
I'm 35 years old with a full time job and still this year I managed to finish three medium games, get near the end of two long ones and spend a lot of time in a couple multiplayer ones.
The "tired gamer" is just someone who doesn't like videogames in the first place.
Sekiro is a modern day classic and will be revered here in 5 years. Especially when the inevitable downfall of From happens in about 10 years.
This.
>Sekiro is From’s attempt at making an all around perfect game
It's just an action game nigga calm down
>They try to tie story and abilities all together
Not really. Most of those things are just gimmicks. Like they just took the normal health bar and split it in 2 for no reason. Being able to die once does absolutely nothing in terms of gameplay.
It's already happening; it's named Elden Ring.
>making an all around perfect game
I liked Sekiro but come on. Stop worshiping From
I uh... I don't remember mentioning anything about a "tired gamer".
What I was trying to insinuate is that time just flies by when you get past a certain point in your life. Mostly happens when you have far too much going on in life to be able to pay attention to time. I myself play too many games as it is, but thankfully it's the only thing I need to pay attention in life after work.
I have played many many games. Sekiro is definitely one of my favourites.
Elden Ring will surpass all expectations and go down in gamer history as a classic. Meanwhile, Sekiro will be forgotten by all but the most autistic of fans.
at least wait for death stranding. There is a small chance it will be action
My one playthrough of Sekiro where exploration and backtracking led me to the best boss and ending felt much better than S-ranking DMD mode and clearing BP. DMC5 had too much fanservice and held back on anything interesting like V or changing up Dante's styles. Even Nero plays exactly like he does in 4 once you beat the game. This led to DMC5 feeling hollow, like The Force Awakens, and I fucking hate how people defend both with the same phrases
>but they HAD to play it safe
They absolutely didnt, and no strawman of accusing people wanting a drastic God of War-style change will change that
Coincidentally I turn 26 tomorrow
I only work 8 hours a day leaving me from 2:30 pm till about 2 am to do things. If I didn't focus on other stuff like I used to then I'd have nearly 12 hours a day to play.
fukken RIP, dude
Piece of advice from someone over 30: Exercise. You'll regret it if you don't. Just go for a 30 minute walk every day. Doesn't even have to be a power walk. A brisk pace, every day, will get you in a good place.
Yeah I still have the same 13 year old body. Metabolism very high and the only real exercise I get is working and doing house work. I sometimes eat a ton too. My deepest fear is by 30 I'll lose even this and that'll be it. I'm 5'9, and wear a 29 in jean waist size
Precisely why I say it. It's worth the effort, trust me. One of my little brother's friends, 28yo, had high ass metabolism his whole life but he never exercises. He's begun to put on a beer belly because of it.
Elden Ring will be a Witcher clone.
Granted, it will be hailed as a classic and will be a commercial success. No one denies that.
But, for me it will be a text box reading piece of shit.
If it's a Witcher clone with Dark Souls gameplay maybe it will actually be good then.
Astral Chain isn't even out yet, you donut.
Sekiro
DMCV, the game is pure action.
youtu.be
He was spamming these threads before Sekiro and DMC5 were out
Sekiro is great, but when things click in DMCV it becomes a blast to play, you feel like a force of nature.
Sure thing virgin
None of that felt particularly weighty though.
there is no way that he doesn't include Death Stranding, no matter how shit it might be
Post something weighty
Why is everyone listing almost only
Japanese games?
>Weighty
Because they are demons that can easily lift heavy things and wild massive swords like sticks?
The west is unable to make action games.
>tfw leave for basic training the day before Astral Chain comes out
>weighty means good
Who gives a fuck, DMC5 is by far one of the best action games of all time.
Can you name a Western action game that stands on par with DMC5?
I honestly forgot about it
I mean, I could see someone saying that DMC 5 has better gameplay than Sekiro, but the level design is kinda just hallways -> big room for a fight -> hallway again.
and that's okay
I have it placed 8th.
1. Ninja Gaiden Black
2. DMC1
3. Ninja Gaiden 2
4. DMC3
5. God of War
6. Bayonetta
7. God of War 2
8. DMC5
9. MG Rising
10. Bayonetta 2
7 and 8 are interchangeable. DMC5 has far better combat, but GoW2 has a better game built around it.
2019 pretty much peaked in march with the Sekiro DMC5 combo.
Astral Chain might be cool, but the biggest flaw with Platinum outside Bayonetta, is that the games are all style and little substance.
kill yourself bootlicker.
Does Batman or Spider-Man count? Are you talking only the combat, or the full games themselves?
I have played many many games. Sekiro is just another neat game.
God of War 2018
Marvel's Spider Man
Fable
name 20 games you've played
>2. DMC1
>5. God of War
Oh, so you're one of those guys.
I give you props for not being a Bayo fanboy like half of Yea Forums seems to be.
One of what guys?
>God of war
Where's Nu GoW in yout list? It's literally weight: the videogame
>1. Ninja Gaiden Black
>2. DMC1
Found the fucking hipster.
I’ll tell you who
>Peanus
>Weenus
Too cool to like the later games on every series.
I think DMCV will win but I have high hopes for Astral Chain

I’ve played every single video game and hated all of them.
Objectively wrong since you can't massively overlevel for content or summon.
name 27 games from the last 7 years and 4 months that you have 100% on
see
I saw trailers on youtube
Okay but just to let you know, nobody is going to respect your taste.
Mario™ x27
This is a thread of DMC fanboys. Nobody has good taste here.
>GoW
>Nu-GoW
Yeah, they are cool but no where near as good in terms of gameplay mechanics(but I wouldn't say bad, just shallow) when compared to others action games.
AC
Death Stranding is winning The Game Awards Got. It could be utterly mediocre and it'd still win. Geoff verbablly sucks off Kojima every year.
Why the fuck does this question keep getting asked, Astral Chain isn't fucking out yet, just stop.
DMCV is going to be the best gameplaywise.
Astral Chain will probably beat the other two in content.
Sekiro wasn't bad either.
Just enjoy the fact that more than 0 action games came out this year.
W101 is nothing like Bayonetta. You have no idea what you're talking about, retard.
Sounds like a beehive in here with all those buzzwords. Must be part of the Yea Forums hi/v/emind
play without Kuro's charm and tell me if its easier than souls game. Souls games are easy as piss. Bloodborne and sekiro are the only hard games
Combat in Astral chain looks super awkward is there a demo yet?
It's shit. You just press AAAAAAA until the flash happens then you press another button and something exciting happens. Pathetic.
But it's a Nintendo exclusive so the Nintendies try and hype it up because they didn't get Sekiro or DMCV.
Is cool.
Thanks user
DMC5 on DMD was harder than my charmless NG+3 run.
DMC 5 is great.
Astral Chains looks promising
Sekiro is overhyped as fuck tho
>completely lacks reading comprehension
>calls this poster a retard
re-read the post you replied to. pay attention, brainlet.
