What the fuck was that ending The game started off interesting, then got a bit repetitive by the 3rd city, then suddenly got way better once you went down below But then you go back up and this barely established new mayor makes a super weapon out of Nevis that backfires, you blow it up with help from raven and the robot and it just fucking ends??? >what about the kids in the Ark >what about that thing the new mayor was holding at the end and whatever plans he had after the city fucking exploded >how did raven become a shitter after falling down into the ocean and how do shitters even work >what the fuck are the creators >what's up with all that backstory in the flashback that we never get to see >what is the ark and why does it work the way it does at all and why were there 2 of them and why were they down there >where do the nevi come from and what about that one that the girl kept in the bag and that hint that the nevi might be frens >why is there a great big cylinder in the middle of the world >HOW DOES EVERYTHING FLOAT WHAT THE FUCK One thing is sequel baiting, the other is just not finishing your fucking story I'm not getting a PS4 until I can find a cheap hackable one, so I won't be playing the sequel for a while, the first one on Vita is all I have for now It's a goddamn shame, it really is. Semi relatedly, the gameplay is fun, though a bit disorienting, and using gravity kick over and over gets old.
What are your experiences with Kat's game, Yea Forums? Am I the only one who's disappointed in the story?
>Am I the only one who's disappointed in the story? no
Jackson Gomez
It's not a secret that the story of GR1 and 2 is a clusterfuck. It can be good in the moment but when you look at the overall story, it is a mess. There's no reason to be playing these games for the story alone. The fun part for me was the physics. It felt really good to explore the world with the gravity mechanics and fighting was alright although generally not amazing. If that doesn't sound interesting to someone then there is no reason to play either GR game.
>I'm not getting a PS4 until I can find a cheap hackable one That's not going to be for a while. I think the last hackable firmware version of the PS4 is pretty old now and I haven't heard of recent progress to hack later firmware.
>the gameplay is fun, though a bit disorienting These games would be fun in VR
Robert James
>Am I the only one who's disappointed in the story? Not exactly. The game obviously had a sequel bait ending and after 2 years of waiting and getting no sequel announcement made the whole thing far more tense and frustrating. Then GR2 happened and, except for the couple trapped in time, it all had a great build up, from 1 to 2.
Aaron Edwards
GR2 has a first person mode. That should be a patch.
Brandon Scott
Don't worry OP, GR2 has weird pacing but it doesn't fuck you nearly as hard as one
James Russell
>Asking story questions without playing the sequel Not like it answers them really but it sets things up for a big reveal in GR3.
The ark gets retconned in the sequel by some time traveling bullshit in the raven dlc. Raven's backstory is also explained in more detail in her DLC. Stuff the new mayor was holding along with Kat's backstory also get explained in the sequel. As for the rest: pic related.
The story is fine. I actually like it. The idea of having Kat not trying to regain her memories is a plus. Even though there were characters that knew who she was, they tried to let her live her new life the way she wanted without having to constantly try to her if who she was or her mission which is the most common thing when it comes to protagonists that have amnesia

I'm drawing this dork right now. New game when?
Colton Wilson

Do you visit the draw threads?

the story in both these game are pretty shit fun games overall though
Are you talking about the first game? It was a tech demo and they ran out of time/funding, so needed to wrap things up at the end. There wasn't even plans or a guarantee of a second game at that point, which is why they suddenly threw you into a final boss, why Raven just suddenly survived, why the bus full of kids just suddenly showed back up. Time was up, money was up, and the options were to either cliffhanger the entire game at that point or hastily wrap the major plot points up.
I'm personally glad they went the route they did, because I would've hated to have it end on a cliffhanger and then move over to another system I didn't own.
>the gameplay is fun >using gravity kick over and over gets old This is very true. I hear the second game focused on more than just the gravity kick, although it had its own problems.
I did like that you could move the camera around freely with the thumbpad, and fine tune your aiming with the gyro. That made the game really nice to control, even if you still just used gravity kick for everything.
Gabe Newell tells me to go back and do whatever I have left to do before the final mission, is there a reason for this? After you beat the game he's still there, and everything seems fine. Is there actually a point in keeping a separate save file before the last mission?
No I just doodle for fun, I don't think it'll ever amount to much.
Kayden Martin
The game was ported from the PS3 to the Vita mid developing so they had to scrap a bunch of stuff they want to develop to be able to ship thus the story "ends" where it should be the halfway point of the story The other half plus some more are the GR mini anime and the GR2 game on ps4
Alexander Roberts
Nah, it's just a warning for you if you want to 100% it before finishing the story
Austin Fisher
Oh, so you can play the last mission after doing everything else I suppose You can still do all the side stuff after finishing though, right?
I love this image so much Aside from hobo touching the food with her dirty fingers and the fact she's actually incredibly flat on both sides This image very nice, thanks for posting

Sometimes, I guess. They're kind of trash.
Jayden Butler
Don't worry. I'd bathe her when I took her home.

Here’s some smug Kat. Last one for tonight, it’s late. I might stop by in future threads to make some more.
