Okay, so if you were in charge of making a movie/tv show (live action or animated) based on vidya, what game would you adapt, why, and how would you do it?

Good lord, the Tomb Raider movie was so good. Lara Croft's nipples being constantly on display were a nice plus.
I'd adapt lost planet 2 but it would be an action comedy based off the treasure borrachos
Battletoads cartoon
>make it super over the top and violent
>plot is just the Battletoads living normal lives and sometimes getting into adventures and having to stop the Dark Queen
>give the Battletoads needlessly realistic designs similar to Killer Insinct
>make it reak of 90's culture and make fun of tropes and staples of that era
bump
Dishonored
Live action TV series
Dark gritty drama where Corvo is reluctant to make use of his full power from the Outsider, mostly uses his own physical strength and dexterity but is forced to use some abilities when things get rough
Some occasional high chaos shit to make him more moral ambiguous but ultimately a good ending where Elizabeth is rescued
The easy answer is just adapting TLoU or one of those other movie games into an actual movie
This
Literally pic related would have been a far better movie
Adapt something teens/tweens like that can be put safely on the cw and last 5-10 years. It has to have relationship drama and popculture references. The leads have to be model tier and only the pilot has to be any good.
>Viewtiful Joe movie
>directed by Edgar Wright
>stunt coordination and fight choreography by Koichi Sakamoto
>focus on costume work and practical effects, with CG mostly used on the bosses and VFX shots
>mostly write the humor 1:1 with the game, complete with the scene of Alastor reading from the script
I would do new vegas because it would sell really well in the current game of thrones oriented climate.
Plus I could make that really cool scene I have in my head of the courier seducing benny to get into his room and then murdering him with a baseball bat set to peggy hills Do Right, which would be neat.
Hitman
>Protagonist is a target that 47 needs to take out due to him knowing too much about 47 and the ICA (kind of like Alexander Cayne)
>Is supposed to be a thriller / horror / drama movie
> Has the atmosphere of Contracts
>Jesper Kyd is hired to make the soundtrack
>47 can be seen hiding in background shots near the end of the film before the protagonist dies
I never understood why they didn't just make a Hitman movie like this instead of awful one that we were given.
No joke, Dark Souls.
Hear me out.
>Chosen Undead is Christian Bale, for the two minutes before obtaining the Elite Knight Set he's all shrivelled up
>Ian McKellen as Gwyn
>Steve Buscemi does mocap for Frampt/Kaathe
>Picard plays Ingward the sealer
>Keira Knightley Darkmoon Knightess
>Christina Hendricks Gwynevere
>Chloe Grace-Moretz as Ceaseless Discharge
>Pretty much every other character has their face covered
>Keep it short and sweet, no 3 hr+ fuckfest
>Streamline the entire story; CU makes it to the Gargoyles at the 20 minute mark; Quelaag at the 40 minute mark and Ornstein & Smough at 1:10
>The Lord Souls get ten minutes each roughly and Bed of Chaos is way more fun to watch than to play
Postal was a pretty accurate portrayal of the source game.
I would make a Crazy Taxi film, and put in some sort of plotline like there is a bomb in the taxi, and it will blow up if the protaganist (Axel) doesn't pick up enough passengers. Cast some young buck like that guy from Solo as Axel. Maybe have Nic Cage as Gus.
A Guy Ritchie film.
Might as well make a Saints Row miniseries based on 2 and 2 only
Metroid would definently translate well into film
I've been working on a tv show script I wanted to do for Resident Evil. I want it to capture the b-movie feel of the original game while making it more gory. I dont want the characters quipping every minute but I want a funny line here and there. And for the story I want to be a combination of RE1 with some REmake elements like CH and Lisa.
I even have a rough map of everything up to CV.
I had an idea for a Metroid movie, but doing an origin story about Samus starting from the death of her parents to joining the federation to ending with her going on her first mission.
The title would just be Samus since it would only be about her.
same but I thought of her origin with her parents and the federation being flashbacks while in the present, she's already an astabilised bounty hunter
Postal 2.
13 episodes, 1 episode for each day, 40 minutes long. Perfect for one season. Only problem would be the pacing, could stretch it out to 2 seasons, two episodes per day.
I'd go for OC instead

A Sniper Elite movie with Liev Schreiber as Karl Fairburne
Dark Souls. The movie would have close to no dialogue, certainly not from the protagonist. Random story taking place in one of the literal thousands of kingdoms that existed. Focus on cinematography and fight scenes, something like Blade Runner 2049. This as a basis.

Ace Combat Zero. Just have in-game stuff be done documentary style with the live action in-game cutscenes.
The final boss is the only part that's actually depicted with full on cinematic dogfighting.
>Not too much dialogue, lots of action and atmosphere
>Combine the plots of the first and fourth games
>Start with Doomguy's trial for beating up his commanding officer who ordered him to fire on civilians
>Brief montage of him twiddling his thumbs on Mars with nothing to do
>Alarms blare, Doomguy and friends fly to Phobos to deal with an unknown threat
>Doomguy keeps watch, the others go in
>Doomguy loses contact, goes in and finds them dead or zombified
>Makes contact with Hayden, who explains that Olivia opened a portal to Hell
>Hayden asks Doomguy to shut down the Argent filters, but Doomguy finds out that Argent energy (Which everyone knew about but didn't know the source of) comes from Hell, and destroys the filters
>He eventually fights a couple barons, teleports into a room full of demons, gets killed, and wakes up on Deimos
>Eventually realizes he's in Hell, kills the Cyberdemon, Hayden helps him find a way to the surface and to Olivia
>Olivia gets transformed into the Spider Mastermind, Doomguy kills it
>Finds a portal back to Mars
>Hayden's pissed, but gives him a shuttle back to Earth while he stays behind to try to clean up the mess and rebuild
>Shuttle arrives on Earth to find it overrun with demons
>Doomguy puts on helmet, cocks shotgun, the end
>Doomguy played by Dave Bautista
>Olivia played by Tilda Swinton
>Hayden played by his VA from the game
Gears?
Because execs need the protagonist to be the hitman if you pitch them A Hitman movie
Banjo-Kazooie
3-5 minute online shorts
Basically just little looney tunes esque skits using the characters from the world (occasionally guest appearances by other Rare franchises). The way they talk in the games would ideally be retained (makes it so that every language knows Banjo and Kazooie by the same voice) and that's why I wouldn't want them much longer than 5 minutes.
I'd do an animated Zelda mini-series. The plot would be original but would take elements from the plots of some of the bigger games similar to how comic book movies do
Was thinking dishonored as well. Nice user
It's hard to pick a game that would adapt well to a movie, since you have to cram stuff into 2 hours.
A TV miniseries about Hitman would be good. It would have an overarching plot like the games but you could make 45 minute episodes that are relatively self contained. Have to keep it short, I think the novelty would wear off after 10 episodes. You could model it after Dexter but emphasize creative ways of killing people and minimize character development.
I think the Hitman movie made a mistake by making it action, when it should have been more espionage and stealth.
would you watch?
So it's the road with shittier writing?
No its the Book of Eli with worse writing
Also the Bible is a girl
This could work. They've made sniper movies before.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. the tv show
>loosely follows the plot of SoC
>Strielok is replaced with a 3-4 stalker team
>emphasis on team dynamics and survival
>doesn't omit the downtime when they camp or rest
>comfy slav adventures in the zone
>total tone shift into horror genre when they encounter rare mutants or explore ruins
Fuck, I'd watch that so hard that I made myself sad.
