I would lose my fucking shit. Comix Zone is a game that always needed a second go around. It wasn't groundbreaking for its time, but it was very well done and it just needed a sequel or something to refine it further.

Amazed, considering how absolutely loathed it is by Sega of Japan.

Is it? I suppose that it's one of those off beat Genesis games, like The Ooze and Decap Attack. If anything, I'd expect Vectorman to come back before Comix Zone does, but I'd much rather see Comix Zone more than anything. It's all pretty unlikely though.

The heads at Japan said it “embodied everything that was wrong with American culture".

I can see Rent-A-Hero and even fucking Segagaga having another chance before Comix Zone

Why is it on every Genesis compilation then?

Comix Zone was pretty damn good, but I only played it recently back in like 2017.

I would be erect

That'd be fucking rad

It was successful, and so it earns its place despite their hatred of it.

While I fucking love Comix Zone, I don't think it would work unless it was still set in the 90s.
Mainstream comics nowadays are absolute shit and modern writers aren't as rad as Sketch Turner.

>Comix Zone
This game was really interesting. Remember when we use to rent games by looking at the cool cover art on the boxes that got our attention.

source?

>I don't think it would work unless it was still set in the 90s.
It obviously would. I was about to say that Comix Zone was a product of its time until I realized that its time is starting to become the new trendy thing now.

Third question.

He's one of the last of his kind trying to bring comics back to the glory days, All the bosses are the versions of iconic super heroes warped and perverted by the modern comicbook industry.

>Direct sequel, taking place a few weeks later
>Set in current times where Son of Sketch has to save dad
>New protagonist and setting, but keeping the overall theme

Choose

>new comix zone game
>sjw writers are actually villains that came out of comics and plan to destroy everything
>Sketch is now old like Kevin Matchstick in the new Mage series and has to save the comic world

>what the fuck
probably
same with the panzer dragoon remake actually, a big ole WTF

Could work but no modern dev has the balls to do this

>modern sega
>making anything good

Pick one

>Ryu Ga Gotoku

Amazing soundtrack.

The composer ended up doing a garage demo release youtu.be/gc_P3tIoF6A

Disappointed. Very.

Literally one of my favorite genesis games.
Seeing something like this would be too good to be true.

It would blow my fucking mind. It was the game that got me into video games and still one of my all-time favorites.

Judgement came out THIS YEAR, you drama queen.

>sketch adventures through hollywood beating up filmmakers and comic executives trying to convert every comic into a film
sign me up

This reminds me a lot of early Foo Fighters, that space in between grunge and pop rock

Actually pretty hyped, I really enjoyed it.

I played it as a kid and I could never beat it. Game was hard as hell

Buy it on Steam and beat it.

Doesnt sound fun

Dew it

Take the rat everywhere. That little guy is basically the I.W.I.N. button.

i'd cum my pants.

Disappointed

Sega is sitting on a bunch of unused IPs. Where's my new Billy Hatcher? Where's Phantasy Star 5? Where's Gunstar fucking Heroes?

>tfw I listened to the whole thing
thanks for posting, this is rad

and why would japan hate that?

anyone would hate that

Do most anons think comics didn't start as sjw as fuck and were redpilled? The only time they were racist was during war time to dehumanize the enemy.

>sega-16
Wew lad I used to read this site every day 10 years ago.

Depends on the comic. But yeah, most superhero comics were always about justice and shit, but the writers would respect the characters and the artists would make 'em look cool.
Nowadays they hire shitty tumblr artists and the writers try to appeal to the twitter fangirls and literal sjws who don't buy comics.

TEST 1 2
SEEEEGAAA

Id love that, CZ is the only beat em up I’ve eber really liked.

Decap Attack was just a modified version of Vic Tokai's Magical Hat no Buttobi Turbo Daibouken. Which was a spiritual sequel to Psycho Fox.

I have this site bookmarked, but I haven't actually visited it in 6+ years.

Most people in this thread are ignoring that OP's scenario states that Comix Zone would be the new AAA title in development. Comix Zone as a AAA 2020 game, even as nostalgically driven as possible, would not be quite like the original. It would probably still be about Sketch Turner being transported to the comic book world and mostly be about melee combat, but the game would become more open-ended and story-heavy. There would probably be something about the villain of the comic attempting to take over not only the world that Sketch created against his will, but the real world. Sketch would probably travel to different issues of his own series from a hub (either his apartment or some sort of "omnibus" of his work) and the gameplay would be more Action RPG than a straight beat-em-up.

The more I think about it the more I think it would be by the Yakuza team, but the concept is so aggressively American/Western that it would be weird for them to work on it.
