Yeah, the Maverick Hunter canon was a little different but X had the skill, just he was simply reluctant to actually hurt anyone so while he should be an S rank hunter, he was B rank in MMX. It was part of the reason why Vile resented him so much because Vile was, by the books a better maverick hunter but X received more praise than him.

I personally doubt X generation robots are substantially stronger than Classic era robots. Mega Man is out-slugging nuclear powered robots and ones made out of miracle metal. Not to mention alien ones and the alleged Zero-Prototype of Bass while juiced out on Evil Energy: the alleged virus-precursor. Even if Mega Man is personally weaker than anyone he's compared to: I think the power disparage is still breachable. Though I admit reploids are much more dangerous since they're actually set apart by being smarter.

Still I think the real threat of Zero was the virus apocalypses. Which I think Duo is almost uniquely qualified to combat. If he's able to remove the evil energy inside the virus: it'll net a win regardless.

Megaman is programmed to be a little boy assistant, and he'll unfortunately be nothing more than that. He can never decide of his free will "I don't want to fight anymore so I'm not going to". X can, and did. Also X was designed to be able to kill a human if he wanted to. Not sure why Light thought that was a good idea.

I'm not going to dip under the rules Capcom continues to break. But I'll tell you they've been consistent on the point that Reploids have the capacity for original thought. There's no R&D Robot Masters. While Reploids becoming responsible for creating new upgrades for themselves or other reploids become more and more common in the X series.

I'll go ahead and assume shit like the double gear system was designed as foreshadowing to X's systems. A more powerful buster, able to power up other weapons he copies, and an ability to go faster. But it came with its own flaws which I feel like Light would perfect in X.

Reploids aren't slaves. They aren't free to murder humans, but they aren't slaves.

They more or less are. They're born out of assembly lines for their jobs. Like, Colonel was made specifically to be a military commander. It doesn't seem like any of them have a choice in the matter.

There's no lore suggesting a reploid who didn't want to do a job was shut down, murdered, or had the Maverick Hunters sicced on them. They aren't slaves, even if they are designed for certain jobs.

Yes they do. We see reploids with varried pasts and differing careers all the time. We see reploids created to act as surrogate children for other reploids.

It's true a lot of them were purpose built. Signas was, so was Colonel, and everyone had a defined function. But that speaks to more underlying psychology or sociological when a machine with free will created with an unparalleled ability for -say- military command: chooses to be a military commander.

There's all sorts of instances where they change their job. Alia used to be a researcher and then joined the Maverick Hunters out of her own volition. I'm sure some of them are purpose built and expected to fulfill that function, but in that case they'd likely be programmed to not even desire to quit that job. Otherwise I can imagine the government building a fuck load to go out and do what they want in order to offset a low birthrate of natural humans or something.

Maybe some repliforce who surrended were spared but i doubt it since half the point in that game was that the repliforce would be executed for politcal reasons without fair trials so their only choice was to fight

Reploids develop personalities and can think on their own while robot masters have a limited programmed range of thought and expressions. They're essentially a primitive step behind reploids.

I guess that's what Vile is for. Too many reoccurring villains are bad for a franchise like this anyways. It makes it too "anime" where the permanence of death is meaningless. And that also undercuts X's melodrama over being forced to fight. Not such a big deal if there's lots of survivors.

I wish such a place had been relevant to the plot at some point.

A little more than that, at least robot masters have vibrant and sometimes dynamic personalities to match their programming. NPCs just consume next product and die without a second thought.
