refund it before you get 2 hours in and realize how shitty the class system is and how you are pressured into being a tank

unless you like being a tank in which case refund it before you get 2 hours in and learn the pathfinder system requires you to constantly be multiclassing with 1-3 levels of like 4 or 5 extra classes to augment your primary class and it totally defeats the purpose of a class based system entirely

Anything arcane so that you don't have to put up with Octavia. Full 20 Sorcerer that focuses on Conjuration and Evocation is a lot of fun.

Canon protagonist is a male human fighter in full plate wielding a kite shield and a flail

Play an arcane caster because out of all the story NPCs there is only one mage and she's multiclassed from the start. Sorcerers are hella strong, especially the one kit that gets an animal companion.

You can still roll whatever you want your main to be and recruit a noname pure sorcerer mercenary instead of using a story NPC

You can but that's lame. I'd only use mercenaries on a second playthrough and metagame the shit out of it.

I would agree it's lame but anything that gets fucking Octavia away from the group is acceptable

What's wrong with her?

>how you are pressured into being a tank
>Pathfinder
>Tank

Attached: 1545156102381.png (800x600, 553K)

She's a half elf toth, most people hate her because she'll sleep with pretty much anyone.

Something with high wisdom to stoicly endure the very shitty NPCs you heve to adventure with.

The game is pure dog shit.
The plot doesn’t even make any sense.

>”HMMMMM.... I’m not sure I can trust you, hero, Despite being told by several people I trust unconditionally that you’ve saved countless lives and even my own life. BUUUUUUT... this character known for being an evil, insufferable weasel says you’re an assassin so I can’t trust you. Gonna have to split you up into two groups!”

What do you mean by split into two groups? Do you create two characters in the beginning?

No, you gather some party members and then get split into two groups about 20 minutes in. The evil party members and The good party members.

The story is designed so that all the classes largely make sense, just do whatever

It's actually based on your dialogue choices who agrees to join your party initially. The only ones I think is always in your party is the barbarian

And then you have to choose a group? Is there any way to have mixed group like in bg2?

Archer bard, they get tons of skills, keeps up damage wise all throught the game, has most arcane buff spells so your wizard doesn't have to waste spell slots on those, motherfucking inspire courage and best of all you don't have to bring Linzi around.

CONJURATION/EVOCATION

You can eventually get everyone but people with good taste like me told the evil fuckers who didn't join me to fuck off when they came crawling back

That said you can pretty much get any set of chars at the start and there isn't really any way to lock yourself out of recruiting characters

you get the entire other group later

>No problem being a tank
>but being a tank in Pathfinder means you have to use an absolutely aburd, weaboo tier shield thats seventeen times larger than your body

Tower shield nigger, get 14 dex and show that short hair lady what for. Also have sex with the totally not-Aasimar

The most retarded are always the loudest

Literally the only thing that matters is putting as many buffs on one or two front liners as possible

pathfinder actually rewards you sticking on a single class most of the time, some builds might take like 4 classes but those take forever to come online and aren't much stronger than a single class character

Yes you Fucking retard. Either you chose “good” choices or “evil” choices. Either way you get split into two groups. Good and evil.

E-even with me?

No. Being a tank in pathfinder involves dipping into monk, ditching your full plate, and stacking the fuck out of dex and dodge AC bonus because endgame attacks target your touch AC.

There's lawful and chaotic too.. Valerie will join you for the lawful one and the priest dude will for chaotic. Good evil is for the bard/inquisitor.

So there's four combinations there.

there are too many incredibly valuable feats that you can get with just a couple levels

rangers and sorcerers are about the only things that should be pure

That's right user, even with you.
And no, I'm not joking, Tothavia is the town's bike.

Proper thot

Is there any pattern about how often resting fires pop up in beneath the stolen lands?
I've done full levels without seeing them but they always seem to pop just as I'm about to run out of fuel.
Also fuck doing this starting at lvl1, I'm at 7 now and haven't had a chance to sell shit and gear up my group yet

Yes, but you have to sleep with her half-orc boyfriend too.

Clerics, wizards, alchemist, kineticists, druids, monster tactician inquisitors and bards all should stay pure for ovbious reasons.
Its only martials that should consider dipping around and even then must classes have super strong features at +10 like:
Slayers and rogues getting advanced rogue talents wich have some busted choices like opportunist, crippling/dispelling attack,
Barbarians lethal accuracy and greater beast totem
Fighters get fucking nothing since they didn't implement advanced weapon training but a mod adds it to the game

Delaying these for a few levels is a big deal

>Wizard
>Pure
>When AT is a thing
Outside of really, really specific instances, wizards should never stay pure in a game with busted backstabbing mechanics and AT, Sorcerers can since they get big dick feats through their bloodlines and have plenty of fuel for blasting, but Wizard into AT is by far one of the most powerful builds for a Wizard.

I'm retarded, where do i buy rations? Merchant at trade post don't sell them.
Why the necropussy elf need to eat anyway?

Attached: hammer-pepe.gif (432x498, 1.26M)

AT dealing crazy damage with scorching and hellfire ray was a bug and it got fixed, sure going AT lets you contribute without using spell slots but you're giving up a caster level and a feat for that. All those levels an AT is a spell level behind a pure wizard they're a lot weaker.

Wizards strength is dealing with hordes of enemies anyway, why bother nuking a single target with scorching ray when you could blind or web the whole group

Uh oh I've been running pure paladin with a two hander

This game is pretty nice but installing the turn based mod turns it into a masterpiece

>sure going AT lets you contribute without using spell slots but you're giving up a caster level and a feat for that.
One extra feat means very litte by level 20, so does an extra caster level when you're already at tier 9 spells at level 18, where you also get your second school feat.
>they're a lot weaker.
Not really, even considering a super efficient no nonsense AT build, one caster level less means nothing even in a solo scenario, in which a AT also performs vastly better than a pure mage by not having to rely exclusively on cantrips.
>Wizards strength is dealing with hordes of enemies anyway
Not really, that's the Sorcerer, Wizards are better at versatility, which an AT greatly empowers, not to mention that it allows much more interesting build variety, and if you want my opinion on this, pure wizards are incredibly boring.

My favorite AT build for instance is a Slayer base shortsword specialist AT with Illusion+Transmutation, 3 SL/7WIZ/10AT, it's great fun, and pretty versatile too.

there's a reason it's called turn BASED

Whats AT mean?

Arcane Trickster

Inkeeper(s), general goods merchants and Oleg

I didn't mention paladins because I haven't played one from start to finish so I'm not sure if the weapon bond scaling, spells and smite evil uses are worth it

>level 20
who cares about level20? Post lvl18 lasts only a few hours, sure the AT can nuke single targets a lot better than a pure wizard but they are worse at everything else since unlocking a new spell level early is huge so its a tradeoff not a plain improvement, you don't realize how important reaching a new spell level is until you play with 2 casters in a party and one of them is a level behind.
I'm not saying AT are useless or a bad class just that before going for it you should consider if your party is really going to need their extra single target damage or you'd rather unlock spells faster.

Arcane trickster

>you don't realize how important reaching a new spell level is until you play with 2 casters in a party and one of them is a level behind.
Oh no I do, I hardly use martials, most of my parties are mainly comprised of spellcasters or gish, though I can understand when you have not enough of them, you have a point on that.
As you said, party composition is your biggest concern rather than what a single character can achieve, but as I see it, unless you play at unfair and under heavy self imposed limitations, it's not something you should really worry about.

>Sorcerers are hella strong
Finally, a tabletop related property where sorcerers aren't constantly shit on

is there at least the option to have an orgy

>people talk about game
>threads about game aren't that common
>rarely hit bump limit
>FUCK OFF TO /vg/
Wew

>retard who's only ever played classless ARPGs with no party dynamics
>incapable of comprehending the concept of "make your character focus one class, other party members with their own classes will fill the holes"
>start going on an autistic rampage about class design not being open enough in a fucking class and party based CRPG
Every fucking thread with this bullshit. Either learn to accept the system or fuck off

Where can i download the turn based mod

nexusmods.com/pathfinderkingmaker/mods/109

Sorcerors are always strong in D20 vidya because their casting system rewards game knowledge since spell selection is limited and there's rarely enough great spells to fill out a Sorc's spell list anyway so you can have them all, have more casts, and have much, much better metamagic use since you don't have to memorise spells with metamagic in mind.

Is sorc on the first run not a good idea? I don't really know who should I pick.

The only orgy in the game is a cloudkill and the fey.

You can respec for free three times and it's not that expensive after.

Just dive in and have fun. Crowd control and group buffs are strong picks, you don't really need more than 1 damaging spell per level of magic, if even since you can use up extra casts with metamagics upranking spells. Look for shit that is hard to save against or resist.

instead of
>FUCK OFF TO /vg/
why not
>here is a link to the general thread where you are more likely to find the information you want

PC tank is useless when summons animal companions and Valerie exist.

lol i played literally this, a human male paladin with plate shield and mace/flail. But it doesn't really matter

I've played through a few times, I found Mage to be really fun at high levels, but in terms of the best run and the best character I had, especially in regards to the story, I'd say Paladin, specializing in Glaives.

>Human Paladin of Shelyn
>Sleep with Octavia and Valerie through the story
>Bang Kanerah as soon as she joins
>Tell Kalike you want her as well as her sisters
>Redeem Nyrissa as you go
>Choose Valerie over Octavia because Octavia is a hot mess that's better not in a relationship
>End the game married to Nyrissa, Valerie, Kalikke and Kanerah

Harem route is always the best route.

Attached: 1547365306341.jpg (554x554, 30K)

I was having fun until eighty hours in i realised i hadn't gotten anywhere.
Don't waste your life on this game.
Also no fashion.

Why would you be forced to tank when literally one of the first companions you get is a tanking subclass with passable stats? And that's if you don't want to just hire a customisable adventurer at the bar and make them your tank.

You're fuckin' dumb.

Druid is pretty good and no Druid companion is in the game.
And there is a charisma scaling druid subclass in the game.
Just make sure get an animal companion they are crazy strong.
Paladin is also a good choice.

>Harem route is always the best route.
Haha...

And chaotic /lawful you fucking brainlet.

Doesn't matter.
The story book segments depict a human fighter with a shield and flail, so that is probably the "canon" choice.

Okay what should I answer if I want to collect all the hot girls in my party?

Anything you want. You can get the party members later on in the first chapter.

God damn D&D and derivatives are dumb as fuck. No idea why we still keep making games based on this bullshit.

Nobody cares about Linzi's headcanon bullshit.

Anything with a pet is very strong. Rangers, Sylvan Sorcs, Clerics etc. And they stack. I had Ekun's wolf, and my leopard as a Sylvan sorc curbstomping stuff, and if they don't, they serve as meat shields well enough.

fucking hell thank you.

no problem bro, enjoy

>No idea why we still keep making games based on this bullshit.
Because as much as the various grognards and deluded american neckbeards deny it, the western RPG industry, especially the videogame one, has been intellectually bankrupt since decades.
That said, Pathfinder is enjoyable if you're a filthy minmaxer who can deal with D&D's inherent shittiness, the roleplaying options are also surprisingly passable, just grab the turn based mod and have fun.

There should be an video-game RPG based on Shadow of the Demon Lord, most notably it's Paths system.

>we
Lmao kys

I wouldn't mind, I kinda like the idea behind mechanics like corruption and the path system is a pretty great idea, it's also virtually not that hard to implement in a game, in fact there have been vidyas from years ago that used building mechanics similar to paths.
Much better than the umpteenth D&D based game for sure.

Okay, "Americans". There happy now?

No, you should play as Hedwirg, just a fighter dude. Paladins necessarily have a gigantic backstory, which is sparsely addressed during the game.
For example, Lawful Good characters are offered an alliance by Mendev. Though the player might be praised by them for virtue and such, the issue of "hey I'm a paladin too" isn't brought up. Which is fitting for a lawful good warrior, but not a literal paladin.

Moreover, the thematics don't fit for a paladin all so well. This also has an effect on gameplay as you won't have many opportunities to use a paladin's features against evil.
So pick the Hedwirg premade (and enjoy insane point-buy) if you want the most "fitting" character. He also shows up in illustrations.

>Can't fuck the barbarian girl
what the FUCK is the point of romances when you don't provide the best options?

My nigga.

>we
>'Americans'
Lmao kys

okay retard

She's a canon character in the Pathfinder universe, they probably only got permission to add her if she doesn't get fucked.

Paizo doesn't let you fuck their iconic characters, sweaty.

Kek, I just imagined these negotiations.

Cringe. Just keep your fucking mouth shut.

okay retard.

ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING

>"you can have fuckable Nyrissa tho"

Wait you can respec? How? I'm just past the Troll Trouble, starting the beast invasion

Yeah talk to the chick that lets you hire pathfinders at the bar.

Talk to Anoriel at the pub.

Only on normal or lower difficulty, yes?

>playing the tank
>when Valarie exists
why? that's her sole purpose, to take the most tanky class possible so you don't have to.

Anoriel, the person who hires adventurers to you also repecs

What settings recreate tabletop as close as possible

None outside of the turn based mod and various other mods which integrate mechanics and spells that were arbitrarily removed for no good reason.
As long as you play on Challenging you're on the right track as far as vanilla goes.
