Reminder the serie got killed with two meh games because of the players >Nate Fox stated that his initial intentions were for the Evil story to be canon. But due to the majority of players choosing the good side, his plans were changed. In an interview with Nate Fox, he stated that he was hoping that more players would have chose the evil side over the good side. However, more people went on the good side. He also stated that, should his expectations been met, an inFAMOUS 3 would have been made where Cole is still alive and Conduits are freely running around, with the Karma system still active. This caused the creation of Delsin.
Why couldn't he just stick to it, regardless? It's HIS vision, after all.

I hate this reality

You could have just not made the good ending so good >Let Go
Hunter Peterson
Basically, they always followed which ending was the most done by the people, by looking at the trophies. and the good ending was the one played for the most.
Fuck, the bad ending is the saddest one in my opinion, especially if you does it when in good karma youtube.com/watch?v=gTs1wLFS1sU
Logan Martin
Infamous 3 with Kessler as a prequel never ever because Sucker Punch don't care about Infamous and Sony have Spiderman.
Levi Gray
>makes evil Cole look like a junky who just crawled out of a dumpster >makes good powers flat out better than evil ones >complains about people choosing good Only has himself to blame.
Christian Robinson
>Reminder the serie got killed with two meh games because of the players No, the series got killed because SP wants to pander to weeb with their shitty samurai kusoge.
Benjamin Smith
>>makes evil Cole look like a junky who just crawled out of a dumpster this was in Infamous 1 when Evil Cole was a fucking dumbass power hungry dude. Infamous 2 evil Cole is far more "gray" in his choice. and he still look cool. not as cool as non-canon vampire Cole though.
If evil ending of If2 was canon, then there's no second son and first light, but a proper infamous 3. and second son/first light did shit sales because the story was boring with Cole and the protag was a fag and a punk chick.
Ayden Turner
without cole*
Jordan Hughes
>tfw it did the bioshock infinite twist even before bioshock infinite and the game wasn't acclamed like Bioshock did, maybe because no girl i guess.
Luis Reyes
yes, but why? just make the more compelling game
Gavin Gutierrez
they wanted to do that to really "follow the choice of the majority". they did the same with Infamous 1, when the good ending was more obtained than the evil one..
Sebastian Rogers
Let SP move on Most people don't like being stuck on sequels
John Foster
Bump
Angel Cooper
I honestly liked Second Son. It had some cringe parts but was a pretty fun game. I would like them to continue the series though with Cole or another character.
Nathan Fisher
Still dont know why they wasted all those plot points of the first game on a comic. Infamous 2 should of been Infamous 3
Gavin Turner
That's idiocy. I think Nate Fox didn't make a good call.
Pretty much this.
I honestly loathe how creators have become dependent on big data nowadays. It destroys genuine creativity. If Fox wouldn't have known about this data his vision for the original storyline would've remained unchanged.
I know its one helluva undertaking, but games about choosing moral paths should accommodate both ultimate conclusions in some fashion. I mean, they're creating two branching, different storylines. Why don't they stick to that premise now that they've created it? I breaks the concept when they neglect it.
Ian Watson
shouldn't have made being Evil in Infamous 1 a fucking slog and not keeping the black lighting. and also >time travel shit; it was a dead franchise from the start
Ryder Bennett
>Sony have Spiderman you really think marvel i.e disney would allow sony to keep spiderman exclusive if a single game manages to sell +15 million on a single platform? The sequel will be multiplatform.
Anthony Ramirez
They made a contact with Sony, they can't broke it like this.
Hudson Morales
it's a game by game contract
Jacob Morris
Lately we have lots of supposed exclusive game going to different platforms this will just be another one of those games. I still don't expect Suckerpunch to go back to infamous if Sony lost Spiderman they are trying to hard to become the next naughty dog clone.
Grayson Price
Won't be the first licences abandonned by Sony >*cry in Killzone, Resistance and Sly* It's like they are trying to get ride of their PS3 era licences beside Uncharted and Tlou. Even GoW is unrecognizable.
Aiden Perez
It kills me Western gaming probably never will be as good as before 2013 beside some exceptions...
Jayden Hill
I'm starting to believe that the PS3/360 era was the last the hurrah for traditional games as we know them. This generation has been absolutely underwhelming. I can't imagine it'll get better in the next.
Honestly, it's pretty sad. I still have some funs with japanese games and some western games, but a lot less than before. back when i was playing PS3, i was thinking the next gen was going to be even better, but now, i'm fucking sad of the state of the industry, most game aren't fun anymore... I still love some games, but it's more like a minority now...
Fuck, if i one day follow my old dream of making a game, i will make one to retrieve and share the fun i had during the PS2/PS3 era.
Benjamin Myers
This isn't really because players are moralfags, but because more often than not, the "good" route is the easier and more default route and often offers the most gains. So it makes sense that the majority of players would go that way their first, and possibly only, time playing.
Austin Hill
This the bad ending require a 20 minutes+ missions. good ending required a lot less.
2>=SS>InFamous is actually kind of a trash series. It's sad to see movement in Sly 2 being so spectacular yet so clunky in IF.
SS was mostly a retread of mechanics and playstyle introduced in 2 but it had great presentation. 1 was a design mess, completely unbalanced and just plain bad. They needed a sequel to get things right, just like with Sly.
Logan Wright
>Infamous 1 >antagonist is a fucking godlike man who is a future version of you
>Infamous First light >Antagonist is random incel-looking drug dealer
Ignoring the games gay morality shit John did absolutely nothing wrong. Why did they switch again, I think the chink just pussied out because she realised she'd die using the macguffin, but I don't recall why the black chick wants to kill John.
>that scream of rage when Cole destroy the sphere after this, knowing he just killed his best friend, spiritual brother and maybe only thing he had left as a "family".
Dominic Cooper
The black chick for one reason or another was upset about her oil babies being killed. For some reason she treated them like they were her children.
Connor Young
>dude im kidnapping and torturing superheroes to keep them safe from people without powers lmao
jesus christ that game was a mess
Parker Garcia
>prequel with the guy we already know literally everything about, and where he can only lose
How fucking fun.
Adam Peterson
Money
Asher Lewis
I think the fact that it was supposed to be a console seller and get people to buy PS4s was part of the problem. It seemed rushed in areas and like they were trying to target some weird demographic they thought existed.
Bentley Hughes
>entire game is MC trying to get the concrete powers to save his family >Bad ending just has him come back and they tell him to fuck off after seeing the shit he pulled on TV >He just murders them all
Brody Bell
There's a big gap between when he arrived in the past, and the events of Infamous 1. Like really, the old fart who was the chief of the Trashbag soldiers, well, he was just a kid when Kessler arrived.
Parker Sullivan
Oh fuck I didn't even realize that, that makes it so much better. Zeke must have been so conflicted, fucking hell
Dylan Turner
>write generic evil path with mwuahaha villain options >be disappointed player prefer to play as a rational hero rather than a maniacal psychopath with no coherent motivations How is this supposed to be some sort of tragedy?
Shit i mean to answer to This is for Infamous 2, not Infamous 1. Infamous 2 evil cole wasn't a vilain, he was an anti hero.
Infamous 1 evil cole is like evil for the sake of being evil. Infamous 2 evil cole is like Magneto.
Zachary Green
The intro and getting to fight the beast was pretty cool. The amp shit could have used fleshing out but it was far better then 1's melee.
James King
They won't. Infamous 1 got 10 years old this year and Sony did jackshit. they completely abandonned the serie like they did with a lot of their franchises.
and hell, when looking at modern sony, i honestly prefer cole to stay dead. i don't want him to become gay with Zeke or something.
Isaac White
Best PS3 exclusive. The ND games were good but they don't have anywhere near the playability of Infamous 2
Nicholas Lopez
>Rolling around in her goop while you fuck the shit out of each other and her goop is slorshing and squelching in and out of her pussy all over your cock
>Infamous 1 evil cole is like evil for the sake of being evil. Okay, but if they already screwed up the evil path in the 1st game, you can't blame players for not wanting to try it in the 2nd game, even if it was (allegedly) improved.
Binary moral choices are a bad mechanic anyway.
Joseph King
Infamous 2 Cole wasn't as much a evil for the sake of evil faggot as 1.
Aiden Wood
The intro of Infamous 1 is still one of my favorite vidya intro. like really, it get more and more fucked, you really feel that shit is getting real. youtube.com/watch?v=t4yezOCqi3E
Daniel Flores
Ok but the black lightning tho I was bummed they didn't bring it back in 2
William Nelson
How were the powers in second son? I recall smoke and neon were a thing and the whole goal being to get the big bad concrete power but was there any more? I imagine since instead of focusing on one power like Coles lightning they were more half baked and lacking expect maybe the first one smoke?
David Myers
You fucking knows they woudn't dare to make a vilain like this in 2019 Didn't she got killed in one of the comic or something?
Grayson Jackson
I'm fucking mad there's no real replica of cole vest, they all looking very cheap looking. .
It really felt like it was a launch title, it was so barebones. The forced motion controls, voice calls coming through the controller, the sidequests all taking 10 seconds to beat. It definitely would have benefited from more time with the hardware before release.
I was shocked at how bad the plot and characters were after what we got in 2. The aforementioned and incomprehensible "plot twist", cop brother continuing to stay in contact with you even if you slaughter thousands of innocent civilians, just how grating most of the characters were (cough, Fetch, cough) even for videogames it was abysmal.
Jonathan Hall
Here's Cole vest in Infamous 1 in comparaison; I'm specifying Infamous 1 because Cole's Jacket in infamous 2 is a little different, since Cole changed a little between the two games.
I only got to the Neon powers but the traversal/mobility options were pretty cool, you could get around pretty fucking quick which is something I felt the first 2 games were lacking
Carson Johnson
Fetch was a little better in her spin off story i guess. if only you could have her with real hair and not faux-punk shit hair.
You get the black lightning for picking the evil ending in Infamous 1
Eli Campbell
shit user i replied to the wrong guy again because i'm retarded.
but to answer you, the black lighting probably mean you are an irredeemable piece of shit, something evil cole in infamous 2 isn't.
Brayden Scott
Hopefully the next game can take a page out of the vampire DLC book. The most fun I had in any Infamous game was flying around as a swarm of bats and I need more of it.
Jonathan Gonzalez
Fuck, i'm relating a lot to Cole life right now, before he got hit by the ray sphere. now, if only i could have super powers...
Festival of blood was way better than it needed to, for real, especially for the very low price. i pre ordered it back then and i really didn't regretted it.
more like >super hero MMO never again i hope the genre will return in the next 10 years...i really miss it.
Gabriel Baker
Here's hoping after they're done with Spider-Man they can revisit it and make a whole game out of it with some new dude.
Parker Parker
they won't. Second son and first light were commercial failures, and spider man was a very big success. and you damn knows they only follow the money trail.
William Martinez
The game wasn't boring because of the lack of Cole, it was more because Delsin and the dev were insufferable faggots, the dialogue was cringe and the abilities couldn't compare to those of infamous 2. I didn't even bother finishing the game since it was so damn boring.
Jaxson Perry
I really don't get it. I never played Second Son but it always felt like it could have easily been 'rebooted' with a different setting and reason for the superpowers, and that's even what Second Son did, or at least it looks like to someone who didn't play it.
Just looked it up apparently it was the fastest selling title in the series so that doesn't sound bad to me.
To be honest I can't remember a fucking thing about that games plot and I don't think the game cared either. All I can remember is being very disappointed in the smoke powers as they were heavily under-used and forgotten the second you got neon and hating the main character in general.
Charles Flores
>that scene when cole’s powers are taken away and zeke saves you >on my evil playthrough I broke the scene by summoning the spider minions which glitched out of the cage and killed the enemies that zeke was supposed to kill
Christopher Wood
He did? Was this shown through a dead drop or something because I can't remember it at all.
Carter Kelly
fattest selling title but also an huge dissapointement with most players and critics. the only cool shit i got from this game, was the Beanie in one of the special edition of the game.
Xavier Diaz
it was in the comics. released between Infamous 1 and 2.
Kayden Mitchell
Fair point but people are still very fond of the first two games so I can't see the series going under just yet.
Elijah Taylor
I've actually been buying PS3 games in droves recently. Stocking up a backlog to tie me over the upcoming generations.
Zachary Wright
I played it when I was 12 (in 2009) and the only thing I liked about evil inf1 Cole was his epilogue >the strong take what they want >and no one... is stronger... than me... Holy fuck I was edgy as fuck back then, I cringe when I think about the fact that I found it so cool.
>Reminder the serie got killed with two meh games because of the players What? There were 3 games and 2 minor DLCs. The second game is by far the best. It only suffers from a weaker antagonist than the first game.
Quite frankly edginess in games can be okay. Forced edginess is not good, but the genuine kind of nerdy edginess can function well in games. It gives them this otherworldly charm which not many mediums manage handle well.
>Paper Trail ARG mentions that Glass, Wire and Paper were all potential candidates for the designated power the DUP agents would have >We'll never get to see or use them besides a tiny bit of paper Wire and Glass and Paper would've been kino as fuck Wire would be all about whipping, ensnaring and swinging/zipping towards your enemies funny enough it'd be pretty similar to Spiderman Paper is for mobility and aerial stuff Glass would be similar to concrete but much stronger, but the downside is that you're brittle when you use it I'd also be cool to see DUP agents use it, and even have more high ranking DUP officials instead of just Augustine and her goons
Blessed games. I understand him going with the player choice with inFamous 2 in order to not pull the rug from underneath peoples' feet but I think it would have worked perfectly with inFamous 3 if they had done so and gone with the "evil" ending instead. It's unfortunate he didn't have this forethought at the time. Hopefully he still has it in him to come back to the series eventually and proceed with Cole's story and just have the non-numbered game be a what-if side story.
