Is not bad, just weak

You mean just the fact that it's midi, or the compositions themselves?
'cause if it's the latter I agree, some of the music sounds like somebody tried to do a medley of wildly unfitting tracks while on crack

Wait for the definitive edition on the Swi-
Oh no, PLEASE don't tell me you're just a seething snoyboy?

Don't you like being blasted by trumpets every time you step outside?
The music gets better in the endgame when they start rehashing the old themes

I could get passed the midi if it was actually well put together music, but it's not, so the midi definitely isn't doing it any favors

Is the switch version getting better music or something? I was avoiding it because of the graphical downgrade I heard about

Yes, it is orchestrated and you can also switch to the DQVIII soundtrack, which is way better.

what the fuck

why isn't the PS4 version getting that? Now I am seething

>they announce a switch demo
>date on that is still on TBA
I really want to check this shit out to see it looks and runs. Also check battery life on the OG switch

>game made in 2017
>this shit

>you can also switch to the DQVIII soundtrack
Source on this?

FACTUALLY WRONG. The DQ8 soundtrack only happens when you ride on the tiger thing and its just running overworld

But the game is also on PC

Holy SHIT does this user have some terrible taste in music

>DQVIII soundtrack, which is way better.

No it isn't

This.

I already played the PS4 version up to a certain point, and even though the additions are neat little extras, the graphical downgrade would still keep me getting the PS4 version again.
But if its actually not that bad, and runs well, as well as not draining too much battery, then I'm sold.

please, just patch the new music into the PS4 version, I beg of you

Yes it is. Much better than 11 at least

Shit taste alert

boy it's not even a contest

Glad to know someone else shares my priorities. I just hope is not another crappy sub 500p game that drains the battery in less than 3 hours. Also glad that we are getting a demo which surprised me too. We waited too damn long for this damn game and it better be good.

Awesome, so now I guess I'm actually just not going to play this game again until the definitive edition drops, by which point I hope they've actually decided to give the new OST to PS4 players

I'm up to the point right after you use the keystone. I'm really enjoying everything else about the game

They didn't bother adding DQH switch content to ps4 and pc version. And that game is half koei tecmo which love doing dlc too much

Don't do my boy Sylvando nasty like this.

Switch version won't fix how repetitive and annoying the compositions themselves are

>1 track for every city in the game
>1 track for every overworld area
>1 battle theme
>1 boss theme
>1 "sad story moment" theme
It's garbage regardless of instrumentation. Had to stop playing 10 hours in because of this shit

I play on mute, personally.

>He's an VIII baby

Does anyone know when the demo comes out for switch?

That all sucks but that SHRILL fucking horn inbetween grinds my soul to the core, if orchestral fixes that I'll double dip on Switch.
Quit in Act 2 on PS4 because of that.

Just download the orchestral mod.

what does the definitive edition even add? i dont want to play sub 60 fps and im already invested into the pc version

Play DQV. It has the strongest music in the series imo.

Holy shit you're right it was announced to be in development for the switch before it was the switch I just remembered

More romance options
2D version

Orchestrated soundtrack and more content.

>S still not out
It's not fair friends, I just want to be Senya.

Why do people like these games when we have final fantasy?

we haven't exactly gotten one of those of quality in a while if you haven't noticed

I actually never liked dragon quest music, to me it all sounds the same whether it's midi or orchestrated, it doesn't matter

>S is not coming to PC
it's not fair bros i don't wanna rebuy it and play at 30fps

Why do people like Skyrim when Dragon's Dogma exists?
Why do people like COD when Destiny exists?
Why do people like PUBG when literally anything else exists?

>Playing that game that's currently suffering from an identity crisis

Dragon Quest remained the same, while Final Fantasy transformed from a semi-turn based JRPG series into some AAA normie bait action game series that doesn't have any RPG elements anymore.

Why limit yourself to just one series? I miss the time when Square put out a lot of different jrpgs. The snes/ps1 days were stellar.

>Why do people like Skyrim when Dragon's Dogma exists?
Because the latter's map is fucking tiny and limited

Here is some of the new stuff

And it actually lets you fight dragons, good trade-off.

Final Fantasy isn’t an RPG series anymore.

Is the orchestrated music for the Switch version just the symphonic suite tracks you can already mod in on PC or newer arrangements to better fit the in-game atmosphere?

FF doesn't know what it wants to be. It has jumped between standard medieval fantasy, steampunk, cyberpunk, and faggot boyband-tier shit.

That's why you change it to the orchestral soundtrack.

Still you got to admit DD has plenty of problems of it's own too. At-least you can mod-overload skyrims cancer.

DQ is stronger than it's ever been before. FF is in it's lowest point.

Outside of Ragnar in II, what additions actually were there?

FF is all about changing it up while keeping some core trademark themes, brainlet.

FF is currently about sucking with some core trademark themes.

The midi one is better for this song imo. The orchestrated one isn't as fast, peppy, and upbeat. It's nobody's fault, playing at the speed of the midi one would kill you
