No, but it's worth pirating.

Just finished it 1 hour ago. Really complex and hard game to get into. I thought it's like Divinity 2 so i bought it during the summer sale. Boy was i wrong, i hated it for a long time. I still don't love it, but looking back now, yeah it's a really nice game. HUGE pleb filter though. I still don't know a lot of shit from it. 8.5/10

this

Yeah I lost interest after I saw how expensive it was.

Probably the closest thing we will ever get to the true Baldur's Gate successor.
Install a few mods that bring the missing pnp content like Eldritch Arcana and you can easily sink 500 hours into this game.

Lies lies and folks with shit taste, it doesn't remedy any of the issues old dnd games had and adds new ones with a generically poorly constructed world.

Pirate it then buy it if you like it.
That's what I did.
I have the most expensive version on GoG.

It's shit. Play Temple of Elemental Evil with Temple+ instead.

If you like the Pathfinder system its a great game for the most part. Though some feats and spells were not included for some inexplicable reason its a pretty faithful adaption for the most part. I thought I wouldn't like the real time aspect since pathfinder is designed around turn based but I found it works out for the most part. But there are some frustrating design decisions like why cant you control your party in the capital to cast your healing or how the devs seem to think that HD should equal caster level for some mobs. 75% of the time the game makes sense but there is that 25% where the design of the encounter is completely retarded, either the enemy has some inflated damage or saves or you fight a ridiculous amount of mobs. Really though if you like cRPGs this is worth it

Is pathfinder really different from dnd? I liked bg2 and nwn.

I like it, it's better than Pillars but the bugs and janks are pretty insane (though they cleaned that up a bit).

Even though the Kingdom management shit is very shallow, I love that shit. I want more games where you build and make decisions like that.

It's more like neverwinter nights 2 than BG, as far as ruleset go.

The system is very close to what was in NWN2. It's like 90% identical.

Pathfinder is essentially an expanded version of D&D 3.5e, so it works the same for the most part.

and by expanded you mean worse

Why is armag such a ridiculous pushover. He was stuck in a web for the entire fight and slowly burned to death. At the very least his artifact sword should have given him better saves and spell resistance.

I actually liked nwn1 ruleset more, in nwn2 it feels too bloated and almost like those fan-made class mods.

As someone who is new to D&D in general, I spent what felt like half of my playtime researching shit than actually playing. Gave up around 30 hours in due to fatigue.

does that include all the retarded dogshit prestige classes?

Not sure how many Pathfinder has but Kingmaker only has five of them.

The game certainly expects you to know the basics, as well as what spells you should use. I managed pretty well with my knowledge from playing 5e, Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale.

I dont think he had nearly enough magic items for a 17 barbarian. But beyond that the mobs were inconsequential so if you rushed armag it was gonna be an easy fight no matter what

Try ToEE which is most accurate to 3.5

it's ok gameplay wise, the companions kinda suck though and the city building/kingdom running is practically useless

How's the turn based mod for this game? i tried playing it but got filtered by the "real time" combat

Pirate it, it is digital only and digital distribution should not be paid for
Of course it is expensive, digital distribution is always expensive, even piracy isn't a good deal, you're just getting digital distribution for what it is worth - $0
>buy it if you like it
No, just continue playing the pirated version even if you like it

I know that it's probably pointless to argue with you, but why wouldn't you pay for a good game from a niche genre that you enjoy?
