It isn't.

Nothing.

skill indexing
more loadouts
more player customization
meticulous balancing that doesn't get disturbed every week
good mapping
likeable endlessly quotable characters
good lore
no faggots

maps, movement/engine, mechanical interaction between the various characters and kits, focus on being an FPS first, networking.

>no faggots
user tf2s community is one of the worst there is.

Soul

Mechanics are looser, skillful use is more creative and open
Mechanics are more focused on skill, fights aren't choreographed and there is no 'press this button to kill everyone 25 feet in front of you'
Classes are well balanced and limited so they don't step on eachother's toes and are comprehensive across roles
Characters are a better fit for the setting and gameplay
Most maps aren't choke-choke-choke-choke-end
Loadouts allow for specializations into corners of different class' gameplay and often a transformation of that gameplay
Random crits break stalemates and slowdowns at the few strong chokes, remove the need for medigun pacing (which would match ulti pacing in OW)
The characters do good trash talk

>meticulous balancing that doesn't get disturbed every week
>no faggots
Fucking lmao

there is definitely far less libtards that play tf2 than overwatch

Nostalgia. To me they were both fun games at release that were ruined by steady bad content updates that clusterfucked gameplay completely.lly hard in games. Casual game modes

Imagine being so obsessed with politics that you would prefer furries and literal children over normal, well-adjusted adults just because they think voting democrat is cool.

It focuses on core fps skills instead of being a bloated moba shooter where hotkeys matter more than aiming and every game comes down to pressing your ultimate ability at the right time.

Also modding and community support.

furries are fucking rich neets with nothing but time spent on playing videogames and super computers. They're both the ideal teammate and opponent.

overw*tch couldn't hold a playerbase for 3 years because it's it's gameplay was vapid beyond the surface. that's why they had to create massive balance overhauls constantly to compensate with the fact there is nothing there and create the illusion of improvement.

TF2 is a very solid game with one of the highest skill ceilings in any fps, hence why it holds a playerbase, because people love learning something new and improving constantly.

also fuck blizzard's political bullshit and literally permabanning people over shooting barrels for "griefing"

shit aesthetic
shit characters
shit world
shit game feel

every person ive talked to that played overwatch were socially inept man children, similar to most of my liberal friends. There's only one friend i have whose liberal who doesn't have a joke for a job and even then he's still a sperg weirdo whose wife is leaving him after 1 year lmao.
Chilren and furries is just a straight up delusion, it plagues both communities.

its the better game

Exploiting the engine for things like surfing, rocket jumping, any sort of technquie is encouraged for gameplay not patched out
Even if you're a class that gets hard countered by another you can overcome it by just being good at the game

Literally soul vs soulless

Overwatch is TF2 but for normies, TF2 is an elitist game

The main thing is that 12v12 means some players can mess around without it impacting the performance of the team too much. There's less pressure. People are more chilled out. When you lose, it feels fair. Those are the main things anyway.

100% this

It's a smallest dog/loudest bark scenario. Seeing conspiracies where there are none because it disagrees with how they feel.

do you have a source for this?

i wonder how much money you make to actually believe that nonsense. read

For vanilla TF2 at least, it's a well constructed FPS that's actually built around its core 9 characters and doesn't require more added in to make the gameplay more interesting.
It also helps that it's pretty easy to get into using any of the characters compared to Overwatch (at least in my experience) and has a color palette that doesn't make TF2 an eyesore to play when big battles happen.

Attached: tf2 space dandy.png (1024x768, 148K)

6v6 is more fun in tf2 also though. at least valve's where there's no faggy restrictions and shit

You're independant from your team and the general way abilities and weapons work. TF2 entices mechanical skill more than timing, and that's more fun in my opinion.
Maps are much better in TF2, it doesn't take an expert to see that, Overwatch devs vave been pushing for chokepoints filled maps but it's just annoying.
I can't explain it, but all Overwatch matches start feeling the same after a while, be it because of the lack of loadout or because everyone uses the same tactics, I don't get that in TF2 a lot.
Characters also feel more fun, overwatch characters feels like they came out of a disney show for teenagers, they're by no means bad, but neutered and clean. TF2 characters feel like a passion project.

>conservative
>plays TF2, furfag bastion
>plays Mario, the manchild banner
>plays Kerbal, a game literally made by spics
Your cum-stained ass is not a valid source.

custom maps and gamemodes

Stay in denial nigger.

Overwatch is too chaotic. Too many partical effects. Someone new can't tell what the flying fuck is going on when everyone is zip zoomin around and doing all sorts of crazy animations with big ass effects.

Compared to TF2 which is rather tame and understandable in comparison. Big guy with a gun? OK, don't get too close. Guy shooting rockets? Super understandable. Longer range and has large splash damage. Engi? He builds stuff and defends places. Etc. It's all easy shit to understand at a glance.

I can't tell what 90% of the fucking classes are capable of the first time they come at me. or the second, or third. You pretty much have to suck ass for a while before you learn what everyone is capable of and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

Better movment and physics
Better feeling gunplay

Like weapons feel great because they usually kill in 2 hits, the shots can also be dodged with moment.

This is my biggest problem with Overwatch as well, there's just too many new classes and nerfs added to memorize every update.

>RED Engie and RED Heavy holed up in that dead-end exit on Dustbowl third once we capture first point
>As a Soldier, just continuously spam them to keep them from leaving the spot and flanking my team, but not enough to kill them, because they are two defensive classes that aren't contributing to defending last point from the rest of my team as long as they are stuck in there
>The rest of my team doesn't give a fuck and goes for the objective
>They eventually captures last and I proceed to destroy everything them and the Engie's buildings while Schadenfreudeing them both
I didn't have a moment like this once in my 400 hours of Overwatch. The game is incredibly sterile and railroaded, there's always the one way to approach a situation and that's it.

Attached: 1551442737039.png (1920x1080, 1.37M)

Why is every game labeled "competitive" like that? Overwatch, DOTA, League, CS:GO. There's one way to play and if you find or try to play ANYWAY else you get flamed and/or reported, even if you do well.

>Networking
>Class interaction between kits
Lol
If you have a shit team, there is no coming back.

Because modern multiplayer gaming is garbage that's built around having twitch streamers and "professional" gamer tournaments tout its glory rather than being a fun experience for anyone who doesn't want to waste hundreds of hours of their lives just trying to git gud at these games.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

Do you think it's fair that people who abused of a glitch got FREE UNUSUALS while those who decided to not screw the economy are left with NOTHING? I urge everyone to message the TF Team (valvesoftware.com/it/contact?recipient=TF Team) and send'em this message, in order to at least get a form of encomium for not having took part in this mess.

Thank you.

----------------------------------------------------------

Hello TF Team,

I understand why you decided to not punish the people who profited of the "Guaranteed Unusual" glitch: because after all it was all your fault and make people pay for your mistakes would have not been fair. But what about those who decided to not take advantage of this crazy situation and got NOTHING? I, like many other people, decided to not abuse this glitch to get easy unusuals because it was an UNETHICAL thing to do, out of respect for Valve and the game economy.

Some people made a massive profit by selling a very expensive unusual they got at the first try. Moreover, even if the rest of their hats are untradeable, those are still luxury items, which normally you wouldn't get so easily.

So, what's the lesson to be learned here?

"You found a cool bug? Abuse the shit out of it, since you'll actually be rewarded for it! Be a nice guy and not fuck the system? Lol, you get nothing! Try next time, friend."

Nice move guys, very appreciated. It seems that being an honest person doesn't pay off these days.

Frankly, get your shit together.

Peace.

Flanking is a top-tier strat but if you stray too far from teammates, you're fucked unless you have random crits stored up or a pocket up your ass.

Thanks for reminding me of the time I got a 52 kill streak in TF2 while playing as a heavy and having a medic (my friend) and an engi constantly resupply me with ammo and ubers, I forgot how much fun this game was.
F2P was the worst mistake Valve ever made with TF2 even if it kept the game alive longer.

Attached: image.jpg (768x1024, 112K)

Just play the game. That sounds more like a noob issue and Tf2 is dead, development-wise, which I wouldn't list as a pro.

I got 20 damage with a meatshot.

>Moooomy! He did a bad thing so I should get a present because I was a good boy!

Attached: 1501394912375.gif (190x200, 2.56M)

There's a lot of bias. Tf2 and Overwatch aren't really competitors because their design philosophies are completely separate and both have carved out their own niches.

The ability to totally dominate a little bitch and make fun of him via taunts, reverse is also pretty gratifying when you finally manage to kill that fag that was always fucking your shit up.
There's also a shit loads of other things that made the game good but I don't give a fuck about listing them right now

>faggot dressup simulator
>this retard gushes all over it
as per usual lol fag

12 v 12
Good maps

You're playing mostly with children, friendlies and furries, it makes it exponentially easier to win.

Overwatch is full of broken stun and crowd control mechanics, you can easily be put in a situation where it is impossible to win a fight no matter how skilled you are because the enemy is using a certain character.

Its comfy as fuck

Attached: melee crits.webm (853x480, 2.77M)

Much more freedom to fuck around and piss people off.

>Friend and I play TF2
>"Wanna annoy people as piss snipers?"
>"Wanna uber chain as medic?"
>"Wanna try and push to their last and build near their spawn"
>"Wanna go C&D spy and try and cap last"
>"Wanna go Machina sniper and taunt after every kill"
>"Wanna crit me as Sniper while I run around with a SMG"
>"Oh fuck, you've been autobalanced, wanna go spy and try and backstab people I trick into taunting with me"

TF2 also has an influx of idiots every day meaning that the most average person who plays TF2 can find someone worse than them, dominate them and win the game. Even if you're losing a game you can just requeue for a new one.

Meanwhile for OW:

>Friend and I play OW
>Uh, wanna play DPS and I'll Tank?
>Oh wait, someone already chose Hanzo, Widow and/or Genji. We're not going to win so we might as well play whatever
>Oh wait, our team is throwing, might as well join them
>Oh wait, the other team has a good Widow/Hanzo who can instakill half our team if they pop their head out who is also protected by an Orisa shield, a Bastion and being healed by two people
>Oh wait, I told someone to pick a different hero and now they're pouting in the corner as Torb
>Oh wait, someone said this is quick play and that who gives a shit if we win or lose

OW also has the opposite effect, I'd say less than 10000 people play OW these days and you get matched with the same fuckers a lot of the time and if they're grouped up they won't be on your team. It just removes the fun from the game, you lose more than you win I find and all the characters just don't feel fun to play half the time.

I remembered changing the crit sound to robotnik's WHYYY like in this vid. Makes the game more enjoyable.

OW and tf2 aren't even remotely comparable. It was only shitty ecelebs with retarded brains who thought they were. OW is just an esports mobashooter for people who can't aim.

Maybe not but if you know what you're doing you can still play for frags and stomp even if you don't win the round

Only a fucking moron would not realize that Blizzard was looking to imitate TF2 when they were designing and planning OW. Jeff Kaplan openly says this. Go be a fucking retard in some other thread.

If it wasn't more fun than overwatch we wouldn't be sittin here discussin it with ya now would we?

It's actually good.

Anything is more fun than Overwatch

9 characters that take extremely different roles > 500 characters that do 3 things

Attached: basedpepe.jpg (250x250, 8K)

I stopped playing Overwatch once it became painfully obvious that literally everyone that played would hound you down like an animal for choosing any hero that wasn't considered meta. Literally every other match would have some asshat(s) get on their mic to say "yo, switch off Hanzo" or "Can you switch to Reinhardt instead of Torbjorn" or "if you don't carry this game as Widow, I'm throwing." The micromanagement got so bad that I just uninstalled it and never went back. That community was giving me cancer.

Is the engineer the single most based character in any FPS?

Attached: 1496870849289.jpg (600x1000, 125K)

I played overwatch a lot and recently stopped playing to go back to tf2.

>first team to get a kill wins the fight with an 90% chance
When the teams have synergies that are too extreme, they become unkillable if they have a mere 1 extra character. Even on a tournament level, first one to die loses. Not so much in TF2. Healing is a heck lot weaker; medic is there basically just to patch you up, sometimes the medic can't even keep up the healing between fights. No shields, no armor. One living scout can be devastating, one living demo can wipe the whole team, a soldier can fly to the enemy medic and blow him up and suicide.

>intentional suicide is a crucial part of competitive strategy
The game design of overwatch is so bad that it leads to absurd game theories, and example: when 2 or more of your team die, you intentionally suicide to group up the team faster. Also, just like the above, this is the game theory that manifests in a tournament level and you'll see it in tournaments.

>a billion heroes that counter each other
Fucking stupid. You can't have a balanced match when both teams have completely different comps. Now they are adding forced roles to competitive to attempt to mitigate this which only makes the game more dull. The solution would be not even making that game. tf2 nailed it with the 9v9 highlander, it's a shame that it's almost 2 decades old.

Attached: torbewatch.png (910x310, 285K)

TF2 doesn't ban you from the game for saying mean words.
