Dorothea's nicknames, some of the innuendos were toned down (though this felt less like a choice to hide them and more an attempt to make them read better in English), a fair amount of insults, Sothis has a less archaic speech pattern presumably to avoid writing Ye Olde Ænglish, and some accents weren't able to be matched in English so they were changed (e.g. how Petra is made sound ESL)

Overall it came across pretty well in my BEagle playthrough with subs.

Ingrid says in a support with Sylvain that he even tried to flirt up a crossdressing dude.
The localization says he tried to flirt with a scarecrow instead.

Aside from that I have noticed nothing on my playthrough.

Fates and tokyo mirage sessions made nintendo japan slap treehouse and even changed their whole localization process so that the localizer has to bring up issues during the game’s production, which basically means the JP side can tell them to fuck off.

Hi Fire Emblem fans, do I pick up the Switch game as my first, or do I get a 3DS copy from CEX or something.

I was very dissapointed at how petra had a perfect accent with almost perfect sentence structure

3 Houses is arguably better than all but 1 3DS FE, but is also probably one of the most different to the series' norm. Start with 7 on GBA emulator or PoR on GC emulator.

If you insist on getting a 3DS one, I'd suggest Fates:Conquest since it's the only good one of the bunch but it's not the most beginner friendly.

As some one who just got into FE recently, I second the FE7 recommendation.

It's one of the only ones with a proper tutorial, and the game doesn't have all the extra (superfluous) systems found in the 3DS games.
There's a reason Nintendo decided to make it the first one to bring to the West.

But you should know that buying Conquest is a dirty trick. There will be an option early in the game where you'll want to pick the other side for story reasons, but it costs $20 if you buy Conquest.

Annette's A support with Mercedes has her saying that she likes Merce, to which Merce replies with "is that a confession" and annette goes all embarrassed but then Merce goes "its a joke, i like you too" and Annette smiles and goes "Merce daisuki!" or something. The translation is just completely different, although i'm not sure why they would change this specifically?
