Paladins or Mage Guild, Yea Forums?
I like my wizards pointy hatted, but apparently going near full-mage is pretty viable. But the robe design just annoys me and Paladin armour looks so much better.

>go out of bounds
>complain about texture glitches
Sasuga Yea Forums............

Mercenaries, of course.

Shit, good point.

New Camp faction's armour in Gothic 1 was kickass with all the furs, shame that Dragon Hunter is so pedestrian in comparison.

I love Gothic and Gothic 2,it's easily in my top 5,but holy shit what is the point of those threads? Gothic games have pretty limited design and there is nothing to discuss about them, unless you want to know everybody's favourite camp, class and friend NPC

That isn't Baldur's gate

>oob
Nah, just saw it heading back west to circle around to the Monastery from the BLACKED troll's cave.
It's the only time I've seen something like it in bounds, but DAMN is that glaring.

MOTHERFUCKING Diego of course. Bros before camps. That nostalgia XP bonus in Gothic 2 made me smile

It's too bad they were so lazy with the dragon fights. They had like 5 reskinned dragon bosses, and the fights themselves were easy and uninteresting too.

>exploran
>find cave
>see sword floating in a beam of light
>guarded by two big dick skeltal guards that take literally no damage from my spells
>get BLACKED.jpg
>load save
>decide to blow the only two scrolls of Fuck Skeletons I've managed to save up so far
Was it worth or should I keep holding onto them?

>nostalgia XP bonus in Gothic 2
What

what I meant is:
when you take Diego on that escort mission in Gothic 2 to the place where you first met him in Gothic 1, a cutscene plays where you reminisce on those times and you get a few XP points

Huh. I don't remember that. Guess it's time to replay.
but yeah, nostalgia is strong in G2 and it is a sad brand of nostalgia because the whole thing is ruined

Gothic 2 wasn't even the best rpg when it came out

That's correct, Gothic 1 is still the best

Do you need a bunch of patches and mods to make it playable or can you just download and jump into it?

Is there any way to get rid of the "dead zone" of the camera?
Large movements feel fine, but trying to make small changes to the way I'm facing tends to move the camera up or down instead of rotating my character.
The auto lock on is so fucking annoying in town.

Nah Gothic 1 is worse, also Risen and Elex are better.

Perfectly playable in vanilla, version 1.08k

It literally doesn't run on W10 without a patch

Haven't played Elex, but while Risen's island is absolutely top tier, G1 is better overall

>W10
Why would you do that to yourself?

Yes and it's all on this page.
>forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/threads/1340357-Release-Gothic-½-—-SystemPack-(ENG-DEU)
Just skip to the bottom of the post, the Installation Info and Download parts are the only relevant ones.
Should only take like 20 minutes to download the necessary shit and follow directions.

Risen is brilliant. Haven't played the sequels or Elex yet.

Gothic 1 centering the whole thing on a single map made for tighter design. Gothic 2 is great, but there's so much empty space in the map, it's at its best when it's mirroring the Risen/Gothic 1 design of super vertical areas crammed with secrets and various stages of enemies, and that's only for short spurts.

Also they fixed jumping momentum and removed acrobatics so you can no longer just fling yourself off the tops of hills to cover giant distances instantly.

I did finish my first playthrough of G2 as a mage. Shit was hard though, had to run & gun till I could one shot most orcs. I did use the hammer of innos for like half the game as my melee weapon when fighting against weak monsters or humans that you could stunlock.
At the end you will become extremely overpowered though, I just kept spamming summons.

>real time with pause combat
>best anything

yeah fallout new vegas is pretty based

that's neither Wizardry 8 or Labyrinth of Touhou 2.

3D fallouts are shit tho

I'd say Baldur's Gate 1 is the best camping simulator.

>pause combat
Fuck this so much.
Either make it turn-based or start working on AI so the player can focus on one character.

What all happens when you go to Chapter 2?
I got mauled outside of town by some wolves because I was running around with almost no health assuming the roads were all still clear.
My last save was back in town before I'd progressed, so is there anything I should get done beforehand?
I'm worried about a bunch of quests I have failing if I don't get them done first.
Am I missing exp if I don't kill everything I can before moving on and respawning all the wildlife?

>Was it worth or should I keep holding onto them?
It doesn't matter. You did it. You're not one of those faggots who reloads whenever they make a "mistake", right?

If you don't pretty much fully complete all the content in Chapter 1 before moving on, you are fucked, I'll put it that way.

nothing in gothic respawns, new monsters are added at the start of each chapter but they are new. But you can still kill the monsters from previous chapters they stay there

Goddamn right I am.
I'm already saving every 5 seconds, it's basically impossible not to have a backup save regardless.
I've already done way too much since then to go back at this point unless I'm missing out on some serious mage stuff because of it though.
This sword is basically just a fuckhuge sack of gold for me.

>nothing in gothic respawns, new monsters are added at the start of each chapter but they are new
So if you bumrush chapter 2, you can just make the outdoors explode with monsters that gang up on you in insane numbers?

Fug.
Maybe if that hunter guy near the black troll has a bed I can just pelt him with fireballs, run, and avoid draining all my mana potions chipping him down for his skin.

What is the best rpg, and why it is Arcanum ?

Attached: 1564756661368.jpg (600x600, 45K)

westacuck games all look like shit

>So if you bumrush chapter 2, you can just make the outdoors explode with monsters that gang up on you in insane numbers?

In theory yes but I've never tried that. And it's not that every single monster gets added again, it's just some monsters

>playing a wizard
>caring about a sword
wew.

how in gods name could anyone ever claim Gothic 1 was good at ANYTHING?
hell the dx11 mod causes an already unstable garbage game to reach such a massive amount on instability i literally quit before finishing the game, namely at the orc temple but that was also because i didnt know you're forced to have a fucking bow to finish the place and i never once put points into DEX or even HAD a fucking bow

Actual garbage.

Ah alright, so it's not suddenly going to be as densely populated as it is at the start.
Thanks, user.

>westacuck
What kind of dumb autist do you have to be to settle for games from one part of the world?

So don't install the dx11 mod? I've replayed it recently on win10 and didn't have any crashes at all.

That isn't WoW Wrath of the Lich King.....

Okay, let's discuss oblivion

Attached: Oblivion 10-08-2019 20_14_58.png (1920x1080, 2.58M)

Merc armor is still solid, Dragon Hunter II armor looks pretty cool too. The only """bad""" armor is the first knights armor. Best looking is ravens armor, but you gotta cheat to get it.

neck yourself westacuck faggot

Are you playing as a mage? If yes to beat trolls simply spam skeleton goblins also use wand glitch for free mana.
>equip +mana staff
>cast a spell
>0 mana?
>take off the staff and the equip it again
>enjoy free spells

its unplayable without the dx11 the game looks so fucking bad
hell even with the dx11 its pretty much hot garbage and this is coming from a guy who can still play quake 2 every year

Is it possible to get that sleeper armor?
I've searched through the entire game, but could never find it.

No. And why are you still in this thread?

And I play G1-2 every couple years, and have no issue with it's graphics.
>unplayable
That word doesn't mean what you think it does.

>skeleton goblins
Is there a level cap or something?
Kinda worried I might've been wasting too much LP.
Are the summons actually good?

its unplayable to me because i dont have the nostalgia to be able to see past its garbage presentation

why don't you just play with god mode on and spawn everything you need if you're savescumming every other minute? Seriously why bother?

the demon summon is absolutely broken, it can even solo Dragons by itself.
But I prefer the summon "Army of darkness", it summons 5 skellies with boosted hp and attack.

If you keep spamming army of darkness, you can literally end up with a giant fucking skeleton army that mows down anything, so much fun!

westacucks are subhumans and should be flayed alive

Wasting LP as mage is absolutely a big concern. In the base game less so, than with the expansion, because in the base game +1 stat will cost 1 LP, but in the expansion that is 2 LP or even 3 depending on how high the stat already is. In the expansion, permanent power ups such as stuff you can consume to get a stat boost should not be used until you run into the 3 LP territory, otherwise you might really be starved for LP in the late game.

I really love how Vurt's Overhaul khorinis looks like

Attached: khorinis.png (1613x1079, 3.9M)

There's a fuckton of mana bonuses from items though, way more than other stats.
A mage can afford to level dex, strength, 1h and pretty much every secondary skill and still end up with 300+ mana in later chapters.

I wasnt ready for the feels that picture just gave me

>Is there a level cap or something?
50 if you do everything possible
>Kinda worried I might've been wasting too much LP.
You should stick to one path and don't try to level every stat. Mage needs LP for mana and spells. You should grab some utility skills like alchemy and lockpicking. Unfortunately some spells are almost useless.
>Are the summons actually good?
Yes goblins are strong early, wolf sucks, normal skeletons are good but you get the too late and demons are OP. Army of darkness is fun but at this point you will be spamming fire rain.

Trick for free spells
>find enemy mage
>beat him to the brink of death
>finish him off with the ice block spell
>loot the body

>Wasting LP as mage is absolutely a big concern.
Fuck.
I got kinda frivolous with it and picked up a bunch of skills to skin and carve up the shit I've been killing and so far only the mandibles have had any notable payoff.
I'll just be more careful about it in the future I suppose, thanks.

You should be fine as long as you don't do something stupid like learning every spell from lower tiers or trying to become a spell sword.

If you take it slow and try to clear most of the map before proceeding to next chapters, you'll end up with way more LP than you really need.
Eating dark mushrooms alone can give you about 50 free mana(+5 for every 50), then there's potions, tablets, praying to Innos.

>Eating dark mushrooms alone can give you about 50 free mana(+5 for every 50)
Wat
Fuck I'm glad there's no weight limit or I'd have been getting rid of those by now.
>tablets
I'm still waiting to find out how to make use of all those tablets with skill names.
>praying to Innos
All that ever did was give me Dexterity, so I stopped.

>Wat
Every 50 dark mushrooms you eat give a +5 bonus to mana, so make sure you pick up everything you see. There's about 500 of them in the game overall.
>All that ever did was give me Dexterity
It gives +10 dexterity and strength BEFORE you join the mages, so if you already did, it's too late for that. After joining it gives +20 mana.

Don't forget about giving donations to fire mage in the city. You can do it 20 time for 50 gold each.

Map turns to Q and E or something, then use those to turn, and put strafe at A and D. It'll feel weird, but you'll get used to it.
