Nobody since it will just take another decade to make.

>which worlds and characters you wanna see and play as in the next game?
Honestly? I'm not really looking forward to any Disney world ever again after KH3. Shit like the Frozen and Pirates world were such fucking trash. They were just such trash. No original story, it's just the movie again but 90% of the scenes are missing so the plot is incoherant, and Sora just stands there like a jackass and occasionally helps Rapunzel skip across some stones or something. It's awful, like taking a guided tour through a funhouse where nothing interesting happens and you've seen all the decorations elsewhere already but they were done better before, like when Anna stats singing 'Wanna Build a Snowman' in KH3 and her voice actress is LITERALLY TALKING OVER THE SONG, LIKE THE SOUND EDITOR JUST FUCKING FELL ASLEEP AT THE KEYBOARD WOMDWINDMO2NINQNFWOMDIQN

Star Wars

I'm gonna samefag this comment to say that this is why I'm excited that KH4 seems like it's going to be more based around Square properties, not Disney or even Pixar. Pixar clearly let Square have some creative control, so those worlds I welcome more of, but fuck the worlds like Tangled, Frozen, and Pirates (in KH3, not KH2.) They're just the movie but with shittier aesthetics, breaks for often tedious gameplay like collecting birds for Rapunzel or crabs for Jack Sparrow, and overall they're just awful. I'd rather simply rewatch one of the movies any day of the week. So, no, gimme Shibuya and some Final Fantasy worlds instead next time, Nomura. At least Disney can't force you to make those boringly adhere to a script we've all already read before.

>Not KH2
You do realize that KH2 had way shittier aesthetics and also just recycled the movie's plot. Let's also not forget the garbage medal hunting that forced you to repeat the world again with barely any new content. Pirates in 3 may have not been perfect in terms of story but at least the crab hunting took only 5 minutes if you knew what you're doing.

>KH2 had way shittier aesthetics
It was a PS2 game aiming for photorealism in a game full of cartoons. I didn't think I needed to mention that, yes, Pirates in KH2 was also shitty aesthetically. Kind of goes without saying if you ask me. And yes, the Pirates world in KH2 is the first movie, but their sped up retelling of it is much more coherent than KH3's Pirates world, which skips way more important aspects of the corresponding movie's plot. I could barely even follow what was going on with shit in the Pirates world as someone who never saw that movie. The sand ocean thing was weird as fuck, then there's a sea witch, and apparently it was a fake Jack made out of crabs. Okay. Boy I couldn't wait to escape the confusing masterclass in how not to summarize a movie that is the Pirates world in KH3.

The lack of FF or any other Square Enix owned property in KH3 made me realize how much I genuinely missed their inclusion in the series
The next game should focus on mostly FF worlds and maybe throw in some other things people would want like TWEWY, Bravely Default, and Octopath Traveler

Attached: 9827398472893792734.jpg (800x1200, 104K)

fuck disney/squeenix worlds, anything else would be fucking better at this point

for example: a kirby world in KH would be kino. you cannot refute this.

Attached: 1543086227071.png (500x412, 196K)

All these things you mentioned were all problems that were also present in the PotC3 movie. It's a confusing mess with no direction. Whether is goes without saying that KH2 looked like garbage in the PotC doesn't matter. You wanted to excuse the game's fault despite it doing the exact same shit but worse.

Bring FF back. Also, all these live action remakes are making me skeptical about the next game.

Attached: Marloosha and Larckseen.png (640x360, 85K)

I want to sniff those pits.

>KH3 is confirmed to be a big success
Financially? It met expectations.
Critically? Hell no. This game is deemed a massive disappointment by fans and critics alike.

It probably smells like sweat and deodorant!

>Critically? No
Stop memeing.

Attached: 173704794.jpg (1080x859, 162K)

No, I think you just misinterpreted my comment. I never defended a thing about the Pirates world of KH2, I simply clarified which game's version of it I was referring to while complaining about KH3's handling of Disney worlds as a whole. Either way you won't hear me defending KH2's Pirate world, I've always found it dull and it's one of KH2's worst offenders in the 'it's just the movie again but worse' respect. It's just that KH3 was way shittier about that problem on the whole than KH2 ever was, including KH2's Pirates world.

Either way, I'm not looking to bicker, just making sure we're on the same page now.

You do realize that's like BBS tier, a psp game.

See pic related, it was a flop that only got mediocre scores because of game journalists pandering to fans and fanboys unwilling to accept it for the trash it is. All that really matters is how the public views it, and everyone already unanimously agrees it's shit.

Attached: 158354922427.jpg (674x368, 62K)

KH2 has almost the same score. Just shut up.

Attached: 12074876.jpg (1080x795, 159K)

>Everyone just pretended to like it
I also like to make shit up to win an argument.

Critics do that, yes, especially IGN.

What a tragedy, BBS was the second best game in the series behind KH1

1723 players who aren't IGN didn't pretend to do
86 other critics aren't IGN

In terms of critical response, all I ever really hear general game reviewers say about it is that it's a game for the hardcore fans, the plot makes no sense if you try and jump in on this game so please don't, and that it's pretty fun mechanically but it's very easy, magic is too strong, and attractions are too common. That's about it, really, at least from the reviews I bothered pulling up to see how broader types of gamer responded to it. Mind you, I'm not criticising or complimenting anything, I'm just saying these are the comments I remember hearing en mass when the game came out, not any huge praise really, save for some of them saying that the game is really fucking pretty, and to be fair, the constant explosions of particle effects and all the updated models are fairly nice, so I get why. That's it though, there wasn't really anything else that was given grandiose praise or hate. Oh, save for some reviewers complaining a lot about things like the Frozen world just being dogshit retellings of their source material remade in-engine. A few of them really hated that and kept making comments about how it's literally just the movies again but done with extraordinarily bad pacing and plotholes. I remember one reviewer commenting that they had never seen Frozen and didn't understand the final boss at-fucking-all, let alone who the fuck was going on during pic related or why some guy was about to stab the ice bitch the reviewer had just spent a few in-game hours with.

Attached: 1e1ed.jpg (1280x720, 168K)

>people play crossover games without knowing the source material
Why? I know this guy is abreviewer but some people actually do this.

Attached: Uhhh.jpg (204x308, 18K)

When did I ever say IGN was the only other outlet that does that? Did you even read any of the reviews for this game? Modern video game critics are a joke.

Eh that could get stale quickly if they pick the wrong games. A lot of square's games have similar medieval fantasy settings if we're only going with their rpg games.

>All I ever hear
Yeah if you're only searching for reviews who spout the shit you agree with of course you're gonna find what you want. Metacritic is an amalgamation of most game reviews and shows the best way what the truth is. Despite your insistence on "the game bombed critically" Metacritic shows something quite the contrary. Games can have flaws without being garbage. If you think the game is a 1/10, great your 1 of 1700 people who all rated the game differently

Also some reviewers complained that the plot doesn't even start until the game's climax, complaining about how Sora's trying to figure out the Power of Waking for the first like 15-20 hours of gameplay so that he can safely go to the Realm of Darkness and save Aqua, and then he never really does figure it out per se. Sora just kind of gets tired of waiting, recklessly plunges into the Realm of Darkness, fractures Aqua's skull with his glorified lead pipe of a weapon, and then everything was better again, no reprecussion for doing all this before figuring out the Power of Waking, and yes, fixing NORTED corruption is apparently literally as easy as winning a fight with said NORTED individual. So, that all just neatly wraps up within the span of one in-game hour after tons of build-up, and it's resolved without Sora earning said resolution whatsoever, so it almost feels like it's making fun of the viewer for bothering to pay attention to the setup of Sora needing the Power of Waking PRIOR to trying to save Aqua. A lot of reviewers noticed this and complained about it, including several of the ones who called the plot incoherent anime nonsense in general.

Eh, a lot of people do this to be fair. Plenty of us didn't know what the fly shit a Fire Emblem was before Marth showed up in a crossover fighting game, so yeah, I kind of get it, but I do agree with your point in spirit.

You are the same kind of joke who lies to win.

>Cross-over between FF and Disney
>No FF characters, irrelevant and soulless Disney parts only there for the cashgrab
Is Kingdom Hearts dead?

>Yeah if you're only searching for reviews who spout the shit you agree with of course you're gonna find what you want.
Don't start off with projection and strawmanning, user. I looked at a bunch of reviews, including ones from sites I generally hate the opinions of, because I was curious about how normies and other types of nerd than myself felt about KH3. The game had a lot of hype behind it so I enjoyed indulging in the reception to it as a kind of cultural event to spectate.
>Despite your insistence on "the game bombed critically"
Yea Forums is not one person. I am not the user who said any of that. The comment you responded to before this one is the only contribution I made to the discussion you've been having with someone else, if not multiple people. I am not if you think I am.
>Games can have flaws without being garbage. If you think the game is a 1/10, great your 1 of 1700 people who all rated the game differently
I'd give KH3 like an 8.5 mechanically, a straight 10 visually, and maybe a 5 in the writing department. That's doesn't shake out to a bad score, let alone this presumptuous 1/10 you're trying to put in my mouth.

You okay, user? You came at me real aggressive for how neutral my comment was, and it's the only thing I've posted in this thread save for the samefag I added onto it here:

Attached: 1466717040820.gif (379x440, 140K)

They're pretty much out of new disney worlds to do at this point. I would love to see them do more 2D worlds so they could do the whole cel-shading thing with the artstyle shifting but I can't really think of any besides princess and the frog. Robin Hood or Jungle Book would just be weird at this point. Maybe they could just start doing a bunch more SE worlds or something.

>and then he never really does figure it out
He does though, he figures out he's been using it since KH1 thanks to Chirithy.

The way Disney is going I wouldn't be surprised if the next KH featured only LA remake-worlds so i'd unironically prefer for KH to drop as much disneyshit as it can and go full OC.

Did they update their sales figures? I only remember that they said it did 5 million first month or so

>Best KH bar KH2FM
>People seething it did well
Fuck you Yea Forums, can't wait for Re:Mind so it reaches kino status just like KH2 did.

Yes, he learns that way, way after he saved Aqua from the Realm of Darkness when him learning how to control that power was supposed to be a prerequisite to the mission. To clarify, I meant that he never figures out the power prior to diving into the Realm of Darkness, not prior to credits rolling on KH3 as a whole, since I was talking specifically about that plot point.

>he figures out he's been using it since KH1
wait, wha
I think I missed something. what do you mean? this was discussed?

What's the fucking point? All the bland one-note characters from the handheld games are now permanently part of the cast with some new faggot in the secret ending coming soon.
Even if we finally get niche stuff like Black Cauldron, Atlantis, or Treasure Planet, the side characters will go there and have zero chemistry whatsoever with the Disney characters like with the fags from BBS while Sora only visits worlds based on AAA movies like Zootopia, Moana, Incredibles, Finding Nemo, nu-Pirates, and Frozen 2.

after seeing frozen tangled and the newest pirates world i'm honestly kinda fucking done with the disney worlds. they were a pointless fucking slog that was just 1:1 with the movies. even though toy box and big hero were fucking lame at least they were original stories

Attached: 1548247430948.jpg (600x600, 24K)

Yes, half the Chirithy discussion is Chrithy calling Sora an idiot for not realizing he's been using it since the beginning and the Keyblade Wielders of the present just weren't calling it the "Power of Waking" like they did in the KHUX days.

Honestly the series is now entirely unfixable after KH3, may as well add shit like this and a actual Chicken Little world just to fuck it up even more.

Toy Box was my favorite
>mfw Woody shittalking

Attached: Cute Bitch.png (670x668, 574K)

It was a fun game, especially after Critical was added in and magic was nerfed a bit. It could really use more post-game stuff, but that'll come with time when we get whatever big Final Mix DLC package Nomura keeps eluding to wanting to make, since he keeps saying he wants to do one or two big DLC's instead of a bunch of small stuff.

I'd rather look forward to the whole Disney animated film crossover thing being releavant again. Can't they make a Donald and Goofy gaiden game where the main villain is an actual Disney character?

Whether you like the people you heard the opinions of doesn't matter. When all I hear from you or another user that the game is shit according to critics, while not showing any evidence, it's natural for me to go off from assumptions. I've shown you evidence that the game didn't fail critically. You didn't. That's fact.
>I am not the user who said any of that.
Then you should have specified that because the discussion is all about whether the game failed critically. Everything else you said is goalposting.

Well there is this:
>Darkwing Duck
>Monterey Jack
>Demona
>The fucking Horned King

Fuck Square Enix & fuck Disney.

Wait more than a decade for an embarrassing sequel with little playable content, a poorly paced schlock filled story & no fucking Final Fantasy characters?

Killed my interest in the franchise completely.

Using Disney's television and CGI stuff diminishes the whole concept's prestige.

KH4 is not a thing, it's neither a concept nor a plan at this point. Anything they teased in secret endings and any theory you might have will just be for the next few spin offs. We might get one or two edgy square focused spin offs and then KH4 will be like KH3 again, a big ad for Disney.

>Killed my interest in the franchise completely.
Good. No one wants you there anyway.

Didn't they outright confirm that in the III ultimania?

I actually don't blame him for leaving since i followed the series since the first one.

Neither did I.

We will probably be dead by the time SE even announces it's starting a new kingdom hearts.

Either that or we will get 5 or 6 spin offs that dont fucking matter and everyone will just suffer burnout.

Will ReMind be the only DLC coming out?

Attached: Smug Murderer Sora.jpg (1024x759, 60K)

>its ok user, we don't want your money anyway

Attached: 1561705582932.jpg (338x347, 37K)

Remind is a package that contains 2 DLC from what I can remember
>Limit (~13 new Bosses)
>Secret (Additional scenario + cutscenes + 1 Superhard boss on the level of Lingering Will)
Also add in some free shit like Crit and a new keyblades (Oath and Oblivion) and I think that's it.

I think the series will survive without you.

I mean if the secret ending is any indication it's gonna be DDD part 2. All they need to do is polish up the combat and make it so that switching between Sora and Riku isn't done by a gauge reaching 0.
>which worlds and characters you wanna see
Outside of the given TWEWY and Not FFVXIII give me pic related.

Attached: 1552872554749.jpg (1200x729, 222K)

I still don't understand though. When did Sora use it in KH1? When he landed safely in Traverse Town? But I thought the whole idea is that all sorts of people wind up there when their worlds die, not just keyblade wielders, so I can't imagine you mean that. I'm just not sure I get it. The Power of Waking is mostly travel-related, isn't it? I don't remember much travel outside of the gummi ship in KH1, but it's been a long time for me so I guess I'm forgetting something that happened.

Little do you know how necessary I am to the Kingdom Hearts series.

Without me guiding it, this franchise is going the way of Shining Force.

When he creates pathways to other worlds (Like End of the World) that's a usage of it. During the "KINGDOM HEARTS IS LIGHT" bit that's doing it. It's travel related to an extent, a very easy example of it being used in 3 is right at the start when Sora opens up a portal to Olympus, then when he pops open a portal that leads to Destiny Islands then directly to Aqua using Master's Defender.

user, the entire point of my comment was to summarize a lot of opinions from a lot of public figures. I did not shit on the game, I just said "a lot of people seemed to feel this way, and a lot of them commented on this or that specifically." You seem really defensive considering your tone. I never once claimed the game failed on any level. It sold like hotcakes and reviewed very positively, just with some asterisks from reviewers about how it's not friendly to newcomers for plot reasons and other such comments that have already come up. The only people claiming that the game sold poorly are blatently trying to stir the pot. The game's quality can be debated, but its sales sure can't, and even then, the game plays pretty damn well even if I have a few gripes here and there, most of which haven't been discussed. Still, most of my complaints are just things like how I had fun with Remy's restaurant and wish there was more to do with it.

Pretty sure the secret scenario and the additional one are completely different. Reminds coming with 3 scenarios

That's fine too. Either way I'm more or less done with the franchise after KH3, the ending was infuriating and I don't want to give Nomura another cent. At best I'll buy a sequel if I hear it's the mechanical second coming of KH2, but with Osaka team on payroll, I'm not holding my breath until then.

Attached: 1436748126315.jpg (720x480, 32K)

>During the "KINGDOM HEARTS IS LIGHT" bit that's doing it.
When he made the Door to Darkness burn Ansem? The Power of Waking can function as a magic attack? I'm not trying to be an ass if it seems like it, I'm just genuinely confused.

Attached: 1535846867289.gif (220x212, 2.57M)

>edgy square focused spinoffs
Lmao are you retarded?

When the door opened to the Realm of Darkness.

Maybe not explicitly "edgy square-focused", but I remember people mentioning that the Ultimania said that there will likely be at least one game between Kingdom Hearts III and IV.

where the fuck is the playable Lingering Will you fucking niggers

Attached: lingering reaction.jpg (965x2497, 1.32M)

Oh, the power in effect was Sora simply willing the door open? Alright, yeah, that makes a bit more sense to me than it somehow being a light-based attack in of itself. So the light was already behind the door, Sora's Power of Waking simply opened it and let that out, incidentally hurting Ansem in the process. I think I get it now, or at least a little bit more than I did previously. Thanks.

Lingering Will being under utilized in 3 was fucking bullshit
I've been waiting so long for him to return and he only showed up for about 2 minutes

Attached: 1529950227677.png (320x311, 71K)

honestly seeing him kicking the fuck out of Xehanort and scaring him shitless while Sora and Donald having PTSD was god tier

shame it was only 2 fucking minutes for god sake i want more

Attached: PTSD.png (852x481, 888K)

I just want the series to end. Fuck KH3's ending, all that build up and emotion for ANOTHER cliffhanger, all because Nomura is still pissy that he didn't get to waste more money on V13. It's painfully obvious how he changed the ending at the past minute to be something 'sad', to the point where none of what happened to Sora makes sense.
>Sora, spend all of a game trying to unlock this macguffin power (which we're not even going to really mention in that game)!
>You didn't unlock it, so now spend 3/4 of this game trying to unlock it!
>Good job, you unlocked it! Now don't use it or you might die!
>You used it and died, but now you're in Japan! But Riku is there too! And so is that Not!Noctis from Toy Box and the Master of Masters!
>BE SURE TO BUY THE DLC AND NEXT GAME TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON!

I mean it was a really fucking cool 2 minutes. Hopefully REMIND will expand on it.

Attached: 1549826239464.png (1024x576, 691K)

I want to know where the fuck he went after he chased off Teranort. He just kind of vanishes by the time you find Teranort in his boss room during the way too easy boss gauntlet.

>Now that KH3 is confirmed to be a big success
Stop.

It sold over five million copies within a week.
Cope.

Really, man? It sold a shit ton of copies.

I don't care as long as the worlds aren't as shitty as everything in KH3 sans Pirates

EPIC MICKEY WORLD
JUSTICE TO OSWALD

it wasn't great but you can't deny the fact that it sold the most copies of any KH game

>Watched the rehash cinematic about the smart phone game, thinking it will be somehow revelant to the story
>Doesn't turn out to be revelant at all
>"What's in the fucking box" again

At this point, I don't really care about this franchise anymore. Probably won't even bother with the DLC.

...

I just want to have more Aqua, have her in a crop top or something that shows her beautiful midriff and have her dominated and humiliated

>He thinks the cinematic is the whole story of KHUX.
I bet you don't even know what Lauriam was talking about when he was dying, Elrena too. The cinematic is literally there only to introduce Luxu and MoM while showing us what the Foretellers were up to compared to Player. Player's side is way more important and has a bunch of important stuff going on but the downside is there's tons of filler.

>which worlds and characters you wanna see and play as in the next game?
I expect that the next KH game will heavily reuse assets made for KH3, thus being a "cheaper" game and be done in a faster time, and that it will have more creative freedom to use shit like TWEWY, Verum Rex or even FF characters/Radiant Garden, which are only merely hinted at in the game. That secret trailer was a total tease.

Of course, my real hopes it's that Nomura does a flip and does a FFX-2 style of game with a team based on Kairi, Namine and Xion to save Sora from death, instead of doing DDD-2.

>Of course, my real hopes it's that Nomura does a flip and does a FFX-2 style of game with a team based on Kairi, Namine and Xion to save Sora from death, instead of doing DDD-2.
>Nomura giving the spotlight to females
Good one user. You'll get some more fujoshipping with Riku and you'll like it.

The dude is the most closeted person in fucking existence. Makes DDD completely to stablish a romantic relationship between Sora and Riku and then half-asses a canon romantic relationship between Sora and Kairi in like 3 scenes while making Riku try to hook up his clone to Naminé. Then, makes the secret trailer ALL about Riku and Sora again.

It was a dissapointment. A true end to the series is really the only way to do KHIV: Endgame. No more beaches or mem-wipes, No more half rehashed movies, no more retreads of plot points from previous chapters. The characters could then be free of Disney to feature in other games if that's Squenix's intent, or just stop twisting the mystery back onto itself. KHIII delivered nothing but disappointment and blandness It was too by-the-numbers for a "modern game".

Even a spin-off series like "Keyblade Wars" where literally NONE of the Disney stuff (or possibly none of the Keyblade holders from the other series) was included would be an improvement. SOmething that is an aRPG with FF moves and spells thrown in, maybe some SQ/E game-worlds to explore, that's fine. If there's summons let them be for SQ/E properties, Maybe partner up with Erdrick or Freya or CId or Brave Fencer Musashi. Maybe Summon a silver slime to raise your evade to infinite, maybe have the corvette from Rad Racer plow through a crowd of shades. Summon Behemoth to fuck up everyone's day, Travel to different worlds on the back of Flammie. I could get behind a spin off, if that shit wasn't putting me to sleep with yet another dull Disney b-plot.

Everything post KH1 turns out to be Sora having a bad dream
