I wouldn't mind 11 starting characters, but the fact of the matter is the characters are very simple. When BlazBlue launched with 12 characters, all the characters were extremely varied and brought a plethora of playstyles. GBF doesnt seem to do that.

I'm fine with the simplicity. The game is clearly trying to be something like Garou, focusing more on footsies and neutral. There's enough variety between even the beta roster.

How good is she? I got her recently

Unlike most FLB SSRs who need to be grinded to 100 to be at their best, she gets her important buff at 90. She buffs the team, provides delay and veil, so she's pretty solid. On some fights, could be core. The only thing is her buffs are RNG, but the cooldown on it is reset on ougi, so if you can provide meter so she can ougi often, she'll perform well.

I like how Cygames gave us 9k crystals in the past week for literally nothing other than throwing free shit at us, thanks KMR, you put me over the halfway point for a spark

I'm busy grinding Jeanne to Level 100. I love her, but her damage output sometimes seems a lot worse than D. Jeanne. I think I may just be doing something wrong

Jeanne got a shitton of buffs tho, even if she's not dealing as much herself, she has the teamwide stamina effect, maybe you should proritize healing effects to keep your damage up with that

Well Io can work for now. She can heal which helps keep Jeanne's party stamina up and her buffs aren't that bad. You just have to manage her stacks, which can be annoying and costs CB to get but Jeanne's 2 can help with that.

The two of them serve different purposes. Light box is a selfish attacker who hits pretty hard, while light zoi’s whole utility comes from her 3rd skill, which lets light unga through hard content ie lucilius HL and UBHL. Zoi isn’t really used in much outside of those endgame raids + soloing, and box isn’t really that great outside of para content and bhl.

The DLC will be characters they have to add in to the RPG mode and add a storyline to so I doubt it'll be the non playable already in the game

I can imagine them being something like:

The only characters that are samey are Gran, Katalina and Percival since they are echo shotos who have one or two things that separate them. The other characters are all very different and I love them so I have no real worry about the remaining three characters.

It honestly is expensive to get a huge roster and would indefinitely push for delays. The snippets we are getting for Relink is they are trying to go for as many favorites as possible in an RPG, which is even more work than a fighting game. Ambition sometimes kills development.

I liked all the characters in the beta, each of them had fun mechanics thanks to their unique action and the non shotos having cool abilities.

Gran I had the most fun with because of how strong his safe jumps are and how fast he recovers from abilities. I think Gran surprisingly has the most scum tactics in the game thanks to that and the fact that his auto combo make him airborne. He wins almost every clash scenario and can knee you twice or three times in the face for a true combo string, it's kind of gross. So I never really understood some people talking about how straightforward things are when my perception of the game after the beta was more like "there's a lot of scum mechanics in this game"

I just got strong enough to unlock Arcanum but what's the best way to go about farming it? I know I'm supposed to go for judgement summon or whatever that one with the cat is for my basic wind grid I'm still working on, but I mean in terms of being efficient with badges since it kicks you out at each checkpoint.

Should I stockpile a couple badges before trying to make my way to the center?

It is only worth stockpiling when you are at the point you can skip the expeditions and don't care about less loot.

Do you know how many checkpoints there are from a starting route until Sephira?

You wanna beeline it to Extreme as soon as you can cause it's not worth farming below it. Once you clear all of hard you can buy Monika who's pretty good for a welfare character, or keep saving for Evoker/Summon mats.
For summons you'd want to get the attack up summon, but Wind's arcarum summon calls aren't that great so you'd be getting toot for it's sub aura specifically.
If you're gunning for an oracle just know you're probably gonna have to commit for months cause of how time gated arcarum is.

Hmm, alright I think I'll still get the toot cat for the aura because I think it'll help while I still work on finishing my omega grid. Once I get that sorted I'll look into what exactly I want next

Do your daily hard or hard+ raids and convert normal animas into omegas if you're running out. Unfortunately normal omegas are sort of dead on twitter now.

Probably the center/last stage?
Anyways there are 9 stages per route and each stage has three areas. Every third stage is a boss, the first two bosses are an elemental puppet and the last boss of the route is an Arcarum summon. You get a checkpoint after clearing a stage.

You can get one of each omega animu per day from the casino. Doesn't seem much but it adds up quickly.

You can also get a few from daily co-op rewards if you're desperate.

I would hate it, but be fine in some regard to it since that means there are more characters in the game and they'd have to be extremely lazy to make eternals boring characters to play as.

This is what annoys me the most. The biggest strength of granblue as a fighting game would be the variety and uniqueness of the characters in terms of gameplay. Lot of it wouldn't even require any real hard thinking to come up with the idea either. Outside of like Ferry and kinda lancelot everyone plays very samey and it's also because of the way they also set up the game too with it's all the same autocombo bs. There's barely anything to work with the characters so even as a spectator you're just watching the same thing every match. People are giving the "Oh it's simple" excuse as a shield to dodge against the actual criticism. Simple is not a problem, shallow is and Versus is more shallow than it is just simple.

Versus philosophy should be simple and unique from character to character. Not shallow and samey. Even if they made everyone Ferry unique as the standard then I wouldn't even be saying this. The base roster and game's current status as it is now gives no confidence on investing in future characters or the game as a whole.

Personally, I only pick up my monthly potions and berries from the casino because I hate all the minigames.
