I want a comfy racing/driving game like NfS Underground, GTA, Truck Simulator 2...

tried GRID?

never. Looks like GT.

much more arcadey than GT

How is the soundtrack?

I don't do racing games but my brother plays them pretty much exclusively. He says that Forza (Horizon 4 I believe?) has the most varied and enjoyable driving of any game he's played. He says it has issues like any (I believe the fastest cars all drive pretty similarly), but it's a good balance between realism and arcade-style racing.

if you want a good sim: forza motorsport 7
if you want more arcadey: forza horizon

Forza Horizon 4

for racing there hasnt been a good racing game since NFS Underground 1 & 2. Just play those.
GTA San Andreas is still great.
If you want serious driving Eurotruck Sim 2 is surprisingly good for a new game.
other than that driving as a genre is deader than RTS games.

midnight club 3 nigga

Flatout 1 & 2?
Criterion's NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted?
DiRT 2, 3 and Rally?
Burnout Paradise?
American Truck Simulator?
Gran Turismo 5 & 6?
Forza Horizon?
Project Cars?
C'mon user, if you don't like racing games you don't have to play them.

The midnight club games are good for driving and racing. I had Midnight Club LA and spent most of my time cruising and customising paintjobs for my cars.

My Summer Car is very comfy

Forza Horizon

The Crew 1 has a top tier map, too bad the rest is meh.

Fuck off MS shills. Jesis.

Go play the old NFS games - they are extremely comfy.

Horizon 4 is pretty comfy but ruined at times by the kiddie shit.

Worst post in the thread

>I haven't played any racing game since NFS Underground 1 & 2
ftfy, faggot.

try Enthusia Professional Racing

I just finished playing some High Stakes. I feel like they tried to slap more mechanics on to the formula but you don't get to drive as freely as the series is known for. There's too much fluff in the game. Hot Pursuit is the most arcade and pure experience.

Assetto Corsa with mods
The Crew (first one)

whats the best driving games besides truck sim series that's not about racing ? i already got plenty of racing vidya.

MSC counts to an extent I guess.

Finally someone who agrees with me. High stakes/Road challenge is too many different ideas that diminish the polish of the final product. Track design and the physics suffer because they wanted to move towards are more comprehensive experience - ultimately - didn't really coalesce until underground.

BeamNG? It's a sandbox

genki games.
Realize what you've been missing out on.

isn't that more about crashing cars in a sim for stunt production? i mean that sounds fun itself but is there a big world to drive around in?

>Assetto Corsa with mods
shuto revival project is fantasticly comfy all you do is cruise around with bros around night tokyo and sometimes a race breaks out.

trackmania 2 stadium

there isn't and its a crash sim. It's only really good with rally.
It's moddable and only reason to really play it is get automation

Attached: Hometown purple diablo.webm (720x405, 1.7M)

tokyo xtreme racer series, kaido racer series.

Genki is fucking based.

There are a number of maps you can download, some are small and some are bigger (I think the biggest is 11x11 km), some are offroad courses, some have a bunch of ramps and jumps, there are some urban maps and race tracks...it's about doing whatever you want. You can just crash cars like a maniac or you can just cruise around. There are mods that add AI traffic and everything too.

You'll need a stronk PC to handle the bigger maps and a lot of AI cars though

sounds really neat

Forza horizon 4 is very good tbqh

Assetto Corsa with freeroam track mods (LA Canyons for instance)

any good ones on steam?

fuck you, for a second I thought NFSIISE got opensourced
fuck you

I run it via DGvoodoo and it works perfectly. While that webm (as is this) is a bit old these days I play the game at 4k.

and sounds and music works properly?

Not OP but in Forza motorsport 7 do I start off in a supercar or not? That's mainly what puts me off it desu, I want to start in some shitty road car, upgrade it and work my way up to the super cars and what not, ala gran turismo. is forza like that?

Once you nab the eax for any soundcard patch (pcgamingwiki has a link) yes, yes it does. Nglide is another alternative to DGvoodoo but personally I get Z buffer fighting with it.

I see what you went for but you oversaturated the color

>tfw no more cheat codes

love that game

you can start with a shitbox, it's not like horizon where you can win a S class hypercar in a wheelspin within an hour of starting the game

Believe it or not, no. In a thread ages ago user was waxing nostalgic about the game and asked for a webm of a purple diablo on that and track so I kindly man one for them. In my opinion the diablo SV should only be yellow. Other models can be whatever colour but SV must be yellow.

get genki games, literally.
You can pmuch keep the starting car till end of the game and gradually upgrade it

you could still have picked a better shade of purple

To be fair to me I cannot into webms so I wasn't sure if it would wash out in the compression.

not to be nitpicky about everything but you could also use some analog controller so the steering wheel doesn't look as jerky as when using digital input

Attached: summit - ski lodge, summit tunnel.webm (457x244, 3M)

It it analog just not tuned correctly. I've fixed it recently (no webms recorded) by massively softening the suspension to get the smooth drift as the rear pulls outward but with high sensitivity to get that initial flick and shift momentum.

Also: in 1997 this was the height of TECHNOLOGY.

It's great

NFS: hot pursuit 2010 is a comfy game as well.

Unironically The Crew 1/2.
TC1 has a terrible story mode, but forces you to actually travel the map and leads to some nice driving.
TC2 has better handling and more racing variety, but you can just fast-travel everywhere. losing the charm of the first game. Also, the game launched with no MP and removed several QoL stuff like the GPS, not sure if that shit is solved 2 years later.
Also, the first game has a superb OST

Sadly it only plays during missions, but god bless Joseph Trapanese.

>ask for a game rec
>get a reccomendation
>Ohmergerd yur all shillz
What's it like living with the knowledge that your mother should have had anal that night?

Every racing game thread you will find MS shills desperately trying to peddle their annual skinnerbox.

You don't play racing games but imagine if someone made a thread asking for some singleplayer FPS games to play through and a bunch of shills came in telling him to play Fortnite and buy all the microtransactions.

user just because you personally don't like the Horizon games doesn't mean they aren't extremely solid racing games and just exactly what people that aren't sim autists are looking for.

Oh, you're a shill too.
