The gameplay looks fine, it's the world map I'm interested in. Is it going to be fun to explore, outright hostile like a Gothic or just flat and boring like a Ubisoft game?

My bets are "both sides turn out to be morally grey, colonialists are arbitrarily darker but you can choose to continue to side with them anyway" or "turns out there's a third side that you get story-prodded into joined 60% of the way through the game".
