face it, these are not video games. they're just teenage weeb visual novels with some lazy """combat"""" and pokemon mechanics thrown in.
Face it, these are not video games...
> Westernfags still seething
Based Sony
kawakami is cute!!!
>lazy combat
Ironically there's more "Strategy" to these TBC games than there was in any final fantasy
Best girl
My dick gets rock hard everytime she calls me master
mommy...
>upgrade pc so I can emulate ps3 and play this game
>it's shit
>drop the game after doing first palace
>he will never feel his face between kawakami's thighs
>mfw people forget Pokemon copied SMT back in the 90s
>"Pokemon" mechanics
smash bros isn't a video game
agreed on persona though. jrpgs are the lowest form of game genre
actually pokemon copied dragon quest V, which in turn copied smt.
Nah the combat isn't lazily done, you can tell they put a lot of work into balancing it meticulously.
>pokemon mechanics
isn't SMT older than pokemon?
That's totally normal, you're part of the ~60% of the male population that would traditionally be used as fodder during wartime. You're basically a subhuman and a complete weakling so desperate for female attention and approval that even virtual, insincere spinsters calling you "master" makes you aroused.
good evening Yea Forums, meet my girlfriend.
.t pedophile
who gives a shit what they are
they're fun and as stupid as the plot can get at times, they're endearing
Same, I have no idea why that game is so popular here. There are plenty of better dating sims that are easier to pirate, and those don't make you jump through bad gameplay hoops to get to the actual stuff you're playing the game for.
>think i wanna hang out with someone tonight!
>CAT: NOPE IT'S YOUR BED TIME
>think i wanna go rent a DVD
>CAT: ISNT THERE SOMETHING ELSE YOU SHOULD BE DOING?
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>DVD 5 days over the return date because the faggot cat keeps railroading
you know that even though Yea Forums is a bunch of c*mbrayns like , people legitimately like the game for way more than the dating right? Playing on the hardest mode makes me feel like I'm playing SMT in a persona setting with interesting places to go. In general, SMT and doing stuff in the overworld is way more fun than actually dating

I found the weakness exploit gameplay pretty tired. I played persona 2, 3 and 4 in my child/teenhood and I liked them but this one was a hard miss. maybe I'm getting too old and jaded.
And chances are most other users are older than OP.
>hurr he likes the game for things other than anime waifu, he's totally gay
lol I don't get personal fulfillment nor my kicks to persona relationship dialogue. No clue how that makes me gay
I generally find going for the academic girl is the most interesting in persona, or at least mitsuru was by far the most interesting out of all the girls in P3.
I didn't notice anything broken with the exploit system on the hardest difficulty in my playthrough. Enemies had more or less the same difficulty as something like DDS and buffs/debuffs were still the name of the game. Maybe as you've gotten older, you've seen too much of the franchise?
>s...s...seriously bro, i'm not homossexual!
I really enjoy fusing personas and making my own teams of each persona with a niche.
I made a Gun God Arsene but passed on that role to Satanael once I got him.
What should I make Arsene into? An all-around kinda persona with physical and magic?
test
t. kawakami mommy poster, the straightest boy alive
My friend got really mad when I set the game to hard. Every time we lost a fight he would get more and more upset and kept asking to just go back to the start and set it to normal. I found it challenging and fun and eventually we did fight our way through some of the tough fights but rather than feeling accomplished he was just glad to be done with it.
These games really are just dating sims
Imagine being an indignant little faggot who starts up a game with the mindset "if this game doesn't BLOW ME AWAY I'm going to shitpost about it on an anonymous imageboard!"
Don't recall, but isn't Arsene pretty bad aside from his agility? I remember fusing him into something but I can't for the life of me remember what
P5 ruined the combat and demon collecting aspects. P3 has some actually challenging encounters.
>dungeon crawling and exploration
>walking around town
>not video games
like I get it, it’s a jrpg and you don’t like jrpgs but it’s still more video games than Last of Us or God of War will ever be.
almost done with NG+ run, gonna double dip when royal comes out and when it comes out on Switch in a year
better yet, the game did blow away a good amount of people. Imagine going up to them and saying "h-h-haha imagine liking a game I d-didn't like, what a bitch haha"
>Pokemon mechanics
Nigga, pokemon STOLE that shit from SMT.
I'll never understand why Purseowner got so popular but DeSu was doomed into irrelevancy.
You can make any persona god tier.
The freedom you get with these new fusion mechanics is unreal.
Get over it Nintendork
No it isn't. TLOU and God of War required you to do stuff besides wander around the map and leaf through DVD menus
how I’d like to do an all arse end run
>makes me feel like I'm playing SMT
absolutely disgusting. SMT is fucking garbage
>Solved dungeon crawling parts with terrible balance and even worse execution
>Empty spaces that only serve as backgrounds for VN sections
>Videogames
SMT is videogames. Persona is a VN.
what are some VN's with good mommy/teacher characters to romance
Fuse some skills down to Arsene, then sacrifice more persona to him to give him more exp. When you sacrifice a persona to another they have a chance of learning one of the sacrificed persona's skills too. You might have to save and reset a lot but eventually you can get whatever moves you want (unless it's a unique move to that persona).
Dumbfuck, the only downside to Persona games in the past was the random nature of the main dungeons. Now that those are gone (mementos still impements them as an additional feature anyway), there's no categorical difference between the crawling you do in SMT and what you do in Persona. on the hardest difficulty, the balance is just fine.
I do admit though SMT fights have this sci-fi / fantasy ambiance to them that makes them really satisfying.
I liked p3 dungeons better. the randomly generated hallways of tartarus are very euclidean and set an eerie tone for the game. the "personal" dungeons in 4 and 5 are more dreamlike and not as tonally effective to me.
Okay. Now what?
You seem really easy to impress.
How so? That seems less like an argument and more "hurr, I didn't like it, anybody who does is clearly a dork." I have my criticisms for P5 as I do a lot of persona and SMT games, but overall I came out liking it. Having a complex opinion on something yet still enjoying it is fine.
But let's suppose that I was easily impressed. What then? If that's the case, that means that I'd have fun with the majority of titles out there. I liked RE2 and RE2 remake right after both their respective releases. What exactly does "being easily impressed" have to do anything, and how does it actually mean as an insult?
Yup
>there's no categorical difference between the crawling you do in SMT and what you do in Persona.
What about the quality and complexity of the crawling you do? Because P5's palaces feel as thoughtfully designed as a shitty dungeon in a last gen FF or Tales game, and that's on purpose.
Persona is broken when it comes to combat, too. The game loses all challenge due to the protagonist's Persona mechanics, a leftover from back when they made sense on P3 for a number of reasons, including having actual control over whatever happened in battle and not falling prey to absurd amounts of RNG. But in nuPersona? It just outright breaks the game, making you effectively unkillable in every situation, regardless of difficulty, and that outright fucks up the core gameplay loop to an absurd degree. The fact it's lasted this long means the Persona team just doesn't give a fuck about gameplay, thinking a stupid forced guessing game, trial and error and any subsequent playthroughs outright lacking the possibility for failure is somehow acceptable. No other SMT game, be it mainline or a spinoff, is as outright braindead as Persona and in fact most of them shit on the bad habits games like P5 outright coddle you into because they actually have some degree of strategical depth and variety.
