how should i outfit wolf frigates

Why don't I have a qt Luddite path gf

>pirate raid on sector
>too weak to fight them head on
>lure them with emergency burn into merc patrols instead
making bank some bank with them pirates. should I buy a big dumb carrier or a fast one?

Where the fuck are these space lobsters coming from

this screenshot is a joke right?

why?

Sindrian Pajeets
They wanna claim theyre an empire but theyre literally Fuel and Lobstor merchants

drovers, condors, and astrals are dedicated carriers and are pretty good.
morasa and legions are fucking unkillable bricks that shit out fighters but sorta weak weapon wise
heron isn't bad but a fast carrier isn't that useful compared to pure carrier

a million space bucks and 4 or 5 Ds on almost everything

wow enjoy never catching up to anything bro

See that money? I only ever survey and ferry goods. Anyone that ambushes me usually gets fucked. I can even usually take on Domain probes just fine
I am SCREAMING for actual fighters tho, I have the fucking money but no one sells them, even on the black market

just bully some [REDACTED] for some sparks bro. One of the best fighter types in the game

Where
Is my shitty little fleet enough? I also have 2 drone carriers

thanks, mayte. this shit is expensive to load up though.

>The only assholes that can produce fuel
>Not important.

When have you ever ran out of fuel besides being a poorfag?

How the FUCK do we fix the conquest? I say the forward 2 large mounts get an extra 90 degrees to their arc so they can fire forward as well. This adds alot more flexibility as now you have the option of broadsiding with 2 large and 2 medium ballistics, or front firing with 2 large ballistic, 2 medium energy, and 2 large missile. This also encourages a symmetrical layout taking advantage of the HBI rather than current prevailing loadouts favoring 1 side kitted out with just PD. Ships also have pretty shit lateral movement, if the conquest is firing and moving forward or back it can accelerate and use it's speed better.

Attached: Conquest2.png (190x400, 138K)

Dude, sell the ships with 3 or more Ds. Try to buy new ones, instead of recovering it from fight.

Attached: 15164699041320s.jpg (163x170, 3K)

>mrms aren't very good unless they are on a ship that can flank and fire them, like a frigate
>consider putting single fire torpedos on the missile slots and using more OP on subsystems and primary weapons
>mlm's just dont play to onslaughts strength which is getting in the face of shit and tanking while doing sustained damage
what's the best weapon to use?

reaper torpedos + something ballistic to take down the shield

How do I move the shields, like the AI does? Is it an special hull feature or something?

>tfw buy this thing cause im dumb and wanted a big dumb cruiser with large ballistic mounts
>put anti-shield ballistics like a gauss and mkIX on it, with finisher missiles
>run simulation against a balanced hammerhead
>fucking gauss might as well be shooting its own fucking ship
>actually get fucking dumpstered by a hammerhead with heavy mortars and harpoons because the fucking flux rises faster than Venezuela's inflation
>i try doing a 180, go with full sabots+hephaestus and devastator
>fire the 3 sabots, hamy's ass starts leaking cum and overloading immediately
>hephaestus and devastator go to town on it
>only now i discover its a ship meant for system defense with shitty flux stats
>put an augmented drive field on it and call it a day

Attached: Dominator_base[1].png (220x180, 79K)

>ship meant for system defense with shitty flux stats
and thats why it's shit overall desu. defensive ships meant to draw fire are fucking useless when the enemy can just go around.

>5(D)s

>find [REDACTED]
>that faction logo
What the fuck

I found a planet with some good shit on it, but the system it’s in is guarded by some remenant ai fags with a space station. My plan is to sneak in and set up my colony then quickly build a spaceport and space station to protect me from their big ass fleet. My question is can remenant forces glass my colony like the regular factions can?

Yes actually. Some ships do better with shields and some dont because of Hullmods

>find an Astral
>ooh neat ill mothball this and bring it back
>get back
>inspect
wtf the upkeep on this is astronomical
i need to shop around for a better freighter, hauling around 3 geminis is no fun.

>it's been 200 years since the collapse
>getting to a system outside the core worlds takes like 3 weeks for the furthest ones
>exploration yields immense profits
how come nobody fucking explored anything until you appeared
it's been 200 fucking years, the whole sector should've been combed through and bled dry apart from the heaviest [REDACTED] hubs

Depends on the warning level

ships either have omni shields or front shields as default, check their description. the one you're talking about is omni shield. with hullmods you can change from one to the other.

Is there a way to strafe sideways without holding shift which makes you aim with the mouse?

>not being an unscrupulous jew that runs the worst hulls imaginable to cut maintenance costs and make mad cash smuggling things
Never gonna make it.

I it said low or medium. They do have 1 space station and 2 active fleets (there’s more but are dormant)

don't blame the ship because you gave it a loadout worse than the fucking autofit. You can put sabots on anything and wreck shit because sabots do all the work for you.

q and e. Also why the fuck are you not using invert shift.

Nexerelin changes that, there will be exploration fleets and even colonization efforts by other factions outside of the core worlds.
>see in intel a colony expedition
>notice that the planet it's headed towards is actually good
>quickly scramble my shit and colonize it first
>faction gets pissed off, but still fucks off

Does this game facilitate role playing well, or am I shoehorned into a combat-type role?

This game looks intriguing but I would like to role play as a combat-avoidant trading fleet.

You make the most money by trade in this game and it gives you several tools to avoid combat like stealth or outspeeding your enemies. It's possible to make millions without having fired a single shot unless you got ambushed by someone.

Because we take place in the time of the rediscovery. You are our bouncing off point. Our overall map is just 1 portion for many others

you can, but the majority of the game is focused on combat. You think you want to be a space trucker, but you don't.

>it's been 50 years since the moon landing
>an asteroid can have a trillion dollars of mining value
>takes only a few months to get into other celestial bodies
how come no one wants to be a trillionaire

Attached: not sure if science.jpg (251x188, 6K)

What do the inactive gates do?
Can I reactivate them?

It just needs to stay close to the fucking station/points of interest so they dont get gangbanged.
>fucking useless when the enemy can just go around.
This doesnt makes any sense to me, any ship 'going around' would just get super dumpstered for getting too close in most cases.

Game is too hard.

It can be done for sure, but you will need to running a pretty small fleet. Larger fleets can’t run away once they get caught by enemy fleet no matter how fast they are.

You can if you wanna specifically wanna be a smuggler jew
ALtruism isnt a thing here but mods help

Got gud

There's a mod for it.

You'll need
>2000 metals
>500 machinery
>250 transplutonic
>250 Volatiles
>1 Gamma core
×2 (at least)

Mankind is more interested in iphones and Michael Bay movies rather than its own advancement as a species.

Is there a way to abandon a size 5 colony that has gone to shit? I found a great planet that is also close to the core systems, but it got raided by pirates and I can't take them head on.

Because there's like 7 factions + mods fighting each other.

>announce that you're going to go mine asteroids and gain resources for far cheaper
>start a research facility to invent mining drones, employ workers and researchers
>your facility gets bombed, your researchers get killed and you probably are murdered by mining multinationals that don't want you to fuck their profits over
simple

Unironically ludo-narrative dissonance my dude
It's a question of diegetic perspective, most people dont bother with scrutinizing game design that deeply, but to an individual inside the universe of the game, the player is usually a turbo-autistic hyper achiever who is numbed to danger and risk, while the player himself merely sees the game for what it is, not to mention an uncharted expanse is always more interesting than the opposite.
Games like Starsector merely try to balance in favor of danger and risk more than the rest.

>resurgence of starsector because of that you tuber who spouts /pol/ memes
I'm glad this game is getting more attention but I hate that guy

The reason is because resources are limited, no one remembers how to make proper ships, and there are waaaay too few humans in the sector. Check a colony. When they're level 6 it only mentions at best hundreds of millions of people.
Also, all of the factions are afraid of making a move since none of them have clear force superiority, and one bad move could mean their collapse.

What youtuber?

Too bad smuggling/trading is straightforward to a fault, the core of the game is to build up your fleet, and the best to way to experience that is in combat, there's not much actual roleplaying to speak of and the game really is closer to Diablo (where you similarly build your character for combat) than it is to actual sandbox rpgs.
Also i think if you try doing only one thing forever you will get bored very fast.

That's actually not too bad, it could be worse

Attached: 1565369957157.png (1920x1080, 519K)

people would probably buy it if they knew about the game at all. I literally forgot i had boughten it and had to go searching through my emails for my key.

What should I put on my Aurora in order to make it a kill machine?

>Medusa in black market for 39k
I remember piloting one of these in an older version as my flagship, are they still good or did they get crippled hard?

they're a good destroyer

they're a destroyer

I found two legions last game and the drone swarms seem to work really well. My question is if you can run a fleet with only energy weapons and stomp?

Too bad, faggot. His review was on point whether you like it or not.

make a disco fleet
all lasers, dump command points into focusing fire

>all those d-mods

Fucking ugandan warlord tier fleet holy shit.

Attached: 344872.jpg (672x960, 93K)

Anyone using the Hazard Mining faction mod? I want to have a comfy life peacefully mining shit.

Is there a mod which removes the travel time between star systems? Or a mod with like 10x speed?

Its just boring and shitty. I would literally rather you went to a jump point, it said how much fuel it will take to jump, and you go instantly to the next star system.

Literally nothing ever happens in warp space, no one can catch you, its just a time sink between A and B.

remember to hold shift

>These fucking guys and their OP as fuck fleets
I hate these guys but at least they make hyperspace not boring

Attached: screenshot020.png (1920x1080, 1.2M)

>not having toggle 2x speed mod and 2x speed toggle for combat mod

is there a speed up mod that works outside combat?

Because it is more expensive to move rocks in space than to mine rocks on earth.

Fucking duh.

I know these things and it doesnt help at all. Going from the core worlds to most other stars for exploration and back still takes forever.

Now if shift did 5x speed it would be worth it.

Stop using slow ships then

There's a mod that reactivates some in-system gates, that speeds up travel.

Going at 13 burn speed is not slow but thanks for the worthless post

Cost of getting to space and getting shit back to earth is extremely expsnive.

I hate how easy the game is.

noice portrait
what mod?

>invert shift
ew, what are you some corvette fag ?

Looked into making the Macross music mod and it just seems like converting the music to an .ogg file and dumping it into the music bin
Would probably take a bit but I can manage it. Probably gonna do quite a lot of tracks from Delta, a few from 7
Any other suggestions?

Attached: GleamingHospitableDuckbillcat-size_restricted.gif (500x288, 3.1M)

Do multiple tugs make you go faster or just use 1?

forgot to mention I might make a portrait mod too using mobage renders and other shit

It increases the speed of the slowest vessel by 1, up to a max of 8 which is its own top speed.

>not using a zombie fleet on a salvage only run

underworld.
If you give them enough shit it unlocks their bullshit arsenal. its kind of worth it if you have money comming out of your ass

If you're at 13 burn, sustained, that's slow as fuck

13 burn is very slow, you should be at least 17 at sustained.

Lost two cruisers but got this. Hell yeah

Attached: screenshot021.png (1920x1080, 947K)

Unsustained.

tldr version the game doesnt have any way to run faster than 2x and warp space is shit. Got it.

>all mod pages are down

Who the fuck are these Blade Breakers? And I thought Remnants were trouble.

dassault remnants

i've got them with a graviton beam, 2 ion cannons on the flanks, a burst pd laser in the middle, and 2 harpoon mrms, with augmented drive fields and auxiliary thrusters - 11 vents, 0 caps

main thing here, for me, is the graviton beam and the drive field
i deploy them to the left and right to quickly cap points and begin harassing targets that i think will be able to flee, or targets that i especially want dead. the beam lets them do that from longer range with less risk of getting rekt while my heavies move up, while maintaining constant pressure on their targets' shields to keep them from using the +50% 0 flux speed bonus so that my main battlegroup can catch up

i also use condors with thunder heavy interceptors for the same purpose - fast, long range flux disruption

but my fleet is designed to be able to select its engagements, with 12 burn, the go-dark buff, and the transverse jump, and i'm typically hunting down traders or weaker fleets rather than heading into big brawls where things might be evenly matched, so my entire fleet is built around the premise that the enemy will generally end up fleeing, so i've got a bunch of safety-overriden pirate falcons hurling themselves in at top speed with face-melting weaponry to rack up as many kills as possible before any ships are able to retreat

if you're wanting wolves that hold their own and do real damage, i got fuck all for ya
maybe salamanders and 3 ions for control? lots of pd and annihilators to function as escorts and swarm enemies with missiles to foil their pd against heavier warheads? all depends on your fleet composition and overall strategy

I installed the Diable mod, do I need to start a new game for those ships to appear for sale or do I just hop from sector to sector looking for them

Attached: EBcDY9oXYAEYXqC.jpg (2000x1123, 654K)

Hey attention to anyone that still doesn't know how to buy ships since i was a good 30 hours into the game without knowing, you go into the buy screen, you press F and then you press 2.

Fucking hell that button is tiny I only saw it on accident while trying to scroll up

don't those have even less ammo?

All faction mods require new game. Do it, Diable ships are dope af, specially the ligh cruiser.

Part of the Dassault-Mikoyan Engineering mod. If you have Nexerelin you can choose Blade Breakers deserter start

The former. Your game will crash if you try to add faction mods into a save like that.

how to defeat bounties that have:
>3-5 onslaughts
>3-5 dooms
?
thanks

How do I make a good fleet? I can make some ships with my colony, but don't know which ones to make.

Carrier spam

Grav/tac builds are the only thing Wolves are capable of once cruisers start showing up and even then they are very weak just like all other frigates in general. Once you get into that late-game frigates just get out-ranged and their shields get quickly overwhelmed and they blow up immediately.

Personally I replace my frigates with Omens as soon as possible, they hold their weight well into the late game as escort frigates thanks to their maneuverability and amazing shields so they don't get blown the fuck out as soon as something looks at them, and their special EMP ability is one of the best point-defense weapons in the game along with shutting down larger ships, best frigate in the game. Pretty much the only frigate that's capable of not dying in the hands of the AI in my experience.

Attached: zapped.webm (960x540, 2.94M)

Strong frontline, fighter screen with bombers and interceptors, lots of missiles like pilums for pressure and cyclone reapers for barrages to put damage on the shields.

Omens are amazing escort ships and Tempests are amazing lategame skirmisher/assault frigates. Give them a phase lance, and an anti armor energy weapon + salamander and watch them make short work of anything that isn't a destroyer.

New game.

Diable have two new star systems they inhabit which sell all their goodies.

which star systems is it so I know which to make a beeline for

I'm sure everyone else has an IQ above room temperature and figured it out sooner than you.

god the AI is so fucking retarded

Tempests are great too because of the drone and their speed but still, they have a very narrow shield and the AI is way too confident in them. They're best reserved for chases but the upkeep cost of keeping them around just doesn't feel worthwhile.

Odyssey > REST

Are we ranking shittiness?

how much money is good money

Love the art but I wish it wasnt so fucking tiny

Attached: 145125.png (474x300, 269K)

Does this game let me spam drones?

Do you just mean tiny ships that swarm larger ships or do you mean autonomous tiny ships that swarm larger ships? Because the answer is yes to both and they are very strong.

Attached: file.png (149x325, 22K)

On the right side, 2 pretty isolated systems. One is Outer Terminus, other is 99ES

86 RN as well

what's a tug?

what's the difference between normal and easy

normal is easy
easy is literal baby mode

do you deal more damage and take less on ez mode? or does the AI become dumb?

Why can ships regenerate strikecraft but not missiles except for pilum lrm?

Attached: eventide_wallpaperB.jpg (2560x1600, 481K)

you take like 50% less damage and deal more and everything is cheaper and you probably can't even die and so on

The tool tips already tell you the effects.

because fighters used to be limited and they sucked big time

It tells your when you mouse over it. Its like25% something (damage or or difficulty) 50% better salvage.
Just play normal.

purely for gameplay reasons, otherwise you would have to make all missiles on par with pilums which would make all missiles pretty worthless

ok. i suck at this game more than i thought.

can someone please post an onslaught loadout?

When?

Attached: planetkiller.png (80x80, 14K)

>making up shit

Looks fine to me

>Inb4 no volatiles

Attached: V class.png (2560x1440, 2.95M)

sorry I don't play on easy mode, you can probably tell in more detail then

Fighters come from hangers inside the ship. Missiles are mounted on hardpoints outside it. Unless you expect crew to walk outside carrying huge ass missiles while the ship does evasive manouvers and gets shot at its not getting restocked during a fight. For lore reasons just think pilums and salamanders have torpedo hatches, or the rocket blast from other faster missles would damage the ship if internal.

Is industry even worth taking, I went tech since I don't want to deal with tariffs and now im sitting on 4 points wondering what I want to take

name of the game?

Just imagine what life must have been in the domain, or the sector before the collapse

Attached: freighters.jpg (640x400, 62K)

starsector

youtu.be/acqpulP1hLo

Do you live under a rock?

Industry is very powerful early on for salvage runs but once you get stuff going it kind of becomes pointless.

>do 5 or 6 bounties
>suddenly pirates have armadas of like 30 ships, with like 6 of them being battleships
noice
guess i'm gonna dock and have my commander sell her ass for money

Noob!

Neither do I, but you can literally check it instead of making up shit like a faggot.

youtube.com/watch?v=IMU5RHuPsSw

The one that gives plus extra to rare stuff found is great if you dont want to comb the entire sector for some of the rarer stuff
Also gives more salvage so more supplies after a fight

> Missiles are mounted on hardpoints outside it
you'd think that after millennia in space they would've learnt to replicate submarines

Why is everyone brown?
India cannot into space

that's what I thought, I got a boatload of blueprints from a science station and two cores from chaining salvages together
asides from that, does it have any late game utility

Canonically? The white race has been outbred.
Over time white women stopped breeding with white men for different reasons and as such whites disappeared.

ok. i asked google and found this
google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/starsector/comments/a095wf/what_are_the_differences_between_easy_and_normal/
Your ships take 25% less damage.+50% Salvage+500 units sensor range

so could've you instead of cried about nothing like a faggot

surveys I mean

No, Industry has no late-game utility.

This is the fourth Legion XIV floating around that I've picked up.

Attached: Jre Screenshot 2019.08.05 - 18.54.02.23.png (1920x1080, 1015K)

>mod comes with ship variants that use vanilla weapons
into the trash

is there a skill that reduces fleet supply consumption?

yes

Legions kind of suck

Heavy Blasters and as many Antimatter cannons as you can fit.
Then you either kill an enemy outright with your opening salvo or overload and get left defenseless.
Best tried with safety overrides and unstable injectors for maximum glass cannon.

lol no

>just took down my first pirate orbital base with zero casualties and no Capital ships
>fat 190k gold deposited ontop of that

Attached: 1544374039519.jpg (960x951, 57K)

pirate bases feel like pushovers
i've destroyed several so far and i've yet to even get a cruiser

Hmm. Not sure I can trust the AI with that.

You can't. It's pretty fun to pilot though.

I hope you can move captains to different ships.
Can't have black and brown people piloting the good ones, they have to be put into suicide bomber ships.

How is that even a problem?

Sseth was right, you really do need a speed-up mod to make large ships bearable to use
holy FUCK are they slow

just put on some of this and let the mjolner do their work

youtube.com/watch?v=SRbhLtjOiRc

>mixing

false

Phase Lance versus Pulse Laser on Medusa?

They do, but it's a good kind of suck. They fall short later in the game, but early to mid they're an amazing keystone/breakthrough vessel.

What mod is for that giant hammer ship?
Pic related

never mind just tested it and its the most fucking hilarious thing I've seen

Is this game really as good as this dude makes it out to be? Because I'll buy that shit right now if it is.

Exactly. Haven't any of these fucks ever played EVE online?

domain era probes are great and all, but where do i find bigger domain ships?

as wide as an ocean, as deep as a puddle

No they don't. Get good.

Well, i bought it. Felt like i made a mistake, but im actually having a blast after playing it. Combat in this game is perfect. And other stuff is fun as well.

I can take one out in an afflictor armed with an antimatter blaster. It's not a good ship. Its flux/ shield damage ratios are shit, its dissipation is shit and the only good mounts on it are missiles.

And I can take out an afflictor with a legion, what the fuck is your point?

Okay so I have a 1D conquest now, found it floating around

What is the best way to equip it for all around performance? I keep experimenting with it but can't seem to find a good setup for it, even though it has massive firepower it feels like I barely do damage in most cases

plus it's so painfully slow

I'm still waiting for my key to arrive. Did you buy yours just now?

I can't afford it

portrait is from helmut's pack, not all of the portraits are great but there are a lot of good guys and waifus in there

Any mods that add some variety to the early game?

I want options other than smuggling to Galatia when the game starts.

It's battlecarrier that can get taken out by a frigate, if you can't see a problem with that, I don't know what to tell you.

Get Nexerelin and Vayras Sector
Then randomize the core systems

>Make a high tech fleet
>Pick fights with pirates
>Inevitably lose ships
>One by one my high tech ships are replaced by low tech shit I recovered from them
NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Is this shit good, with all these damages?I'm actually new and dont have many ships

Attached: aaavaavavava.png (987x619, 203K)

Every low tech ship can be taken out by getting behind it as a phase ship, simply because they can get behind it. That doesnt fly in a fleet setting

please send help i want ai cores

Hammerheads are ok for starters.

Several days ago. Actually that same day when Sseth made a video on this game.

You can take out an Onslaught with a frigate, you literally have no argument.

Check your exploration tab and ship log tab to see if you have any domain mother ships locations or domain survey ship locations.
The missions to check out orbital habitats and other stuff are also another easy way to find places you can get AI cores.

Attached: 1534438902242.png (174x238, 46K)

oh my fucking god
I just realized I went exploring for god know how long, surveying atleast 50 planets
and I never checked to see if any of the planets had missions for them

fuck me

You dont get intel while exploring so it doesnt matter, and its RNG based on which planets get missions. I mean you could install a sniffer on a comm device before leaving but it will get found eventually anyway.

The auto equip option usually gives you a solid idea of where to start.

Why do I keep getting bsod from loading a save?

That doesnt sound good. Uninstall the game and reinstall it fresh.

is there a way to see what planets you have stuff in storage on?

no

Ah ok cheers, will just wait it out then.

yes, on your colony section

I could've atleast taken on a bunch of missions before leaving the core systems is what I meant

any tips? do I just need a couple of destroyers?

is this some kind of FTL clone? is it good?

thank you

Is there a new update? Or why is there suddenly a starsector thread?

Fucking idiot.

Reminder

Attached: Base Profile Screenshot 2018.11.18 - 22.28.06.12.png (1920x1080, 1.13M)

It's closer to Space Pirates and Zombies, it's pretty fun.

You only have 120 days per, so not really

Newfags following Sseth swarming the game

Post colonies

Attached: Base Profile Screenshot 2018.11.20 - 03.31.18.54.png (1920x1080, 2.18M)

wow dude

thanks

Its Mountain Blade in space.

I got the easiest variant of the orbital stations that looks like the spiky one and doesn't really do much except spawn a few missiles and fighters. I just ran 5 ships and culled out fighters until there was jackshit for the station to defend itself with towards the end I didn't realise there was a bunch of fighters eating at my Mora who was tanking aggro, so I just flew my Medusa over and shot them off then finished the job.
Fleet main components are below
>Medusa with pulse lasers + dual autocannon for offense and stacked out with PD lasers
>Sunder with armor shred (high intensity + graviton)
>Mora with warthog, dagger khopesh
>Drover with khopesh, broadsword
>Hammer head, that I just autofitted
Also just killed one of the more bigger orbital stations (the big circle with 3 sections) with the help of a merc group and roughly the same group as above (ran a Phase Lance replacement on Medusa). Most of it is just hovering around whilst you build up flux on shields, then when you reach overload status, the station AI typically tends to ceasefire for a while which lets you go in and do damage, especially helpful with Medusa because the teleports are a pretty good failsafe.

WHAT GAME?

What?

I did a Tri mission to find an alpha AI and took it for myself

Whats going to go wrong next

>AI cores
Do Hedge send fleets to inspect? Or is it only for AI administrators?

Whats the best fighters?
Claws?
Xyphos?
Dagger?

They do but at that point I could easily pay them off.
Good thing there's no idealists in this game and everyone is buyable.

>It took him 30 hours when the planet intro screen lists the buttons needed

Outdated version of the game.

nigga, it's a fucking single player game, who cares about balance

Well, yea, I haven't played for a year. Waiting for the next update.

I've been signed on with the Tri-Tachs for a long time, and their money is nice and all, but what exactly are the consequences of breaking the comission agreement?

>It would be okay for the only start in SS to give you infinite money
Your logic is flawless. Reply if you're mad.

If you do it in person? Nothing. Your rep won't drop so low that they'll shoot you on sight anyways.

>Sseth
Just watched the video, that was actually pretty good.

ctrl+f

i'm 100/100 with them relationship wise so you're saying i'm safe?

Completely safe. You'll lose access to their military market but there won't be any retaliation fleet or anything.

His stuff is hilarious, but newfags are still fags for not knowing about starsector before him

Apogee is the best early game ship in the game

That is all

Is the Diablonics mod balanced? What's the verdict on it?

Attached: 1451935065289.png (400x250, 28K)

Its balanced, if anything probably a bit under-powered in relation to the default factions.

They are heavily reliant on missiles and fighters, and dont have any real medium/large mounts to deal damage. They're still strong but you have to use their ships carefully. Its the highest quality mod by far though.

Somewhat weak ships, strong fighters so it balances out.

Their ships and weapons are underwhelming, barring some exceptions like recsons
Their wanzers are fucking tough tho

Because they are hideously fucking the Luddi Prince's low rank, deformed officers, and they don't exist because they are a bunch of ugly ass bitches. Church of Ludd niggas blast, Luddic Path niggas crash.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A GOOD FUCKING SEED? WITH TERRAN MAPS FOR RC8?

how do I deploy my guys on both sides of the enemy ships when I pursue someone

How well does AI handle their ships, or mod faction ships in general?

Double or triple click your frigates

thanks

Mod list affects seeds too.

You weren't signed for shit, you were given a letter of marque to raid their enemies supply lines and legally use their ports. That effectively makes you a privateer, not their navy officer so you terminating the contract isn't some kind of treason but a business decision.

Attached: pepe pirate.jpg (421x440, 33K)

I'm gonna buy the game on Monday. I've already tried it some 2 years ago, couldn't get into it for some reason. Are there any tips experienced anons can give me? Which ships/weapons are good? What should I do in the beginning? And most importantly, isn't it more fun to discover this by myself?

>start producing fuel
>instantly control 31% of all fuel exports

All the mods I've played with work well. The combat AI is solid. Diable ships rely on their fighters a lot and the fighters are fairly good at not suiciding too hard.

Well, usually modders make sure the AI is competent at using their stuff (to some extend at least) so there shouldn't be any issue there.

>Alpha Core from salvaging a debris field
what are the odds

Attached: well then.png (1366x768, 562K)

is there any way to get a police license and bust smugglers?

Just fucking dive in bro. Stop letting others dictate how you should play the game in the guise of giving "tips". Sucks the fun right out. Make mistakes, learn for yourself and avoid these threads. They'll just spoil shit.

>make fuel on two planets in a system
>both with +3 fuel from the item
>everyone jelly and attacks me
So this is what it feels like to be from the middle east

Sparks

>How the FUCK do we fix the conquest?
First you need to document whats wrong with it.
Only then can solutions be formulated.
As it stands I have no idea what you want fixed.

What's the point of using a capital size fuel ship if I can just take 2 smaller ones and be faster with the same fuel capacity?

Less fleet slots wasted on support vessels.

>dont look at stats
>fit it with big energy hungry weapons
>HURRRR WHY AM I NOT WINNING
because you essentially gave a dolphin a clown suit and told it to climb a tree then blamed it for being poor at the task

How strong does your fleet have to be to take out a bounty with 4+ dooms and 2 astrals?

2 smaller ones is alot less fuel than the big 1.

Can you use Marines to disrupt the operation of a Space Station before going to war with it?

Iirc the Sindrian Dictact holds a monopoly on fuel production, so just building a single fuel production building with the core is enough to gain you tons of cash. Problem is, the Sindrians don't like that much.

Attached: harry.jpg (640x400, 153K)

>a bunch of small vessels eventually have more supply demands than a single big freighter while actually having less space total (this is intentional balance)
>can't pack more combat ships into your fleet because you have 10 fucking freighters instead of two Atlases with expanded cargo holds
>augmented drive fields and Ox tugs exist so supply ships being slow isn't even a thing in this game

>trying to steer and be tactical
>not burning straight and an enemy to ram them and deliver point blank annihilation

?the fuck are you saying

Saving fleet slots for when you absolutely, postively need multiple capitals and swarms of carriers to crush pirate doom fleets and remnant hordes.

>Install Nexerelin
>Can no longer start as Wayfarer + Shepherd
Can I enable the vanilla starting loadouts?

>4 dooms
Any frigates or destroyers you bring will die instantly (unless it's an Omen). Your fleet must exclusively use nothing but cruisers and capitals. You'll also want a shit ton of carriers on your own side.

as long as you can deal with the fighters it's fine, astrals are rather weak pinatas once you breach through

Shit, do I sell my corrupted nanoforge if I have just started the game or keep for later

Corrupted forges drop about as often as Gamma cores so if you need the money then sell it.

Is there a story? Like is the ai core sheilded crate thing leading somwhere or that was it.

Hang on to it, there are a couple of abandoned stations around (Corvus for example) where you can chuck loot for free until you get your own colonies up.

There isn't any in-game story (yet)

shepherds are the best escort ship for logistics value I find, they dont actually do much work at killing anything but they provide 5 mining laser PDs, a universal slot for some seeking missiles and a ballistic PD slot on their salvage bonus

Omens are definitely the king of punching above their weight among frigates though

You can be a trade fleet, but you should invest in defence because combat is more fun than running away.

Brain is too small.

the Ox class frigate increases the warp speed of all other ships in the fleet and itself has a base of 8 warp
2 Ox and the warp speed buff skill gives you a slow burn of 20 with every ship at 8 warp base
4 Ox for 6 warp base (the slowest base warp in the game)

>spend time exploring
>pirate bases repopulate
>have to deal with 60 atlas stacks again
I wish I didn't have to play janitor so often

Attached: 1534439001092.png (231x260, 132K)

Yeah no those mining pods don't do anything past small skirmishes against pirates. They only serve as a makeshift carrier for that very important fighter screen harassment until you get proper carriers. Pretty much the first ship I try to acquire is the Condor for this very reason, fighters are so damn important.

It seems like maybe the AI fucked up humanity

>atlas mk.2
Literally free salvage man those things are made of wet paper

>afflictor can solo kill anything by phase-sneaking up on it and dumping 2-4 reaper missiles into their backs
>but only if the player controls it because it doesn't fire the reapers if the AI is controlling it

I can solo almost anything with it, but the AI just won't fire, what the shit.

>want to play
>alex teasing reworked skill trees
aaaaaaaa

Had a hairy moment where I sat overloaded in front of a Kite loaded with reapers, for it to fire them just as I got engines back and dodged.

I'm not sure what triggers the AI to fire missiles, but when that trigger is hit they'll often cut loose with disproportionate barrages (Like a Legion unleashing 9 sabots on a Frigate)

just finished salvaging from a huge invasion, which one of these should I dump?

Attached: Untitled.png (1247x1274, 1.34M)

Yes but it makes it pointless to include any sneaky-reapers in your fleet because the autopilot doesn't fucking use them. I don't get why

I need crew not 5 million double light machine guns clogging up my inventory.

they dont kill the enemy, no
they're a stopgap between the enemy killing an important cruiser or capital ship, their only job is to be a mild annoyance while the big brother they're escorting does the actual killing

and then when you're not in battle they give you a big looting buff at a lot ass logistic cost

All those gay mod ships.

>he doesn't organize his ship tab from largest to smallest
>he doesn't put segregate combat and logistics ships
>he doesn't restrict himself to a single level of technology when choosing ships
You don't have enough autism for this game.

Attached: 1552111392923.jpg (196x200, 11K)

do you think 1 omen and 2 wolves would have done a better job than 5 shepherds at keeping my 2 Atlas Mk IIs alive during this battle?

the only ship of mine to go down was a single shepherd

Attached: storytelling.jpg (614x1159, 466K)

is there a way to keep ships in storage or in a shipyard so you don't have to haul them around?

Abandoned Station

>dock with planet/abandoned station
>press F to open fleet menu
>click on storage tab on top right
>click the Leave button under the ships you don't want to lug around

I dit he first two but not the third. Every tier has some good ships

you can stash them anywhere that has storage, but you have to pay fees to store them at most places

Only reason is you want the limited fleet slot.
So early on smaller fuel/cargo are better, but you eventually have to move to the bigger ones to get more slots freed up.

>try to get the technology cache
>it's guarded by a huge fucking remnant army

Remnants are easy

AI is made to be conservative, it wont do high risk high reward moves.
Which is why a player piloting the ship is worth 10 times that of an AI.
Really it's a great incentive to pilot ships yourself and anybody who doesn't is really giving up a lot of power.

Should you suspend repairs for non combat ships like tankers?

do other people come by and steal your stuff when you're not around?

sure, but don't let them stay at 0% CR for too long, they can end up being destroyed outside of battle

It's not about having an optimized fleet. It's about the flavor/roleplaying (which is all you really have after 200-300 hours wasted in this game)

if you choose to send the alpha core for credits there is also a dice roll to spawn a pirate fleet nearby

Derelicts are easy. Remnants have a lot more flux and combat ability than other ships of equal size and will fuck new players up.

Like I said, they're a stopgap for small time pirate frigates, the mining lasers are literally the weakest weapon in the entire game.

>he doesn't organize his ship tab from largest to smallest
>he doesn't put himself in the first slot
>he doesn't put segregate combat and logistics ships
Improve please.

no

Storage on other factions worlds has a 1% fee based off the total value of what you store a month

Abandoned stations (in the starting system) or your own faction are free. No consequences.

oh god

Attached: java_gIlilttWPT.png (163x144, 33K)

what's a good number of heavy machinery to haul around with you at once so you can easily salvage junk

mining lasers are a point defence module when installed on a ship for a reason, that's what the drones do by default

If you’re running low while getting back to civilized space, sure

Otherwise, there is no real point

What?

30 unless you want to survey places, 100 if you're intending to survey a lot, 130 if you plan on settling a planet if you find a good one

it seems like i've triggered some ocd's around here

Attached: 1555965880432.png (659x609, 153K)

100 unless you’re planning on surveying ice giants

It will cover all needs for derelicts

You get a bonus to debris fields and combat salvage based on your crew count so heavy machinery isn't as important lategame. The most I carry at this point is like 200 in case I plan on making a colony.

What's your point

In the grim darkness of the far future, there are somehow still söybois

I love it when the game is nice

Attached: 234345435.png (1919x1079, 2.33M)

Mining lasers are the worst point defense in the game. Even massed together they rarely manage to stop more than a couple of Swarmer missiles. They won't save you from Doom mines or Hammer barrages.

The portraids in the base game really leave a lot to be desired from me.
The art style is fine, but fuck, put in some attractive people in as well.
Otherwise I am forced to use mods all the time.
If he is really against white males and attractive males and females than at least give me 10 different Helmet portraids to choose form.
Playing AHMED and the granny tranny is not my thing.
You can keep them there as an option for others but currently I feel my options neglected.

Attached: best boy.jpg (557x529, 110K)

The answer is niggers and sjws

fuck off gamer

Lies. There aren't any more brownies than whites in the portrait selection. The only issue is that they're all ugly as hell bar a few of the females.

There's like 17 white male portraits, what are you on about?

Im fucking retarded ok and i was hoping to help my fellow retards stop bullying me

Im shocked you actually managed to fuck up using a Dominator

>third world ESL faggot talks about white people

>Lies. There aren't any more brownies than whites in the portrait selection. The only issue is that they're all ugly as hell bar a few of the females.
I don't care what there is more off, I care that I have enough options to choose for myself.
If there was 2000 niggers and 100 white male portraits, I would be entirely fine because hopefully I have something out of that 100 to use for myself.
Currently the only good looking ones are the old asian dude, the old white dude and helmet dude.

rise up

basedboys don't count

>umm excuse me but did you JUST refer to your spaceship as """"HER"""""? What do YOU know what gender xe identifies as? ummmmmm y'all i'm sorry but this is just so spaceist i'm going to have to post it on my Twitachyon.

this is your brain on NGO

I don't know what NGO is, fuck off.

I finally found a Doom on the black market after like a decade+ in game. Probably would've been faster to just get my tachyon rep up.

just shut the fuck up and add your own portraits
holy shit

>Just imagine what life must have been in the domain
Not as great as one would imagine, it seems. The flavor text for domain era drones mentions they were regularly deployed against secessionists.

Is it worth it colonizing a gas giant for volatiles so I dont have to import them anymore?

I have, dumbshit.
What I am annoyed is that I have to do that.

>attractive people don't exist
wonderful logic, but does he realize he is as retarded as
>only attractive people exist
He wants to put some more uggos into game, fine, but fucking give me options on something good.
As I said for me currently the base game contains 3 choices, old asian dude, old white dude and helmet dude.
I wish to have more than 3 options for me in the base game.
More so when you will be running into your own portraid being used by somebody else in the game.

your brain is literally filled with semen

Depends on how shitty the world is. Generally no its not worth it, you can find volatiles on good worlds which are less than 150% hazard and have other resources on them.

>i'm annoyed that the game doesn't satisfy my picky needs that like, 2 other people care about in the entire starsector community, and those 2 people have learnt to modify the game to satisfy that want
grow up

>you are a minority, YOU DON'T MATTER
weren't you people against this kind of shit?

>wtf dont say bad things about muh perfect game, thats illegal!
Go back to whatever shithole you crawled out of.

and now you're just typing drivel

@473620437
you're not a minority, you're just a fucking moron that can't make a simple .png image, put it in a folder, and then add a line of code to a .txt file

Attached: 1468632074804.jpg (268x284, 8K)

Apparently I have spent 6 in game years doing very little of note. Is it time to actually try making a colony? I have multiple ai cores of each type and multiple pristine nanoforges.

Attached: 1558310808213.jpg (1000x530, 88K)

do you have >2mil?

Setting up a colony with that kind of equipment available isn't exactly going to be exciting either.

The Onslaught is such a good ship bros, I want her to crush me under the weight of her interlocking sections of armor.

Attached: HegemonyABest.jpg (2304x2814, 2.2M)

how to build a comm relay in a system with no spots to build stuff

You don't.

Do i accept a commission with the space jews?

Onslaught is a SLUT that doesn't cover her BACK which allows phase ships to FUCK HER IN THE ASS

Is there any good way to search research stations? I need a pristine nanoforge and blueprints

>>i'm annoyed that the game doesn't satisfy my picky needs that like, 2 other people care about in the entire starsector community,
>you are a minority, you don't matter

>but you aren't a minority because I am uncomfortable with the fact that I think minorities should be discriminated against

Must be hard to have conflicting thoughts and ideologies in your head.

But my point still stands, I am not asking them to remove any portraids, I am asking them to give people like me more options.

What can you solo when you're actually good at this game with for example no safety lasher? I've managed to 1v1 a mule with it on sim but that's it
Also how u get more missions so you can optimize your surveying route?

>doesn't cover her butt
>has multiple rear facing turrets that persuade most ships to fuck right off.

If you are flying her with out at least 2 supporting destroyers, you're doing it wrong.

@473621046
ok user, your plight is on the same level as countless other peoples that have suffered for centuries, you are truly the most oppressed and despised minority of all history
>I am asking them to give people like me more options.
your request is as low priority as low priority requests can be, considering all the other things this videogame needs

Attached: laughing tears tiger.jpg (393x390, 39K)

>onslaught literally needs 2 friends to keep her from slutting around and cheating on her admiral
what a fucking whore, by ludd
meanwhile, true best girl, Paragon, has 360º shield protection that can even be enhanced, all just to be faithful to her admiral

Depends on the enemy ship, depends on your combat skills, depends on your loadout, depends...

Wow did a minority fuck your mother or something? Such retarded racism

Now, don't let this distract from that bitch called Sunder. She can dish out so much punishment but can barely take a single hit back, the whiny bitch.

Attached: 1564855085873m.jpg (497x1024, 75K)

It is easy to mod in portraits though, just find a good pack and put them in.

is there an up-to-date guide on what guns go on what ship? I was having fun with this game up until frigates were the biggest ships on the board but now I feel overwhelmed. I have the money to buy the big boys but don't know how to use them.

We need more art like this for all of the cap ships.

Attached: Remove SD.png (720x1139, 404K)

shoo shoo nazi, the internet is no longer a place for you

>get ambushed by a medium pirate fleet with 2 colossi and a bunch of destroyers/marauders, 17 ships total
>I have 5 frigates and a bunch of Buffalos/Rigs/Phaetons
>win
Tempest is fair and balanced.

Makes sense, so let's say what was the most dangerous fleet you've managed to defeat with worse ships and how you did that?
Also do people hack these comm devices to get more intel? From what I've played it looks like you have to be pretty close to specific factions to be able to aquire missions from it, not only in comms range

Don't buy big boys, buy omens/tempests/wolves. 28 frigates + 2 carriers can kill a tier 3 orbital station.

How 2 smuggle? Taxes are killing me

Go dark and sell on the black market

Just trade on the black market, and if cops try to stop you after you leave pull Emergency Burn and fuck off. They don't chase you after you leave the system.

See when prices are low so you can buy shit off and store it, you also can attack transports with resources so planet gets shortage and buys shit for higher prices

>thread devolves into racial idpol shit again
I JUST WANT TO BLOW UP SPACESHIPS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Attached: 1562838627547.png (632x413, 185K)

>so let's say what was the most dangerous fleet you've managed to defeat with worse ships and how you did that?
Here is an old vid where I had to fight a bigger fleet than I would normally willingly take on as I try to only take on battles where I know I wont suffer losses.
youtu.be/Eosy1ugmiBQ
But in general player skill. Player decision making.
A player controlled ship in a fleet is about 10 times more powerful simply because a human player can take risk when there is an opening, use ships to their fullest with good control. Knowing the limits and so on.
So a lot of experience to know what is best and what you can get away with. Also practice in sim.

I can also give you some comparisons on just how different the AI and a player controlled ship is in mid/late game if you want.

here, just for people like you youtube.com/watch?v=PdeGi_VYwzs

in order to become a safe long-time smuggler you have to avoid suspicion, you do that by trading on the black market without your transponder on
getting to a planet without it on can be tricky, use going dark or wait for patrols to fuck off

best thing to smuggle that I've found is the space heroin, you can get it for ~170-150 in the best places, then sell it to pirates who pay up to 400, sometimes you have to wait for the price to go up, that's another reason for not wanting suspicion, so you can carry your illegal stuff around for a long period of time

in case you don't know, press F1 on a product while in the shop, it will tell you where you can buy/sell it for the best price, but keep in mind those prices change!

I wonder how big onslaughts tits are

Opinions on Buffalo (A) version?

Attached: 1483387307584.png (500x500, 178K)

Look around for patrols, dodge them and turn your transponder off, make course for the market and buy the shit. Get out of system before they realise you turned your transponder off.

Damn i see you wreck their fleet with one of those phasing ships
Gonna try to do some basic manuevers like hammer and anvil when i get to bigger battles to see what happens

That's a very long way to say "just abuse phasing ships".

Good but slow, if you can get the +2 burn module it is at the perfect speed

is it worth surveying planets without a quest? what am I looking for in a colony world?

dont say shit about my ship fu you faggot

Attached: Clipboard03.jpg (1920x1080, 261K)

>is it worth surveying planets without a quest?
Yes, as long as you have the supplies. You can find ruins, and they can have things that are worth millions of credits.

Because that's the accurate way to explain things, "abuse phase ships" reduces all the complexities of the game to a retarded belief that as long as you are using a phase ship you are going to win no matter what.

>as long as you are using a phase ship you are going to win
This is true though. You only need to know how to pilot your phase ship, you don't need to understand how other ships and weapons work. The AI is utterly helpless against phasing.

Are salvage rigs even worth it
The bonuses seem minimal compared to how slow they are

Depends on how often you salvage.
Getting 1 is good, but multiple ones are a no no.
Also the bigger your fleet and bigger your battles, the more having 1 salvage rig around make sense. If you are 1-4 ships and fighting scraps then there isn't much to salvage to begin with.

is there a way for your planets to put in buy orders for things not on the supply and demand list?

>tfw just learned that there are unexplored ruins on fully surveyed planets in the core worlds area

making money never been easier

wait what

look for fully surveyed uninhabited planets and you can find them easily

RUN FUCKING RUN THE [REDACTED] WILL C-

Sell it on the black market

OH FUCK THE GOT A

Can colonies from one star system bring food to my colonies from other systems?

Are onslaughts worth restoring?

Yes.

Colonies in different systems can supply goods to each other if you have a shortage.

Colonies in the same system cannot, instead you get a 50% reduction in all resource costs for any resource colony A needs which colony B supplies. This is a pretty huge discount so if you find a system with resources on multiple planets you can have a really big profit margin.

kek

thanks

You had a point but you could have demonstrated with a different type of ship, you know one of the many that aren't invulnerable.

do i have to survey planets if they are barren/irradiated? or are they always full if shit?
should i just pop into a system look at the planets names until i find a terran world?

what skills should i get first?

salvage

yes

no to salvage rigs

shell out for 3-5 shepherds, you get 100 cargo capacity 40 fuel capacity and a mediocre PD escort from each one
the only reason to not run 3-5 shepherds in any fleet is if you can afford to throw away supplies on an ultra high end late game fleet that does all the same things but more specialized (with a higher fuel/supply overhead)

they're not good at any one thing, they're just good enough all round

>luddic church attacks
>9 legions in their fleet
What the fuck?

Do y'all think they'll ever add in multiplayer?

Not as long as phase ships exist.

Read the descriptions of the inhabited planets. Most of them, even Terran worlds, have only hundreds of thousands of people or a few million people each. The most populated planet only has 100 million people. There are probably less than a billion people in the entire sector, thats a incredibly small industrial base. Most ships are recovered wreaks held together with duct tape and hope, that can barely make it to the next system without breaking down from skimming the edge of a hyperspace storm. Oh and everyone wants to kill you for your vulcan cannons and 5D mudskipper and every faction is at war with a new enemy every other month. Makes sense that no one except for rare yuge scavenger fleets and suicidal players venture out of the core worlds.

youtube.com/watch?v=BWno9UISZaU

It's come a way

2 shepherds is enough, rigs are more efficient with the salvage gantry, there are better cargo ships and other combat ships would give you a more varied arsenal.

no

There is a missile cruiser with a onboard nanoforge that regenerates missiles but it eats up a lot of flux. Also I think its locked to Hegemony only.

How do I even get new ships in this? I'm just sort of flying between bars. I can't really see what else I can do.

Ignore the roodypoos, you’re doing gods work.
I really enjoy Wavering Heart if you’re still taking requests.

being invurnable will do you jack shit when the rest of your fleet gets killed off and you run out of combat readiness and ammo.

The gryphon is fucking great

the rig is only better later on man, 2 rigs a colossus and 2 monitors is obviously better for 5 fleet slots but it's also 150k vs 60k credits

generally the point when you want to sell shepherds and pick up specialized equipment is the point where you're also focused on lowering your maintenance/fuel overhead because running big fuck off ships is damn expensive, the point where you actually do so is when you have your colonies established enough you dont need to helicopter parent them

good thing the Doom excels at killing everything short of a capital ship and never runs out of ammo

the combat readiness has made me retreat it a couple times and jump over to commanding a second ship in my fleet a few times though, all of those times the enemy had numerous capitals or a double armada though so it's generally not an issue
and I still won

F button to buy ships
>The enemies melted because of my tactics not my overpowered ship
Try to pilot a challenging ship next time.
You can get a rig for 18,000 credits, I would rather buy it and have money for something else than buy another 4 shepherds.

Salvage randomly drifting ships, there are usually some after the fight between third parties resolves. Some D-mods are fine.
Or you can buy them on any planet, switch to fleet tab while docked and press buy. Black market generally has better ships.
Lastly you can build ships at your own colonies, but that's mid-late game thing.

Here's a trick for anyone wondering about this still:
>transverse jump onto the planet you wish to colonize and do it
>transverse jump right back out
>wait a few years until you've remotely built the orbital station up to max rank high tech
>transverse jump back onto the planet and fight alongside the station until every remnant fleet is dead, then destroy their station if you're able or just patrol the system until you can build high command to do it for you
Colonized an amazing terran world with a remnant super station in orbit of it using this technique, cleared the system a few years later using just that battlestation and my paltry fleet of cruisers.

>good thing the Doom excels at killing everything short of a capital ship and never runs out of ammo
>captial phase ship excells at killing everything short of capital ships
wow really, next you tell me onslaught is overpowered because it can kill lashers.

>the combat readiness has made me retreat it a couple times and jump over to commanding a second ship in my fleet a few times though
So you literally have to use mutliple ships because of the weakness of the ship, hmmmm...

>Try to pilot a challenging ship next time.
Such as? A buffalo?

...

How to actually make money, im just pouncing on supply fleets in hyperspace and selling off their shit

Make a colony

fight the pirates, salvage their fleets, get mad amounts of mone.

Not enough, I heard you need 2 mil minimum for a colony and im just on 100k

I made a colony with like 300k to my name. Worked out just fine in the end.

in theory you can do it with 100k, but you need to be very careful with your starting industry. You might also be forced to make the colony a free port as well.

What should I mount on the Large Ballistics for the Onslaught? Focus for range?

>Put two Hammer Torps on a Hyperion

NOTHING PERSONNEL LUDDITE

the weakness of the ship is that it cant scratch the paint on enemy capital ships

the strength of the ship is that it will solo an entire fleet so long as they're not capitals and will carry it's own fleet to destroy enemy capitals
the ship is overpowered because the opponent will not win when the odds are in their favor, which is the only time the CR enters into it and even then it doesn't affect the outcome

also the Doom isnt a capital, it's a Cruiser

Pilums and related literally say in their description that they have dedicated reloading devices

>hammer
>not reaper
Do you hate actually killing ships or something?

I don't use shields, vent often midcombat to use TPC's
Its a fucking monster capable of taking multiple capital shits on his own.
I am not sure about the turret gyros tho, picked them for better PD but could be useless.
Annihilators + extended missile racks = never ending rocket war of attrition

how do I find higher danger level beacons?
all I see is fucking low filled with nothing

the same way you found the other beacons? by exploring?

tfw i usually find an efficiency overhaul often every game. Cant find one for the life of me this time around!

is it really good? what do you out it on?

>start game
>do 6 or 7 bounties, all had shitty fleets
>suddenly every fucking bounty under the sun has 6 battleships AT BEST, followed by a plethora of cruisers, destroyers and frigates
what the fuck

tankers, freighters, whatever ships that don't go into combat.

Storm Needler is just a direct upgrade of the mark IX Autocannon, right? Or am I missing something?

it's heavier???

One thing other people didn't tell you is that part of it is the AI Wars. A lot of other planets outside of Core used to be inhabited, but the AI Wars saw most of them destroyed/destabilized. Some planets are even uninhabitable that once were because of planet killers.

Well yeah as in more ordinance points, but on a giant fucking ship it doesn't matter much does it

>Set battle size to maximum
>Game becomes a flip chart presentation
Is there actually a PC where this game maintains 30fps at all times with mods or is the optimization as bad as it seems?

The Hegemony also has a fuel producing station, but it's a vast second to the Sindrians and I believe lore-wise it's said that its mostly for their military.

werks on my machine.

The scarred up asian chick in default is pretty cute, but she's about the only one.
>There aren't any more brownies than whites
Nah, most of the pictures are dark-skinned or asian, there's only a couple white ones.

>Be everyone's best friend because I did missions for all of them and spread the gamma core love around. Even the Path liked me
>Found my own colony out far away from core
>Now everyone hates me and doesn't want to be my ally, they just want to kill me

>Space would universally represent the demographics of Earth and not the demographics of, you know, the countries with actual space programs that would form the foundation of colonization programs
okay retard

They found an asteroid in system that has enough gold in it to basically tank the entire gold market into the ground. Some pop sci shit said it was was worth $10,000 quadrillion dollars. Several companies are already gearing up for asteroid retrieval and mining.

Becomes worth the cost when you retrieve enough rare metals to basically gain control of an entire market.

I wish your ships would be a bit smarter and try not to get in eachother's line of fire. So much dps lost because THAT ONE FUCKING HAMMERHEAD WONT GET OUT OF THE WAY.

It'll become worth the cost when we have the orbital infrastructure to support it. We need a cheap way to get material into orbit without using fuel, and we need orbital stations for docking/refueling so ships no longer have to suffer through re-entry. Eventually, even the ships themselves will be assembled in space.

With how much raw material and manpower is needed to do anything interplanetary, it's pretty obvious the only way we're going to be able to get to that point reliably is through some form of socialism where we are all contributing towards the project.

Sure user, the most oppressive and corrupt system in the history of man, that wastes the most money and always leads to starvation and death, will totally lead to people getting out into space where the oppressive government can no longer completely control them. Sure.

Is there a way to get rid of (D) parts?

should I be autistically fitting every one of my ships or just autofitting like i'm doing? also what do I do with the weapons I salvage? should I store them or just sell/not even pick up

>have a few swarms of frigates around
>they just pester enemy cruisers and don't do shit
>manually order a group of 5 to kill their cruiser
>they all upload their double phase lances and instantly oneshot it
Guess that command points skill isn't a meme after all.

>Step 1: Throw money at useless people.
>Step 2: ???
>Step 3: Interplanetary industries!
Be a dear and please elaborate on step 2.

hit restore on the refit screen.
hint: it costs more than a new ship

You do realize that in every single space-capable capitalistic country we have right now space agencies are government funded, right? Ever wondered why?

How do i know which ships are good or bad?

what do you guys use for cargo? I have a bunch of hegemony buffalos
they are pretty nice since their non-civilian hull doesn't increase maintenance when you put on expanded cargo holds

You can manually instal militarized subsistems on any other Buffalo type and then put expanded holds for no extra cost as well. Too bad mil systems + safety overrides doesn't work.

How do you reduce suspicion?

tarsus
gotta go fast

Buffalo early on, then Colossi stacking later. All of my runs are themed runs though, so if there's a faction specific cargo hauler I'll use that instead.

That was fixed, it works now. Most ships don't have the OP to run it though, and the situation where you'll need it should be rare enough that just running another logistics hullmod will be better.

Buy something on the open market as well. Better to just go dark before docking or be ready to hit emergency burn. If the patrols can't catch you before you leave the system, they won't chase.

>have 3kk credits
>can't buy anything without grinding reputation
Epic.

Ever wonder why socialism always collapses into starvation and death?

Is it better to go efficiency mod+expanded holds or mili+expanded holds?

>Accepted food procurement contract at Derinkuyu
>Food is on sale there for 19 credits a unit
>Lets just buy the food now and not bother with a return journey
Dumb pirates just ripped themselves off

>kill some pirates for an hour in a sector owned by a faction
>can now buy everything

Wow real hard.

geminis. they dont have civ hulls so that saves some points, and they have a bay in case they end up being deployed.
i want something bigger though.

Is it even possible to find a gas giant with under 200% hazard? I want to make a fuel colony and crash the galactic market.

Redpill me on this game. Can you name something else it compares to?

Experience

redpill me on DynaSector

Freelancer+Star Control+Jets n Guns

It's great. Militarized Subsystems is pretty much mandatory, and since it's built in on the (A) variant you can add Expanded Cargo and still fit another Logistics mod on it.

Anything over 150% isn't worth surveying unless it's marked as Habitable. If it's cheap to scan you might as well do it anyway even if the planet doesn't look valuable. Gas giants are always expensive and never have anything useful so there's no reason to bother with them.

no expert but I'd say the mili
if you have a civilian hull both expanded holds and auxiliary fuel tanks increase your maintenance, not sure how they stack tho
either way, efficieny overhaul gives you a minus 20% on fuel and maintenance, but if you don't have mili your cargo holds increase maintenance by 50%, fuel tanks do that too

Mount and blade in space

which mod makes my game not struggle to run an cap at 20fps :^)

>Anything over 150% isn't worth surveying unless it's marked as Habitable.
Don't be retarded, plenty of volcanic planets are rank IV or even V thanks to all the minerals, they're always worth scanning. It's the barren worlds and irradiated worlds and gas giants you ignore, I've never gotten one above rank III. Frozen/cryovolcanic/bombarded etc. are iffy, they're usually not worth it but sometimes you'll get a IV or rarely a V so I always check.
