Wait why can’t I buy it? Earlier today it said the sale had 20 something hours left

Just pirate it

It's abandonware sparky. Pirate it

Why CAN’T I BUY IT? Steam said I had 24 hours.

>Physical game breaks
>Fucked
>Digital game gets removed
>Free to make as many back ups as you want. Or just pirate

What's the problem? If a game at store shelves slowly stop selling that game they remove it off the shelves. How is it any different than a digital copy stopped being sold? Besides, you can still pirate it for digital preservation.

Also, if you already bought it it's still locked into your account dumbass.

Attached: 1530974462929.jpg (1189x1678, 238K)

Isn't it still available for download for everyone who bought it?

Dude. Why hasn't anyone figured this out yet? This has been going on for years already. A games license expires so the publishing rights now longer is able to keep the game at the store. But the game is still kept on your account. This is nothing new.

That post reeks of iq 60

You're right. But incoming butthurt retards who can't wrap their mind around this post.

Then why are people going apeshit and acting like people who own it are somehow getting screwed?

Because they're retarded. I've had Steam for years this is nothing new. You get to keep your copy. They cannot remove it from your Steam account.

It's a pretty great game either way but I don't really care. I have it stored because these people can't be trusted to preserve anything.

Me, regarding digital games:
>Eh there's no rush in buying it. Digital games aren't going anywhere.

MFW it's actually going somewhere.

Sorry but the underage are asleep, every adult understands you can make digital backups of physical games.

What youre referring to is a digital license, not a digital copy.

This has nothing to do with digital, you dumbfucks. If a game loses its licensing, it will go out of physical print, too. You don't lose the game if you bought it, you just can't buy it anymore.

I agree, but what do you do if lawyerniggers do their hardest to remove every trace of a game?
Sure something like Dr. Dickbutt's Dick Inspection won't matter, but I'd worry about Disney trying to strike down rutracker or piratebay.
I'm not arguing against you, I'm wondering what the contingency for that should be?

They are not removing it from librarys you fucktard just store fronts

Forget old Ducktales.
Give me a game based on the reboot and then reboot Darkwing Duck and also make a game out of it.
And a sequel.

There's too much faggotry and buzzwords in your diet.

No one would play it faggot.

False, re-downloaded SP on my Ps3 the other day. Game sucks too

if you bought the game you can still download and play it
if a game is removed from physical stores you cant buy it
how is this different

Yeah but it's not like that for every console and it's not quite easy to do.

Ignoring the obvious bait for a moment: was the game any good?

imagine paying for permission to execute a series of 1s and 0s on your digital computer lmfao
digitalcucks are the saddest faggots

Yes it is. If you buy something on a Sony, Microsoft or Nintendork store, it wont disappear from your account after it gets removed from the store.

If its not always-online (which i cant imagine a duck tales game is), being pulled from markets is irrelevant.

Obviously it's not like that for the Wii because the whole store is fucking gone. That's the real worry.

Not a delisting. I have my copy of Super Mario RPG on Super Nintendo I'm not going to fucking rage that Best Buy doesnt sell it anymore.

>buy digital game
>they can enter your pc and delete it forever
Great huh?

I don't care, I have my physical copy For the Wii U.

>I agree, but what do you do if lawyerniggers do their hardest to remove every trace of a game?
thats literally impossible though lmao someone will always have a copy to upload

Digital games can just be taken away!
*disc decays*
That's proof that they're shit!!!
*cartridge save battery dies*
Why would you ever buy digital?!?!?!?
*game gets lost, stolen or destroyed*
I love physical games!!!
*pays more than 20 bucks for a computer game*

Wasn't there a game that was removed from everyone's Steam account though? It's pretty much an exception but it still happened at one point.

So is there any way to download this game (cd key site or something) or am I shit out of luck?

Physical console versions or just pirate it.

Remember when Marvel Heroes got pulled. Remember that shit with MvC2 and other games with marvel IPs not getting renewed by disney and so getting pulled?

If that shit has the mouses logo, don't expect it to be digital forever.

Then piracy is the way to go then.

Attached: flat,550x550,075,f.u3.jpg (387x550, 38K)

They can do this, yes, and/or delete the actual data so it's moot either way if you didn't back it up. They've done both these things before, but it's naturally pretty rare to have happen.
Honestly, every store with a client(including GOG if you use the galaxy client instead of standalone installers) can almost certainly do both of these things at anytime. They just usually lack cause.

Marvel heroes got pulled because the game and the company behind it literally died. It wasn't pulling a Deadpool.
Don't forget the mouse dropped the axe on the license because gazillion was such a fucking mess, run by a skeezey sex offender.

Just keep your local copy downloaded
>but what if I lose that copy
Then you're out of luck in the same exact degree as physical owners
>but at least my physical copy is a more monolithic backup
Then burn your digital copy to a physical disc if you want that you idjit
>but what if I'm not an owner now and I want to buy it after it goes down
Then do what physical owners do and buy what remaining copies are left in the wild
>but what if all the copies are redeemed
Then do what would-be physical owners do when all the discs are gone: pirate someone else's digital back-up

It happened with this game. But it was so shit they gave every one a refund when they did it.

Attached: afro-samurai-2-revenge-of-kuma-trilogy-box-art-01-ps4-us-22sept15.jpg (440x440, 57K)

>forgetting inflation

fineleatherjackets.net/monkeyinflation

It's incredibly rare, but it does happen. You almost always get a refund when this happens though

The point was the OP was trying the legitimize his eternal virginity physical game collection

Do you really shape your truth of the world based on the lies you read on this autistic hellhole?

>have physical copy
>disk breaks
>can't get the game that way anymore
>either buy it new or get forced to pirate it if it isn't available for purchase

>have digital copy
>storefront shuts down
>can't download the game from that place anymore
>forced to buy it somewhere else if possible or pirate it

Stop pretending to be retarded.
And if you come with shit like:
>but piracy is illegal
I really would like to see a corporation win a case against a consumer who initially bought the game and only used piracy much later to keep access to it. No company would ever bother to file a lawsuit against you. It's not a clear case and the risk of them losing with the potential consequences for everyone is too big of a risk.

Attached: 1545155872330.png (112x128, 34K)

>it's still locked into your account
it's not. It's gone if you didn't download it. At least in my case, it was removed from my steam account entirely.

>Want to buy game digitally
>Can't

If you're talking about ducktales specifically(and probably other titles but I haven't checked any), and that happened, it's not supposed to and you should contact them. Says in their announcement:
>Once the game is in your library, you’ll still be able to re-download it even after it’s removed, too.

Imagine the Cloud exclusives.

This is one of the reasons I can't trust digital. Digital is far more exposed to volatile intervention. There's already been games that have had removed content from them thanks to publishers having more accessibility through digital means. It leaves any game with specific content be at risk of being removed at the whim of the publisher.

That fact they could remove P.T. or games like Afro samurai 2 () sets an unsettling precedent.

licensed game, doesnt matter
think of 5 delisted games, all of them are licensed

No we dont

does it trigger you, pede?

Realistically, that can happen with physical copies as well, if the game connects for updates, dlc checks, blingclub accounts, etc.
I mean, you still have the copy itself with the deleted content on-disc, but from then on you'll have to deny it access to the internet to play it(which may make it completely unplayable anyway, depending on the game.)

>>Physical game breaks
I don't have this problem because I'm not a retard.

Jesus christ this is why u fucking hate twitter. No one goes into further detail or anything, they just spew their shit, tasteless, and unimportant opinions all over their shit site. The porns alright though. 7/10

No. The game will be removed from libraries of users.

Doesn't ducktales remastered have physical version ? I swore it did

>Realistically, that can happen with physical copies as well, if the game connects for updates, dlc checks, blingclub accounts, etc.
That is true and I'm aware of that. However, in that case you can choose to circumvent it by not going online. At least in the instance of a console, where a mandatory patch might await to change the content. GTAIV SP can be played offline just fine without logging onto XBL or PSN and the game's soundtrack will remain in tact as it were on release. Its only if you desire to play the MP that you'll feel forced to accept the update.

Fucking this. What was even the point of that faggot ass post?

I'll probably keep my files.

How does someone over 10 break a physical game?

That's not true.
Give me your steam name and password and I'll show you where it is.

Just give it another ten years, or hell just go check your old (20+ years) disc based collection again you've probably already got some games that aren't playable anymore that you don't know about.

So is this like what happened to the Transformers games where same asshat lost the rights so nowhere sells the game now?

I mean stores stop carrying physical copies and even destory them sometimes when that happens. So you know in either case the way to preserve gaming history is a bit of yar har har.

>Or just pirate
So why buy it at all? This is the argument I never get, you're arguing about this shit legally and legally pirating is a no-no. If it enters the table then digital should never be paid for at all because it'll eventually get taken down and you can just gt it freely.

>somehow invalidates the argument
imagine being this retarded

>Why would I ever obey the law when I could just break it?
I dunno might have to do with having a sense of morality or something. It's almost like most people will only resort to piracy when they run out of legal options or something.

>So why buy it at all?

So you can encourage publishers and developers to make more better games?? More money means more video games. Why is this a hard concept?

Attached: 1562457793568.jpg (601x625, 73K)

>It's almost like most people will only resort to piracy when they run out of legal options or something.
Still doesn't make it legal. It'll be just as illegal as if you pirated it from the start anyway.

>Why is this a hard concept?
It's not, I understand wanting to support developers, but the end result of digital will always be piracy. You will eventually be forced into it regardless if you have a moral compass or not.

what's even the reason they pull out the game out of digital stores? it's not the first game to get pulled out this year for some reason

>No company would ever bother to file a lawsuit against you.
Please tell me you aren’t an American?

>Still doesn't make it legal. It'll be just as illegal as if you pirated it from the start anyway.
Who said it does? Are you even reading the posts you respond to?

Dunno man, it seems the more money they have the worse the games get.

Yes, I am, the point I'm making is that you'll be resorting to it anyway so there's no point to buying it because no matter what it will be something you need to pirate.

Wait, if you bought it you still can play it, if you didn't buy the copy by now why would you complain about not being able to do it anymore?

License expired

>you'll be resorting to it anyway
Why would that be the case? Use logic. Show me you are actually capable of rational thought.

but it does invalidate all the arguments, no one should listen to mentally ill people.

>Konami deleted PT before I got a PS4
>I can never play it

Attached: 1564979706870.jpg (533x671, 48K)

Age my man, CDs depending on the quality can have a life expectancy of 5 years to 200 years.

that flag invalidates anything you do, it's like putting up a sign on your face saying "I'm a useless degenerate"

>Why would that be the case?
Because unless people keep paying for their licensing rights to things or renewing their contracts with companies like GOG or Steam the game will eventually be taken down. You also have Nintendo's Wii Shop as a precedent for taking games away permanently and delisting everything so you can't even get them legally anymore. Sony's taken down the PSP store from the actual PSP though you can still get it from their website and then transfer it through your PS3 but who knows how long that will last. You also have various games taken off from the store because they've been delisted, so what happens when the company stops supporting systems older than two generations and you have something purchased from them? 3DS runs on roughly the same shop infrastructure that the Wii did so once that's gone there will be no way to legally get a lot of digital games short of piracy. Wii U and Switch are on an actual NNID system for downloads though and they have it properly tied to your account so there's that. I couldn't even get Pokemon 3DS redownloaded on my refurbished 3DS despite downloading it with my NNID because Nintendo couldn't issue a code for it and they had to give me a brand new code for Four Swords.

>literally one game disappears digitally, probably for some rather unique and dumbfuck reason
>it's also a rerelease of fucking DuckTales
>this somehow means that all digital games are more likely to become unplayable compared to physical games (you know, the ones that requires additional downloads)

>you know, the ones that requires additional downloads
You mean the ones that can be ignored entirely outside of like four games?

find me a website where I can buy and download chronicles of riddick assault on dark athena

>one game
Dude this shit has been going on for years now, quite a few games have been purged off for several reasons. Mainly licences running out then the game has to get purged off if they dont renew it.

>Pirate
>Abandonware

Attached: 1377188458953.jpg (321x320, 30K)

Licensed games/games with licensed shit in them are the only time this is ever a problem.

Has nothing to do with being american or not.

>go to court in the US because a company demands compensation from you for pirating a game
>you show them your purchased copy
>and after that watch the publishers lawyer explain the situation to the court and that they still demand big bucks from you

All you need is the judge to agree with you and you got yourself a legal precedent. Now companies will have it much harder to sue people in general which is a risk no publisher is willing to take.

That's why every case will go like
>sir we found out that you pirated our game we demand a fee
>here is a recipe of my legit purchase
>well i guess we won't get anything here

t. brainlet who doesn't realize that the same will someday happen to his favorite game too

lol

Attached: 1564891907970.png (1920x1200, 2.25M)

So you've failed to prove why "you'll be resorting to it anyway" is inevitable or invalidates a prior digital purchase but instead tried to prove that games do get delisted; something that was never in question and not what I asked. As such I can surmise you really don't have anything valuable to add to this conversation, which is what I expected from the start.

Personally I would be pleased as punch if Earthbound had been removed from this earth and never played by anyone ever again.

That is literally the reason why it's an inevitability. How is this not abundantly clear? Digital games aren't forever, at some point a server will shut down, a company will go under, licenses won't renew, contracts won't be redone, and you'll have no way to obtain that game again.
We are also at a point where piracy is only legal if you own the original copy AND your pirated copy is a 1:1 of the exact copy you have and even that's in contention with the courts. If anything you'd be tried for copyright infringement unless you decided to actually throw your money into a very expensive court case to try and set a precedent.

Yes. But that's cause the game was online and the devs shut down the servers. Pretty certain it's the only one that's been removed to date from people's libraries.

>people on Yea Forums in the past rallied against piracy

How do you figure? When a game is removed from an online store do your copies go with it?

>Digital games aren't forever,
And physical games are? I can tell you've never thought too deeply about this as everything you just typed is as applicable to physical as it is to digital. A digital game can be copied to any storage medium you want that storage medium is physical just like a traditional physical copy is.

>When a game is removed from an online store do your copies go with it?
Depends on the storefront. P.T. requires a workaround to redownload but can still technically be redownloaded. Wiiware games you purchased can never be redownloaded again since the entire store is down, same applies to OnLive and Ouya both. Steam also did it to one or two games but those are more exceptions to the rule than anything.
This point is more when it comes down to if a storefront is down, or if a game is taken down before you can purchase it. At some point the former is going to happen with more than just the examples I gave.
>A digital game can be copied to any storage medium you want that storage medium is physical just like a traditional physical copy is.
Except if you're not going with GOG the backup is incredibly limited. For example, some don't even work without calling home to their service (Origin, uPlay, Epic is 50/50 if the games work or not, Steam is all over the place). Chances are you also can't play it offline, and without you downloading a crack (Which is also illegal) you basically have a disk that is pretty much pointless. That's not to say all games are like this, but at least with a physical copy of a retail game you know the game will work, unless you're on PC where virtually everything is just a Steam installer nowadays.

Cope.
And you can do the same with digital games? Cope.
Okay niggers what if you LOSE the physical game?

Glad to know you have never misplaced a game or accidentally broken it ever in your lives. I misplaced my original Pokemon DS games when I was a kid and have been solely digital ever since. It works with Steam and I've never lost a game there.

>Depends on the storefront.
When the storefront closes they don't remove your games from your harddrive and it doesn't magically erase any other backup copies you had.

>Chances are you also can't play it offline, and without you downloading a crack (Which is also illegal)
You have the right to make as many back-up copies as you want of your software and any modifications to that software you want so long as it remains for personal use.

This is an argument for a second-hand market in digital games. I should be able to sell my Steam Key of a game to someone else.

and if you didn't have a backup of the 20 TB of games you own? What then? What if you didn't have them downloaded at all?

That's on you, obviously. It's your duty to make back-ups and store your games. Same with physical it's on you not to lose your copy.

Then again you could just pirate it after the fact then and show your transaction history as proof of ownership. Data is data, if you're worried it might not be the same version just verify the MD5 checksum.

ThePirateBay. Inb4 you pretend that buying a game new from GameStop like five years after the game came out benefits even the PUBLISHER of the game in any way.

inb4 dolphin porn

This sounds like it was written by a brainlet who doesnt know computers.

Okay, this hits me in the feels. At least add the old version as a gift to everyone that buys the new remaster. It's the least they could do.

They pulled that shit with Castle of Illusion. Last chance to buy the game, we're pulling it. Everyone suddenly buys it... fast forward to now, you can still buy it on the store. I mean, yeah, it's possible they sorted out whatever the issue was but still, it feels like a cheap stunt now.

Exactly, show me a store that still sells Super Mario 64.

Just put the songs they patched out into the mp3 folder. Big deal.

The game is fine, but you can finish it in 2 hours or even less if you're really good. Not much of a replay value either.

This is literally no different from a game getting recalled.

if i can no longer buy it does that mean it is free to pirate it

Yes, you're given permission by the devs because you're unable to buy it unless from places where they wouldn't see any money from it anyway.

Relying on piracy (while simultaneously doing everything you can to eliminate piracy) is not a valid strategy for preservation.

>>Digital game gets removed
>>Free to make as many back ups as you want

Only if you bought from GOG. Literally no other digital store enables offline backups.

I can't fucking believe the death of SadPanda didn't teach you niggers to STOP RELYING ON ONLINE SERVICES. Every online service is going to die one day, even Google and Wikipedia, and there's no guarantee there's a good substitute for them.

People shit on G2A all the time but times like these I'm glad it exists.

LIFE IS LIKE A NIIIIGEERS
HERE IN OLD-NIGS
I HATE FUKCING NIIIIGERS

NIGGERS

How the fuck do you think people pirate console games? You know you can rip games right user?

>I love my digital copies
you know you can redownload it on steam, right?
actually, i think you are retarded

I still have PT on my PS4 user, you can buy it from me if you want.

are you a nigger or a kike?

that's not how it works

i can not redownloaded the original gta san andreas i purchased because some jews license agreement ran out and now i get to download a version with less music

that's what i'm wondering
if they haven't bought the game in the 6 years since release, then they obviously don't care about the game
pretty sure it's mostly just contrarian whining since downloadable games is the popular modern choice

oh, was this thread about san andreas?
no, it wasn't
THAT however is one of the very few good examples of when digital goes wrong; but it's still not digital downloading that is to be blamed, it's the music companies

1. Disc rot
2. Uhhhhh what if your house catches on fire
3. And uhhhhh
4.

For me, its nigg tales.

m.soundcloud.com/daigon-fernandezmora/niggerz-bop-ducktales-theme-song

who the fuck says that there wont be another infighting and they take it completely off steam giving you some token in return?

The point is that you dont have to worry about this shit with hard copies while with digital there are too many long term problem no one even thought about

Snark and outrage are the only things that play for Twitter, and you don't need to make a point to express either.

>1. Disc rot
convert disc to iso as digital back up then and keep the drive in a fireproof lockbox?

I don't get it.
If it was physical only it would still be discontinued, if anything they would have stopped printing long before now.
All the people who bought it digitally still have it, it's just taken off stores. In the worst case scenario you can pirate it or get it from a keyseller.

you are mentally ill, retardera

looking at the autistic screeching from gamers over extremely minor things, i just dont see valve or anyone having the balls to do that unless some publisher threatens to sue them or something if they dont
if it actually happens, congratulations, you were right; but it's not very likely
you will most likely always be able to redownload games that get delisted because the backlash would be fucking astronomical

Says the guy who gets triggered over a rainbow flag.

Disc rot is a meme, anyhow. If you're not storing them in a humid basement or direct sunlight, then it's going to be several decades before the discs start to degrade. I have CD-i discs that are still pristine.
It's obvious to everybody that physical discs aren't "eternal," but they're long-lived enough that it doesn't fucking matter. If any video games are worth preserving for hundreds of years, then they will be preserved digitally.
You can still torrent Duck Tales Remastered and would be able to even if it had a strictly digital distribution. If it had been strictly physical, then somebody would've dumped it online.

I don't understand what fucking point either of the retards in OP's image were trying to make or why they pretend to care.

REMEMBER WHEN THIS WAS NEVER COMING BACK TO THE STORE? BECAUSE I DO

NOOOOO BUY IT NOW LAST CHANCE BEFORE IT'S GONE FOREVER WE PUT IT ON SALE BUY BUY BUY

INB4 NEW SCAM TWO WEEKS LATER
GABEN SHOULD HONESTLY PENALIZE CAPCOM FOR THIS

Attached: file.png (679x697, 136K)

Physical copies in a store take up space, digital games do not

inb4 capcom changes their mind because of "community backlash" after conveniently selling a bunch of copies due to this false advertisement.

Proofs?

> havent even launched it
Haha. Classic.

"removed from storefront" = "not available for purchase in our store anymore"

If you bought it, you can download it all you want. Expiring licence only means content can't be sold past that point.
This is why removing music from GTA SA and IV was such dick move. Rockstar didn't have to downgrade already sold digital copies, only new purchases.
>inb4 "how?"
remove game from storefront and put new version as a separate product, like for example Mafia did.

if game was worth shit, there's surely a site with backup of it.

Are you retarded? You do realize that the files for torrents aren't saved on a website right? They can strike down all the websites they want, all somebody needs to do is post a magnet link somewhere.

That's not what "virtue signal" means

>If a game at store shelves slowly stop selling that game they remove it off the shelves. How is it any different than a digital copy stopped being sold?

Except its going because of rights issues. If games not selling anymore was an issue for digital stores, there would be practically nothing left to sell.

Can I seriously not buy it now? I didn’t know about this

1. uuh, disc rot
2. uhhh the house catches on fire
3. someone breaks into your house and steals your collection
4. hitler comes back from the dead and does something?
5. because fuckyou

>>literally one game disappears digitally,

While some people are making too huge a fuss over the game going, this definitely isn't the first time a game got pulled. Even if the game is re-released at a later date, its still a wonky thing to do.

>console tards lose digital games they have brought
Feels good to be a steam chad

physical games go out of production at a mich higher frequency than digital games. I really do not understand the argument.

Some games on Steam have no DRM, which enables you to make backups of them if you so wanted. There should be a list of them around.

So Capcom still has a license to make and sell the game physically, just nor digitally? or are physical fags just retarded.

It was two rooms and some creepy music. It was nothing.

Switch-fag here

I can still get my hands on any physical game. Not so much for digital titles.

Or just be a cartridge-using SwitCHAD.

>physical games go out of production at a mich higher frequency than digital games

Next you're going to tell me is that Physical has more value than Digital

Attached: HUUURRR.jpg (225x224, 11K)

I was actually going to buy the remaster until I saw on the steam page that it replaces the old game. why even do this?

Attached: 1551756653995.jpg (436x536, 51K)

But uh, if you already have it you have it forever....

Plus you can pirate it.

Retard

Because you are all retarded.

Buy a physical copy or pirate.A Steam or other download code is not a physical copy. The only option should be to either pirate or buy a physical copy.
Just having the option to pay for a game digitally has ruined gaming, it allows for what is plaguing the industry today such as rampant DLC and mtx, games being intentionally released unfinished or unplayable without a patch because they can easily patch it through whatever platform which further encourages them to be released that way, being charged for a download, having to go through some console wannabe platform to legally play games on PC, easy access which means more casuals play games which means games are made for them which means lower quality games, etc. Games being sold physical only has already proven itself to be the best environment for great games to be made. Digital distribution should not be paid for, don't care about physical copies? Fine, then you should be exclusively pirating. Even if you exclusively pirate you should want all games to be sold physical only because that has already proven itself to be the best environment for great games to be made and you'll still be able to pirate anyways.
People have been tricked into thinking that because sometimes digital games are lower cost means they are a better deal, even $1 is too much for a download. The standard prices we have for games was based on the fact that games used to be sold physical only and all the logistics, effort, and extra money that comes with that, playable without a patch (at least on console), and DLC and mtx weren’t rampant and didn't even exist for most games. On PC it used to be $50 max for an actual physical copy that was better than today's collector's editions, now they want you to pay for a download.

>le pirate it

What about my steam copy, my friends seeing me playing it, my achievements? That’s gone forever because I can’t ducking buy it. I don’t want a bootleg.

lol check out this fucking consolecuck

Then buy it fucking before it gets removed you fucking faggot. Who cares about that fucking shit

I just like having them easily to download.

there is a finite supply and there will never be more copies. that is why everyone just downloads ROMs and pirates. prices on ebay for somones smoke stained pissed on games are hardly worth it over just torrenting. Devs get 0 money either way.

leaving the store doesn't mean you lose the game cakeboi

At that point you're essentially pirating anyway, so just go digital.

Because it's bait, and/or a joke and/or EGS shills.

If you pay for digital then you are the cancer that is continually degenerating gaming. The only reason the industry isn't even worse than it already is is because it degenerated from games being sold physical only which has already been proven to be the best environment for great games to be made and for better industry practices. If games were never sold physical only then they would be shit and no great games that we have would have ever been made.
Logically, paying for or being charged for digital shouldn't exist, the only options should be either buy a physical copy or pirate. If you pirate you still get your download but without financially rewarding being charged for a download and the many negatives that come with it.
Piratefag = Physicalfag >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dumbfucks >>>>>>>>>>>> Digitalfags.

Attached: thanks digital distribution.png (273x355, 14K)

Paid digital distribution is technological reversion, data has been sent over the internet since the day it was created, hell thats how it works, charging for it on top of having to pay for your internet connection is technological reversion especially when you take into consideration torrents exist now which distribute those 0s and 1s with no server needed and at no cost and physical copies and physical media was created and the widespread acceptance of digital distribution caused development of optical discs, which cannot be beat for archiving, to stop. There were several in development that could hold over 1tb on one disc, if development never stopped we would have discs that can hold 10tb+ on one disc.
>DRM free physical game breaks
>not a problem because i have several backups but without ever having financially rewarded being charged for digital and the many other negatives it comes with
Also isn't a problem because I have never broken a physical copy since I'm not a clumsy sloven.
GOG is just as cancerous, it is still digital distribution and if you give them money you are still financially rewarding the cancer that is being charged for a download and all the negatives it comes with
Don't pay for digital, just pirate if you don't want physical copies.
>morality
It is unethical and immoral to charge for digital
Paying for digital is nothing more than giving a donation to a company and they don't even have the decency to admit it is a donation.
They are a company, not a charity, and should be treated as such. Only give them money if you get a physical copy in return.

Piracy is always more convenient in a fair match up. Updates are a form of anti-piracy. Multi player going through some official server like Steam servers is a form of anti piracy. Games should be released complete and playable without a patch. The devs could always make it so the MP is p2p or people can make their own server without having to go through shitty Steam servers at all. In a fair match up, piracy is always more convenient, the only time piracy isn't more convenient than paying for digital is when the developer intentionally sabotages their game. You should not financially reward them for sabotaging their game. If you really cared about convenience then you wouldn't financially reward them making it less convenient.
Piracy would be even more convenient if it were completely legalized. The video game industry is the single largest abuser of IP law
>being too dumb to pirate

>GOG is just as cancerous
A GOG copy is objectively better for preservation than physical.

Don't fall for the
>if the developers can't charge for digital distribution then they won't make money
lie
Games made plenty of money even when they were sold physical only, not only were they sold physical only they had manuals and on PC were better than today's collector's editions and there was no rampant post purchase monetization such as DLC or mtx, or money savers such as being able to release a patch or update later except on PC but even then it wasn't nearly as bad because they were greatly discouraged because there was no easy access cancer platform like Steam and the worst post purchase content was expansions which still suck but isn't nearly as bad as what we have today. The top 6 most expensive games to make were sold physical only when they were made with the exception of number 1 which also had arcade cabinets.
Digital distribution really ruined gaming.

Nigga I'm not gonna keep 1500 physical copies.
I'll live.

might one to check the Wii eshop lad.

Why would anyone get mad about a digital game getting delisted? It's basically saying "this game is free now". Are they stupid?
