HK is a worse metroidvania due to the low frequency of acquired abilities despite the game being large

Hollow Knight easy.

Better gameplay, better art direction, harder, more memorable, more polished, and an actual original concept.

But those abilities are far more meaningful and better integrated into the game without breaking it or being nearly useless past 1-2 rooms.

I have both and prefer Bloodstained. HK is very comfy though, but BS has way more variety with the gameplay thanks to having actual combos, and a shit ton of useful spells. Better music too.
