Never had a start-up error on the PS1, just the strip that spins the disc snapped.

I thought the tune it played was lamed but I always liked the then-high resolution (480i ish) logo. Too bad almost none of the games were. Ridge Racer port with R4 that had no cars on the road comes to mind.

I have very fond memories of my PSX, especially after I modded it and bought a small collection of NTSCJ CDRs for a few bucks. I think the PlayStation brand is pure shit now and 3D PSX games haven’t aged all that good. But still have fond memories. I liked PlayStation but never cared for Sony. PSP was their last good console
