One of my friends in high school had an idea where you make an FPS that pretends to be a typical Call of Duty game and then after the first mission it's revealed you're actually a German soldier in WW2.

Activism and political unrest in the streets, trying to topple the Weimar Republic and survive while finding allies and fighting back against the ever-spread degeneracy in Germany. Taking back Berlin could be a pretty amazing arc, if done right.

Each character may also have minor goals based on their personality, such as a total number of commendations or medals earned for their military performance, total amount of "Undesirables" saved from the Final Solution", or international friendships or connections made to further peace.

If Germany loses the War due to an enemy army reaching Berlin, Everyone loses
If Germany wins the War but the Fuhrer is still in power, the Players lose
If the players are able to take control and go on to Win the War, the Players win.
In the case where the players had competing political goals, the Player who ends the game with the most powerful position, or with society most in line with their politics wins.

Allies and Axis had an Axis campaign just fine. You start with a victory on greece and from there it starts a butterfly effect and it grants you victories at Africa, England, Russia and the Pacific. It was pretty comfy
