N64 was a miserable pile of shit

Fighting games were shit on the N64
>b-b-but Smash Brothers
Would be a 6/10 on a console with Tekken 3, and that god awful N64 controller was just not fit for fighters.

JRPGs were shit and nearly nonexistent on the N64
>b-b-but Paper Mario
Would be a 7/10 on a console with the FF trilogy, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Breath of Fire 3 and 4, etc. Seriously, the amount of them is massive on PS1

SHMUPS were nonexistent on the N64
>B-b-but... uhm...
AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAH OH MY GOD WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT - ONE OF THE MOST BASIC GENRES THAT EVEN THE SUPER NINTENDO COULD DO

If there's one place the N64 actually crushes it, it's FPSes. PS1 is abysmal when it comes to them. The fact that one of the best FPSes is a bad version of the N64 version of TWINE, then you know you got problems. Hell, FPSes on N64 make Dreamcast FPSes kinda embarrassed, they're that good.

I prefer N64 games because reality doesn't fucking warp and stretch whenever you move the god damn camera

Jesus Christ, that's a 23 year old console. Who cares, Mr. Boomer?

The n64 is the worst console Nintendo has had. The Wii u would be worse if you couldn't hack it and have a good emulator box

still angry about over 20 year old consoles. god damn

Rogue Squadron was fun. OOT was fun. M64 was fun. NBA Hang Time was fun. fifa soccer was fun. NFL Blitz was fun. MK64 was fun. A lot of games were fun. Big success for me, personally.

Die

>full size d-pad with six face buttons
Sounds perfect to me for fighters.

i prefer ps1 games because there were more than five of them.

Bragging about your console's library overflowing with shovelware? Yikes.

>i-if i dismiss every game as shovelware, surely it will make the n64's library look less pathetic!
good thing the n64 didn't have any shovelware. quality over quantity, amirite?

AHEM
youtube.com/watch?v=CAtrkMGNp0o

My thoughts exactly. Hating on the n64 controller is a meme. Only real fault is had is the joystick destroying itself over time.

>quality over quantity
Yes actually that's a pretty apt summary of why the handful of all time classics on N64 are better than a bunch of mediocre games with disgusting texture-warping 3D or hideous pre-rendered backgrounds which aged like absolute dogshit.

squaresoft's ps1 lineup alone runs circles around the entire n64 library.

Figures a JRPG autist would prefer PlayStation

I wish there was an N64 classic. There were only 15-20 good games tops so it's not as if you'd miss out on a lot of gems.

I prefer PS1 because there were games to strech at all.

Hm I think you're confusing the N64 with the PS3

Shit, buy RARE Replay for $13 and you have almost every good N64 game except Mario and Zelda.

>b-b-but Sony

>the exact same thread every day
R E N T F R E E

64 has plenty of good worth while games.

Yeah, the N64 totally has NO GAMES, except for the highest rated game of all time but you know ignoring THAT one (and it's critically acclaimed fan favorite sequel) and also ignoring Mario 64 the game which essentially invented the 3D platforming genre and also Banjo-Kazooie which perfected it, aside from THOSE ones and also a few of the best kart racers ever made (MK and DKR) and also some at the time smash hit FPS games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark which admittedly haven't aged so well, so apart from just those games it basically had nothing. I mean it did have Smash Bros, the first three Mario Parties, Mario Tennis/Golf, if you're into those "party" type of games with the 4-player multiplayer (compared to the PS1's two players) and stuff but ignoring ALL that yeah I guess the N64 had no games. Well except for Star Fox 64, Pokemon Snap, F-Zero X, Blast Corps, Goemon, Mischief Makers, but aside from those too.

what if you're not crazy about JRPGs and you wanna play games with your friends?

those Wrestling games, mario kart/tennis/party, Diddy kong racing, smash, star fox, if you had a bunch of friends over or siblings 64 was a joy to grow up with. I had both be we played 64 WAY more.

I like how everything you list after the first three is absolute trash, and the first three aren't that good either.

It had 10 games. I challenge anyone here to make a list of 10 MUST OWN GAMES for N64 that doesn't share 70% of its content with any other anons to 10 N64 list.

Yeah I like when retards like you brag about having shit taste, always makes me laugh

Nice cope retard, he's right and you know it. Ps1 was for mullet kids.

you forgot

Golden eye, perfect dark, blast corps, gauntlet legends, Conkers bad fur day and jet force gemini

What do you guys think it would have been like if the N64 had a CD-Drive from the get go?

>what if you're not crazy about JRPGs and you wanna play games with your friends?
the ps1 had a bunch of fighting games, point blank, poy poy, team buddies, trap gunner, crash team racing, chocobo racing, twisted metal, etc. only zoomers think the ps1 didn't have multiplayer games.
the difference is that the ps1 also had all the genres that the n64 was missing.

I Agree with that strongly, IMO not having both is torture. You miss out on a good pile of games not having one of them. I think that's why when it comes to which is better, it's so hotly debated. both of them have some of the best and most influential games in their genre.

And of course... Compare it to PS1...

PS1 has so many good fucking games I had to struggle to whittle it down to 200 or so.

Attached: 1521080266749.jpg (600x600, 58K)

N64 had all the best games though. Only Super Nintendo can come close with Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country.

>this thread again
Somebody post the webm with all the sega saturn games. You know the one.

Nice try, but no, listing an entire consoles library doesn't count as providing a list of "good fucking games". I fuck with the Medievil series though

>200
>the entire library

I have news for you.

the PS1 has over 3,000 games

Attached: 1524654542062.jpg (1024x958, 76K)

Nigga, those ARE the good PS1 games.
It may be hard to believe, but yes, the PS1 actually has over a hundred fun, good, almost must play games.
