X5's core gameplay is still fun and solid, it's just weighed down by retarded gimmicks like the shuttle RNG and unskippable Alia.

I think the best use of Axl in a hypothetical X9 would be to have him go Maverick and be the final boss. I don't really hate him, but designing a game for three characters simply doesn't seem that easy, and he'll always be out of place to X and Zero.

FF2 is a fine game plotwise but really rough mechanically, and the remakes barely made it better. Like the idea is fine, SaGa is a great series, FF2 is just really unbalanced. FF13 is a slow boring game for 20 hours before it finally opens up and starts feeling like it's worth playing, but damn those 20 hours suck.

It's a hard call.

The only thing I really hated about 8 was the art style change.
