Anyone know how to tow the sub with the Freighter? I've talked to Ray, but I don't see how to actually do it. There is no right click menu for the sub.

Just beat this game for the first time a couple days ago including the expansion. And I have some complaints. The story is kinda weak with Tchort, no development is really given to it except some conversational clues and some logs.

Also why is there no cutscenes in this game? Fallout 1/2 had them and they really added to the world itself.

Not even any NPC animations when you talk to them like in fallout 1/2. I just think if underrail had these two things and a better more coherent story then it would truly be the fallout 3 that should've been released.

Normally, I play oddity but I was thinking of switching to classic for my expedition playthtough. WIth oddity, there are a ton of little hidden areas that exist solely to give you an oddity. Are these replaced with exp or other items in classic, or do these areas become pointless instead?

He does if you take it in dialog. He's none the wiser if you pickpocket, but he goes apeshit anyway if you talk to him later.

i've seen the Ferryman in Expedition sell greater siphoner leathers quality 60-75 (with 0 mercantile skill)

15% is completely unreliable, 30% is better with the unique helmet but you sacrifice the head slot for that.

Yeah? Fallout 1/2 are more fun to play then underrail, because it has a more developed world and lore, has cutscenes in the beginning and end, and has animations for important NPCs.

Underrail is a fucking RPG, story, atmosphere and themes are kinda a big deal.


Also the game's not that fun, combat is ok and works well, but it isn't that much better than fallout 1/2 that I could say that it justifies being lax on everything else that is important to an RPG.

When I say unique animations for NPCs, I mean like when you are talking to them their faces are animated, really is an amazing feature to the first 2 fallout games.

I'm just saying it would've been really nice to have just 2 cut scenes like in fallout 1/2 and have NPCs faces be animated when they talk to you in dialogue boxes.

So someone yesterday was talking about how siding with pirates over aegis is objectively better in every single way, how true is it.
Since we can't replenish supplies for Aegis, it seems dumb to play the camp management game, and unlike the pirates, aegis doesn't have any unique quests, they don't give you unique feats like the pirates do, plus the Ferryman doesn't even dock there.

Fallout 1/2 came out literally 20 years ago. And interplay wasn't THAT big, considering they went bankrupt soon after. It was still a relatively small dev team.

Fallout 1/2 only have a cutscene in the beginning to set up the world, and then one when you end, both amount to like 3 minutes tops. When a game 20 years later can't even do that we got problems.

I can fill in the gaps just fine, but the gaps that are filled in aren't very good to begin with. The main quest doesn't really have direction, it never picks up like when you get the water chip in fallout 1.

Go read a book or watch a movie, I remember skipping all the cut scenes from fallout because the story wasn't that interesting. The game play was the fun point of fallout for me just like underrail.

Fallout 1 had a 3 MILLION dollar budget in 1997 dollars.

We had a discussion about Underrail's narrative capabilities a thread or so ago. Original Fallouts have top of the line sprite animations, voice acting and bobblehead animation that still hold up, even with low res.

I actually suggested that it would add much to Underrail's atmosphere if there were zooms at the face of the person you were talking to, like in original FO games. But now you're spending time on animation, and that's not the easiest thing to do. For example, Underrail has pretty well-written dialogue, good quest design and fantastic environment design (I find Underrail's dungeons much better than anything Black Isle ever did). So I think it makes sense that those couple of touches make it seem not as enticing when compared to Fallouts.

I already beat the game and expedition. A cinematic just explaining the current state of the world just like the OG fallout would've added much needed atmosphere and allow you to place the protagonist in the world itself.

And the big bad being tchort is so boring and lazy, it just dies and literally nothing happens.

Also tyranny is not fallout, and fallout is the only isometric RPG to ever have that style, none of the DnD games had the animation like fallout so that's a moot point.

Once you have every source of Psi cost reduction it quickly becomes more manageable, but yeah, the start is super rough. Dodge and evasion are enormous memes, let alone on psi builds that suffer 25% penalty to them because of the advanced psi headbands.You don't need agility for stealth too, in fact you can leave it at 3 and compensate it with cave hopper tabi to use without a penalty.
Instead of evasion and dodge better invest into mercantile, shit's useful as fuck on a crafter. Or into the Throwing since plasma grenades are ridiculous.

While it's quick and dirty, you don't often get good results using the select area tool for transparency jobs. Use the selection line tool instead and draw a line around the borders, go to the selection menu and invert your selection, and then delete that.

Psychosis' damage output is a ridiculous overkill on anything below Dominating. Even on low levels your telekinetic punches will crit for over a thousand and your cryo orbs will literally murder anything on the point of impact. This damage is so high that it's straight unnecessary while Tranquility is more than capable of wiping out anything with just a pure base damage without suffering HEAVY downsides of psychosis that build will only somehow overcome closer to level 20.

On dominating your enemy has stupid amount of HP which you can never deplete even with chain stuns. The optimal way to deal with them is through an austistically min-maxed psi-crit build, the amount of damage is overkill on hard but necessary for dominating.

Not really. You can't even get off a cast before you get spotted because casting breaks stealth. Stealth helps for choosing when to start a fight, but not much else for psi, I've found.
