Yeah, the first 2 hours are really boring, that's why you need to get the Demolisher npc asap and start having fun with explosives.
Also, with bombs, you can break Shadow orbs so you can trigger a meteorite and you can break it with bombs.

You dont have to build an arena for any boss, you could just fight it normally, but building an arena makes it much easier and means you dont have to worry about movement, so you can just focus on dps. Take Planterra for example. You could build an arena so you can bounce around to dodge it, or you can just get good with grapple hooks and fight it like that. The WoF is actually much more fun if you dont build one long path. Bouncing over the rooftops and floating over lava while firing at it is much more fun

You mean Skeletron? I dont think ive ever built an arena for him. Usually just fight him on top of the dungeon roof. If youre struggling, you just need more versatility with movement. Wings are prefferable, but getting them that early might be hard. Maybe get a double jump and some wall climbing gear. Ive easily done it with just a grappling hook though

Done expert mode lots of times. I mean yeah, some of the ENDGAME bosses are pretty difficult without an arena, but that user said you need an arena for every single boss. at least 70% of them can easily be beaten just by using double jump or a grappling hook. Obviously the endgame bosses are best taken out with an arena, and even then youre not guaranteed to win

I made a cylindrical tower in Minecraft a while back, had 7 floors, the 5th one i removes the walls and laid it with grass and flowers, i found vines hanging from the ceiling work well

I don’t agree with the game being a snooze fest. That being said after 300ish hrs and getting all the achievements I don’t have to urge to pick it up again unless a massive content update happens.

true, I should've been more specific and mentioned that early hardmode is still good since you have a reason to actually explore the world and have tons of different equipment options, as well as access to new mobility in the form of wings. Aside from getting wings and maybe fucking with lunar pillar weapons, nothing in hardmode feels as significant as making progress in pre-hardmode, such as getting hermes boots or a grappling hook. Most of the "new" things you get after Plantera are just weapons and armor with bigger numbers, and at that point there's no reason to go underground unless you want chlorophyte, which you can just make a farm for anyway
