Amiibo Festival is one of those very scarce bad Nintendo games that is so fucking repugnant and cynical that literally nobody unironically defends it. Not even memedog-fuckers can stick up for it.
Color Splash is also more externally hostile to old PM and its fans. Sticker Star is the first of its ilk and mainly faced internal issues culminating from years of Miyamoto's tantrums about MUH FRANCHISE PURITY and made even worse by Tanabe's retardation in game design. But Color Splash was a willful and spiteful rehash of what they knew people widely hated; the producer of CS even told people to fuck off to Mario and Luigi if they didn't like nuPM's direction (which was shitty to hear when M&L was starting to suffer its own issues).

I can't defend it. I was literally the target audience and was actually excited by the trailer. By young cousins love to play Monopoly on consoles for whatever reason and are too young to wrap their heads around Dokapon Kingdom or Fortune Street yet, so I thought this would be the perfect game to play with them. Turns out it wasn't even AC Monopoly, it was AC Candy Land at best
