Bump with Freespace
Some of the quest triggers in this game were a bit elusive
Arx had a really cool world, makes me sad we will never get a sequel. An expedition over the frozen world to find another city would have been awesome
Arx does NOT hold up, its clunky as hell
Part 2 also does I think.
>clunky
You opinion has the worth of a wet fart.
any old game will be better than new ones because they used abstract concepts due to technical limitations
Good texture work and art goes a long way. Something a lot of modern devs that just try to cram as much geometry on the screen as they can seem to have forgot.
Does this game have comfy questan or is it just endless combat-slog?
I played the tutorial 2 weeks ago and dropped it.
still the absolute best xcom(or clone) game in existence.
itt: >hey hey, people
I love Arx, but it absolutely does not hold up today.
Way too janky and poorly designed.
Still the best magic system I've ever seen.
It's really not. I played it the first time a month ago and even wished more games had the same kind of FPS/point-and-click system.
I once ran a D&D campaign in that setting. Sadly one of the players sperged out early on so the game died.
I fucking loved arx but replaying it I really didn't feel the simulationist feel I got all those years ago because the graphics are dated and the models off putting. Didn't help that as time goes on old games just don't handle new hardware at all.
It's an excellent game and you should play it, just not expecting deep immersive graphics.
Gothic 2 still holds up. Shit even 1 holds up I still get chills with the forests.
Now this is a good example.
Bump.
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Best RTS coming through
thief 1, 2 & 3
dont know about thief gold, it has 4 new levels but they are massive and overcomplicated
my nigra. I discovered this game a year ago. one of a kind gem.
oh god master of magic was really nice, i have to play it again sometime
