Support is how much they like you, when you give them gifts or have lunch with them or fight near them on the battlefield it goes up. When it reaches a certain point you can get a cutscene with the character. Check your X menu to see if characters are available for support conversations.

IF I'M WRONG, PELASE, DON'T CORRECT/SPOIL THE STORY FOR ME. And I didn't recruit anyone. So obviously, I want to prepare for that and I want to replace them with different units. My questions are:

1. Can you recommend me 2 units that will replace Edelgard and Hubert? By that, I mean axe wielder and a black mage. I will recruit only 2 units. Both are very dear and valuable to me, so I will have hard time finding a suitable replacement. (I'd rather get rid of Ferdinand and Caspar) I have no intention of using Rhea and Seteth, no matter how good they are (assuming they join you) or that ''forcefully inserted'' Flayn. I want to keep my party to 9.

2. Since I will have to replace Edgygard and Hubert, will it be a good idea to exclude them from early fights so that my other 7 chars can gain more EXP?

3. I was a pussy and didn't fight Death Knight. How hard/easy will he be on NG+?

4. Is it a stupid idea to raise professor level(s) by simple fishing? I think I should've do that from the beginning. Now I'm at the end of December (time-skip), and my professor level is probably low (B+, with 3000 EXP needed for level up)

The main problem with Edelgards new society is she hasn't really planned it out past her own rule. The nobility is abolished in favor of education and government positions are chosen based on merit. But the emperor still is the one choosing these positions, corruption is inevitable. Sure Edelgard might pick a good successor, and her successor may also pick a good successor, but it just takes one poor choice and the entire system instantly falls apart.

You need to get like, C+ support with Edelgard and talk to her and agree to go with her before some religious ceremony in a month where the goal is to go to this ceremony and recieve a divine revelation. Doing so unlocks a dialogue choice later on that is much more obvious.

As somebody who has done that. Don't do that. If you're at a low professor level you haven't been spending every month eating with everybody. A bit into the timeskip I was A+, max bonded with everybody, a magic/faith slinging death swordsman, and still was hurting for shit to do.

Oh and do church last. A few NG+ cycles in and you'll pretty much be able to recruit every single person that's possible. Which means less wholesale murder of the cast.

Every boss would kill any of my units with counterattacks do I had to chip their hp down with gambits from my entire squad so that one of my units would be able to take them out in one hit. Was stuck on BE final boss for ages, when I finally did beat it after an entire day it was only because I gave up and let one of the students in recruited from GD die in order to beat it.

DLC is obviously going to be where you team up with the slitherers and you have to kill everyone, even the ones you had recruited before. Final boss is Sothis herself.

Byleth gets a unique sword early on, a unique technique for it, and has a hidden talent in white magic which means he gets bonuses for using it. They confirmed the Expansion Pack DLC wouldn't feature additional story, it's still possible they could eventually release one independently of that. And if you'll recall, even without your direct interaction with the two, the battle still happens and the three leaders cause what is most likely mutual destruction. Edelgards plan to "betray" the slithers has no chance of happening. And her throwing the world in chaos for the sake of freedom was a crapshoot at best and an impossibility at worst.

Also AI dedue solos her and that entire side of the map. So no matter what she's dying after the battle of the 3 fucksticks.

Pre-timeskip, killed Kronya and foiled numerous slitherer's plot, post-timeskip, many more slitherer's leaders die, ICBM uncovered and the death of Nemesis. They don't call Byleth the fell star for a good goddamn reason.

Blue Lions has the best characters and the most plot relevant students. Many of the events in the story involve BL students, even pre-timeskip. And post-timeskip, the story is all about character drama and saving people's souls rather than saving the world. If you liked FF12's story or more character focused stories in general then pick BL.

Golden Deer on the other hand has a good cast of characters but they don't really do anything in the story or have any personal relevance to what's going on. While BL is full of friends who have known each other for a long time, Claude describes GD as a rag tag bunch of misfits. Their story is much more plot and lore focused and deals with the overarching conspiracy and has the most lore dumps. If you're someone who cares about that kind of stuff and doesn't mind a traditional "ancient evil awakens" story than go Golden Deer. You won't really understand what the fuck is going on behind the scenes until you play GD or Church.
