Scandinavian mythology games

Finished GoW recently and want to play more games centered around scandinavian mythology (or influenced by like Horizon Zero Dawn).

Already played Hellblade.

Banner Saga trilogy is good.

>wanting to play more games set in a culture of tribal raiders
>when that's already an overused as fuck setting

Go on, name some games ?

I keep seeing it on steam but the early 2000s styled artwork is a bit off-putting (feels like it doesn't fit), is voice-acting/story good? Also is it true to the mythology or takes massive liberties like GoW ?

>is voice-acting/story good
Yeah.
It's inspired/influenced rather than an actual adaptation of the mythology.

>Go on, name some games ?

It's easily one of the most common historical/cultural influences for games after medivial europe in general, japan, ww2, etc.

>God of war 4, as posted
>Skyrim
>the banner saga
>vikings battle of asgard
>expeditions cikings
>too human
>for honor
>tons of random games from the 80's and 90's

etc

Shit like Aztec, Khmer/India, etc have like less then 5 games each period, despite having way more potential/complexity

Aztec period ok maybe, designated period....can't see it being anything even remotely interesting.

Is the gameplay much like Fire Emblem or a bit less dauntingly slow and grindy ?

Odin's Sphere
Brothers

Rune

There'd be plenty of churches in the bottom row if norcucks didn't keep burning them down.

when posting impressive mesoamerican structures, why post the pyramid of the moon rather than the pyramid of the sun?
left is the sun and right is the moon, and the sun is far larger

Age of Mythology has a nordic faction with vikangz and shit

Rune

slave labors all

The average game devs haven't figured out how to make messkins and poons interesting outside of stereotypes

Max Payne

Play Aztez. Trust me, it's worth.

because that photo does a better job of showing scale with the people on it.

also reminder that even though the pyramid of the sun and moon and a few other structures are all that's visibly exacvated today, Teotihuacan was fucking huge and it's urban core alone matched rome in expanse

Epsulov released yesterday, it's like doom setting except the portal was opened into norse mythology or someshit. It's an indie horror game, it's ok

Ashes of Ariandel (DLC) is definitely heavily inspired

Too Human is the best norse mythology game

Age of Mythology has a nordic faction and the campaign is pretty good
